Etsy Trashy Listings

I have not shopped on Etsy for some time but thought I’d look for an interesting gift to give my husband for our anniversary. After typing in “husband anniversary” into the search bar, I was thoroughly disgusted by what loaded onto my screen! The level of filth allowed on Etsy leaves me speechless. I didn’t know in the time I was away that they turned their “shopping experience” into one of utter perversion, garbage, and vulgarity. I’m sickened to see what they allow as creative when in reality it’s pure garbage. And since there is no way to contact them directly, I’m posting my complaint here. It would have been better to contact them directly but they seem to have buried that information, as well as any real chance of talking to anyone in charge.

Desired outcome: Get rid of the foul-language and disgusting and filthy brick-a-brack you allow to be posted on your site. I’d like to be able to shop without this type of filth thrown in my face.

Etsy Etsy's Vacation Mode Lie

Etsy put my store in vacation mode mid Dec 2021 because my CA general partnership needed an entity #. A brand new 2022 tax law. No explanation of the vacation mode or that I required an entity #. I sent many messages, all ignored. I had to figure it out on my own. I called my accountant & he said I didn't have an entity # & that CA general partnerships don't have entity #s. I found a press release online from the CA Secretary of State about the assigning of entity #s to general partnerships just being started in mid January. I called the Franchise Tax Board & got my entity # & they sent a letter verifying my number. I've sent the entity # & the letter from the franchise tax board with my entity # in many messages to Etsy. I just keep receiving the letter that if you sent documents, they will review them. It's been 2 1/2 months now. Store still in "vacation mode".

Desired outcome: I want my store Gypsygoddessalchemy back online & out of vacation mode.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Etsy Account suspended without any email stating why, failure to respond to any emails nor direct messages via social media.

My sellers account on Esty has been suspended for the second time. On both occasions I haven't received the appropriate email explaining why it has been suspended. The first-time this happened, I chased for days and when I finally got a response it was that 'it had been an accident'. It has now happened again and I have been emailing every day for a week. I have only just launched my brand on their website and building the brand from the ground up, this is making it impossible. I wouldn't be so irritated had they actually done what they claim to do, which is send an email explaining why. At least then I can solve the issue. However, they have done this or responded to any emails of social media messages I send. How is a company allowed to treat people like this? I am lucky that the store isn't my main source of income yet, what about the people who rely heavily on there stores. Do their accounts just get shut down like this too? I have worked day and night to get everything set up and ready and this happens. It is disrespectful and I quite frankly think Etsy are charlatans. Someone needs to sort this out.

Desired outcome: I want a sincere apology and and satisfying explanation, if I get told it was an 'accident' again I will loose my temper.

Hello, I hope you are well, and I apologize a lot for the inconvenience, and I ask you to help me if this is possible. I had a store on the Etsy platform, and I wanted traditional handmade carpets with 100% natural materials, and after I started working on this store for more than five months, I listed more than 300 products They closed the store without any reason. I tried to communicate with all Etsy customers, and no one helped me. They told me that I had violated the terms of use. I checked all the terms of use and did not find that my store violates this policy. Please help me because I am frustrated and this caused me depression because I was working hard on this store and there is more From six sales, I have sent it to customers correctly and worked hard on these products. I hope you can help me with anything, thank you

Etsy Last open and shut case in my etsy shop

Requesting a Senior Manager to review my last open case, in my Etsy shop


This was an unjustified open and shut case,

Customer Claudia who purchase 2 large Swan Figurines, from my shop

she had message me, that the large Swans neck has broken, and requsted a return shipping and a refund

This is not a problem since I I, message Customer to send the item back, to receive a Refund,

only this case was different

I gave her the information to ship it back for a refund, or File a USPS Insurance Claim, to recieve a Refund, on 1 Swan for $ 95.00

she decided to file a USPS Insurance Claim, and recieved a Check in the amount of $ 95.00

she requested an addional $ 105 from me, which was issued back to her,

Etsy's Team had a better idea, I was messaged, that if I want my large Swans back I need to purchase shipping Labels tru Etsy,

I am out $ 58.00 in Shipping

plus my beloved Swan Figurines Valued at $ 200.00

Claudia not only received a Full Refund back by Etsy'

got to keep the 2 Figurines,

Plus a $ 95.00 Check from the USPS

There is something wrong with this picture

The large Swan broke during shipping, and the brake was on the lower neck, where it was put together, anybody with a steady hand, can put the neck back on the SWAN,

my loss was $ 200 in Swan's plus $ 58.00 in shipping cost.

Etsy Etsy Seller Policies

Like other sellers have complained, Etsy cancelled my seller account and provided no reason. Furthermore I was charges for services that were never rendered. Their support is limited to email and sending them emails have only resulted receiving an incompetent response that demonstrate lack of understanding the issue.

