Notified in November that Erie was dropping my coverage for home, cars, and umbrella. Reason was because my broker was merging with another broker who did not handle Erie. I had been with Erie for 2 years paid claim free (nothing). I attempted to stay with Erie through another broker.
Erie refused to recognize me as an existing customer and wrote my coverage under a new costly premium structure. Once they quoted me much higher premiums, after dragging the communications on for over a month, and I accepted, they reneged. They claimed by looking at Zillow pictures of my property, that were 10 years old and belonging to my previous owner, my trees needed to be cut and a wood burning stove needed to be removed. Well two trees had been cut down on my property over a span of 7 years, several thousands of dollars spent on trimming remaining trees, and no wood stove existing on the property over nine years. Totally a fabrication of issues that were a decade old and never an issue when I was with them for two years. Wow, couldn't be because I'm over 65!
No customer loyalty, no customer facing, just a questionable selection of customers with no regard to accurate data which lends itself to a very narrow delineation of why.
