Eastside Contractors
Initial "Ratpad" design and install (two weeks) April 2019. We experienced complete failure of both pad and "extra $" sump to "waterproof" pad in less than 90 days. Water located January 2020 pad / sump failure causing / creating large sinkhole over 10 feet in circumference. Extensive water / mold and medical issues persist to this day. Failure due to not 3inch pad "contracted and paid for" but the less than mil in places pour and extremely poor sump / flow design and no research or testing.
2nd Contractor (contracted by Eastside)
March 2020 Old damaged / moldy pad had to be removed this spread concrete dust over everything we own, and the dust is just like sandpaper. Now April 2020 and Eastside's "correct" answer is a new 4-inch pad? Once we pay the new contractor to "fix" the drainage issue, which we did not have before the Eastside contract / work. Work stoppage second day due to finding extensive water.
3rd Contractor (referred by Eastside)
June 2020 Scheduled to perform testing 1K (finally but a bit late) but testing, thank you. The contractor does not/will not pour a "ratpad", states it is not the best solution and has a much better one. All work still at our expense. Finally determined they have no affiliation with Eastside and will not work with them
Neither our Time and Effort, loss of vintage memorabilia nor our medical issues have been recognized or addressed by the contractor.
We are still living in boxes with fans / air cleaners everywhere (the mold smell) and bailing the crawl space "EVERY" time it rains… this is no way to treat any homeowner much less a retired Boeing Engineer and his RN wife. We did have time to address this but now we are headed back to the front again… Please do more research before making this decision.