Etsy Refunds given for no reason

Etsy gave two separate buyers refunds, When I went to look one of them even gave me great feedback. The OTHER LEFT NO FEEDBACK. The sad thing is it took me a while to even notice. I have written them; all I get back was '

Thanks for your email about buyer shipping information! I do want to let you know this is an automated message, as we're currently experiencing high volume. However, I made sure to include information below that I think will answer your question. If you still need help, please let me know by replying to this email."

Yes, I replied, and received the same message back. What can I do

It's the first and third picture. I have gone round and round with them. You are not able to call them anymore as a seller.

Desired outcome: To be paid what I am owed. And for them to admit it was their error.

Etsy verifying account and payments

3 times now Etsy have told me to verfiy my account 3 times I have asked my bank to see if there was anything paid in by Etsy but no nothing. 3 times my Etsy account has been suspended. All I ask is that this gets sorte out so that I can be paid whats owed to me. This is absolute madness.
Please just sort it out once and for all it is making me so frustrated and angry.
Please help me!

Etsy Decemberstuff Arkansas Black apple trees

I purchased 2 Arkansas Black apple trees last year and they were sent in April 2021 advertised as Nice Arkansas black trees for $57.00 What came were 2-12inch sticks -one never grew the other started by died. I have been going back and forth and finally the man said he would replace them. I do not want more twigs, I want trees-how do I get a refund.

Etsy Bougainvillea plants refund not received

I bought two bougainvillea plants from a seller named Thomas who does not sell on Etsy anymore. Etsy promised to refund my order of around $18. It's reported that they sent the refund to my Apple Pay. The purchase occurred in December and the order went to Howie in The Hills, Florida, Nowhere near my home in Orlando. Because Etsy thought that they paid the refund via Apple Pay my case was closed. I checked Apple Pay in Wallet and never received the refund. If a refund is issued now I would want it to be through PayPal. The only way I will ever use Etsy again is if they correct their error.

Etsy Orders#[protected] and #[protected]

I am really disappointed in this seller SEWMUCHFUNByConnie.
I ordered a personalized duffle bag for my grandson in November not knowing I would not get it by Christmas. As Christmas approached, I reached out to the seller and she finally answered back saying she could not fulfill the order by Christmas due to family issues, which was fine, I understand these type things happen. However, I feel if I had not asked several times about the status of my order, she would not have updated me. She cancelled my order and refunded my money. I reached out again and told her I still wanted the product and she told me to re-order, so I did. I was told it would ship the last of the first week of January 2022. On January 11th I reached out about the status of my order, then again on two more days. She finally responded, again, I cannot fill your order, still due to family issues, cancelled it again and refunded my money.
My complaint is if she didn't think she could do it, why would she tell me to order again? My grandson is very disappointed and was excited when I told him Christmas what I had ordered, and it would be shipped in a couple of weeks. Since she cancelled and refunded my money, I am not able to file a complaint on the app so I am trying this way. Hope she doesn't treat all of her customers this way. I will never order from her again. Also, you should have another way to file a complaint on the app after the seller cancels an order. I feel she did that so I could not respond.

Etsy Christmas t-shirts

I purchased a large christmas rush order on december 9, 2021 with donkeymonkeydesign that doesn't show up under my orders but the order # is [protected]. The communication with this company was difficult to begin with and has continued throughout my complaint. The printing was crooked on some of the t-shirts and she requested a picture so she could verify and refund but now will not respond to a long list of emails. The print was also done in a black ink when the picture on her website was green. Very disappointed with this seller and lack of communication and correspondence.

Etsy Wooden Painted Love Heart Ornament

I ordered this item on 10/2/21 for Christmas and payment was made through Pal. I filed a complaint with both since I could not track this item from CHINA!

I was at my daughters on CHristmas and It was not received. I have emailed the person whom I assume is the vendor to no avail.

The email I am trying to get a response from is "[protected]@gmail.

I would like this issue resolved as I was told it was shipped, well it was not received.

Desired outcome: Replacement of item asap or money refunded.

Etsy Shop closed with no explanation and account locked

On Dec 16th I reached out to Etsy after having my shop closed without notice. It has been open for less than a day. I sold 5 boxes, two that my mother purchased were cancelled by Etsy (when she talked to them later, they told her I cancelled them, not knowing that I am her daughter and that that is NOT what happened.) I did a follow-up on Dec 22nd and they finally reached out on Dec 23rd just to ask me a bunch of questions like when did I start my Etsy account. I was out of town, by then and visiting family, so I replied to them on Dec 27th and then reached out again on Dec 28th and again on Dec 29th. I reached out to their chat function today on Jan 3rd. Supposedly I am a "high priority" but I don't think it should take almost 3 weeks to find out why my shop was closed and to get my account unlocked. If I violated some Etsy policy, I would immediately fix the issue, but all I know is that my potential Christmas sales were impacted because of Etsy dragging their feet and not communicating. I would be less frustrated by the whole issue if I wasn't still getting messages from Etsy about my shop's weekly overview and to leave feedback for purchases. I would, but I can't get into my account!

