I originally had to take my Vauxhall Astra 1.6 auto to Evans Halshaw Edinburgh branch as it was a repair that could only be carried out by the dealership (faulty Body Control Module BCM). This was booked for 01/11/22, a wait of 7 weeks. The car was then available to be collected on 17/11/22 at a cost of around £1500! Around 6 months later, the same fault started happening again. I wasn’t able to go back to Evans until 19/07/23 and was told I would be able to take it back on 09/08/23 to be looked at. On the 07/08/23 I received a message telling me this has now been cancelled due to lack of staff and the next available appointment isn’t until 28/09/23. On Sunday 27/08/23 I had a major failure of the vehicle where I broke down in a live lane of traffic. The fault is such that I wasn’t even able to switch on the hazard lights, nearly causing a couple of collisions. The car had to be towed home as it is now totally unsafe and un-drivable. I went to Evans Edinburgh today 29/08/23 as I need the car repaired ASAP as I have caring responsibilities for my elderly parents. I was told that it is not possible to have the car looked at any sooner. This is really poor service and quite unacceptable, having to wait over 2 months for them to look at the repair which they have already carried out, at a cost of £1500! I am concerned they will cancel again, by which point my 12 month warranty on the repair may expire. I would really like for them to look at the fault which they repaired at great cost to myself before the 28/09/23 as I have no car and no means of getting to my parents.

Desired outcome: To repair the car before the 28/09/23
