Our neighbor was in an accident. Erie insurance (the insurance of the woman who hit him) said they would come get his damaged truck but would contact the owner first (my neighbor) prior to arriving. No day or time was indicated. The neighbor parked the truck on our property to keep open space on his (we have larger parking area).
Erie showed up without any notice. My husband was home, they never knocked on the door or anything, but they drove over our septic field (leech field) to pull his truck out of our driveway. I do not know yet if the septic field has damage from Erie's truck, and I am more concerned about them not contacting the owner of the truck to let him know when they would arrive. We would have had the truck in a more available spot for easy transport. I am very concerned about them trespassing on our property and will be filing a police report for trespassing this week. To make matters worse, they took the truck but not the title, so they have his truck somewhere, but he has the title and insurance on it... that's why they were supposed to let him know when they were coming, so he could hand over both.
Desired outcome: a police report for trespassing will be filed. This is unacceptable. I will have our septic field checked this summer, if there is ANY damage, I will be suing Erie insurance.