Etsy Goat soap

I bought some goat soap I have been wanting . Got an email saying my next purchase would have free shipping. I clicked the free shipping link and tried to purchase a few more items and eEtsy continued to charge for the shipping . Needless to say I decided not to purchase anything else since the advertised free shipping was not true . False advertising.

Etsy Bread wooden box. - irresistible angelic

Paid with my bank card some $91.97. Already paid by bank on Dec 6. Was supposed to be delivered between Dec 12 thru 17. Not here yet. Can't get any answers to where it is. It it can't be delivered I want my money refunded. Etsy you take my money the payment was to you. I want and need answers.

Etsy Black Smoke Mafia; not shipped, not delivered

Ordered and paid for on 12/13/21, Pre-Transit shipping label created with USPS on 12/17, notified by "Sharon" shipping UPS 2nd day air on 12/21, i requested a tracking number on 12/22, 12/23 and 12/27 with no response from Seller-"Sharon" at BlackSmokeMafia with no responses or replies. Sent last message "Update: 12/27/2021, still waiting for my order and still awaiting a response from seller since she told me "going to send out 2nd day UPS on 12/21. Oh, I paid for my order on 12/13"

Still no response or tracking number as of today 12/29 (over 2 weeks later)

Big issue is ETSY will not allow me to open a case against this seller, there website leads you in circles with how to do it but re-directs you to a site page that is an error page... Rick Carlson

My account was randomly suspended and I received no reason I have called and emailed and nothing I have perfect ratings. People are singing my praise so I don't get it. I tried changing the bank account associated with it and boom two min later suspended

Etsy order #[protected] Glenda/Passionglenda

I ordered the product on Dec 8th. I emailed her on the 16th asking for a status update. I received a request from Glenda on Dec 16th asking me to be patient and that she orders a USPS tracking slip (Dec 8th) but assured me she mailed it on Dec 14th. Even though the product is not available, this is her way of keeping Etsy from suspending her account. (see attached phone pic highlighting this) I responded with an offer to drive to Houston for a personal pickup or pay the additional fees for over nighting the product as I needed it by Dec 24th. The gifts were to be added to the Christmas outing for the Dallas Cowboys game in Dallas on Dec 26th. She never responded.
I sent another request to her on Dec 21st as the USPS tracking system stated the items have not yet been received ( even though she tried telling me she mailed it on the 14th) for mail out and asked the status of my order. I stated that if she does not have the item I would be needing to cancel my order and receive a full immediate refund. As of this complaint, she still has not responded. There is no reason for customers to be lied too or cheated simply to keep her account with Etsy open. Had she been up front with me from the beginning and said she could not obtain the items or deliver the items by Christmas I would have been able to cancel my order within the required time frame. Since she ordered the mailing slip I assumed she had the product and would be mailing it in time for my trip to Dallas. She responded with the "I need to do it this way so Etsy wont suspend my account" The USPS local office stated that even with the holidays, if the package had actually be mailed on the 14th like she said, the package should have been delivered within 5 days of mailing if she had mailed it on the 14th like the tracking order and her own admission identified. I have all of the emails that confirm my report
Please resolve this issue with her and obtain my immediate refund

Desired outcome: Immediate full refund as I will now have to go and try to find the items today (which will cost me 3x as much)

It appears some sellers are ordering packing slips from the USPS in order to keep their accounts open with ETSY, even if they cant deliver the item. According to the seller, ETSY will suspend their account if they cant ship items within a certain period of time. I think ETSY should have sellers confirm they have the items in stock, identify approx shipping time BEFORE an item is paid for and mandate sellers respond to questions about their products that have been paid for within 48 hours. Nothing is more irritating then to be kept in the dark or lied to AFTER a seller receives payments for their items

Etsy Ornament order

On the 5th of December, I ordered a custom Christmas ornament from seller adoreanddecor. After waiting 15 days for my order and receiving no communication and no product, I contacted the seller to inquire as to where my item was. The seller messaged me back and told me that she was sooooooo sorry, but that she was on vacation, and that she would not be getting to my order until after Christmas. The seller says that it was indicated on her Etsy page that her shop was going to be closing on the 10th of December, and that orders made after the 5th would not be fulfilled before Christmas; I did not see any of this, but even if I had, I received no communication from the seller that she would not be fulfilling my order until *I* contacted *her*, 15 days after the fact. It is now 5 days before Christmas and I am left scrambling to find my child a Christmas ornmanent. I feel very strongly that this seller behaved unprofessionally, and I WILL be leaving her a bad review, but I felt very strongly that I also needed to let Etsy know of this seller's lax practices and lack of communication with her PAYING customers.

Desired outcome: Fulfillment of my order would be nice, but seeing as how that is impossible, I would appreciate an immediate refund of my money.
