I am a victim of this all cash doctor. He performed on me a criminal surgery based on a scam diagnosis of what he called a perilymph fistula. Too late for my life I have learned that this is a non legit diagnosis and no legit hospital in the US perform such surgery. He left me on disability and caused me irreversible damage that ruined the rest of my life.

I hope you all went to the medical board, filed complaints, and forwarded same to his insurance companies. You did, right?

What's his relationship to Pontchartrain Outpatient Surgery?

What happened there?

What's he doing now?

I found out that Dr. G did something terrible to my ear that should not have been done and that cause me all my misery, afterwards he totally abandoned me unless it is to blame my other ear for my misery. I am definitely ANOTHER VICTIM OF HIS PERILYMPH FISTULA MODUS OF OPERANDI. I asked his office if I could share my experience on the Ear and Balance web site to notify other people from possible outcome of this ear surgery but my request was ignored. Can anyone imagine that Amazon would only agree to publish five stars reviews on the products they sell? And if he does not publish these bad experiences, how can anyone even trust the positive reviews on his web site? This guy is a total fake, a despicable con artist and what he does, he does without consent.

I did not listen to all the posted red flags, I thought I can trust this man, Dr. G, I was wrong, the first surgery did not help with any my symptoms, and added a myriad of debilitating new symptoms. Dr. G told me that I will get better only after he operates on the second ear as well. And now I am lying down in bed for more than a year and I lost my job. I lost hope to get better, my situation is deteriorating since the surgery and the doctor will not help me anymore, he says its in my head.

Dr G is detached from all the harm he caused to his patients, his brain consumed by alcohol, his only Hippocratic Oath pertains to his bank account. If anyone thinks that this real estate developer in Covington knows anything better about your ear than Hopkins it is only because he is a total con and he will manipulate you and scare you to death with dozens of emails that he will send to you with fake conditions that you do not have, every single word that is coming out of his mouth is a lie.

I have taken some time to reflect on my father's experience at the Ear and Balance Institute, and I feel like I have to leave this feedback for anyone considering them for treatment. We were told about EBI while my 82 year old father was in St Tammany hospital recovering from surgery. He has suffered with constant dizziness for 5 years, and has had every test and/or exam know to the medical world, with no relief. So I called EBI and was told about them not accepting insurance, and how this would allow for more personalized treatment, since they weren't dependent on referrals from other doctors, or insurance company approvals for treatments and procedures. While not inexpensive, my father and his children thought that the possibility of him finding out the cause, and subsequent lessening of his dizziness, far outweighed the out of pocket costs, which he had no trouble affording. He went through an initial exam and a battery of tests, went on a special diet, and took prescribed medication, and followed all of the doctors instructions in the hope of reducing the dizziness. After having crystals reset in both ears, and six weeks or so of the diet and medication, the dizziness lessened only slightly for a day or so, but quickly returned to the previous level. At this point Dr Gianoli, wanted my dad to meet with his partner Dr Soileau, later the same afternoon as our visit with Dr Gianoli. As I made the appointment, I asked if the $250 charge for the second opinion visit with Dr Soileau would be covered under the $250 visit fee paid for the visit we had just finished. I was met with some resistance from the lady behind the counter that always handled the billing, so I asked if they would please check whether the fee would be waived, and give me a call, but that I was coming back for the second opinion visit regardless of having to pay the $250 fee or not. We were happy to pay more the $6000 for our visits and treatments, but if I can save my father $250, I'm certainly going to try, as would any of you who are reading this review. I received a call from a different employee about an hour or so after we had left, telling me that Dr Gianoli, had now changed his "best course of action" to getting another second opinion from another doctor. I was shocked to hear that because I had questioned the extra visit fee, that we were being told that we should go somewhere else to get a second opinion(a second opinion that we had NEVER requested, but that Dr Gianoli had requested). I was assured that that was not the case, but honestly, how else could that have been translated? If I don't question the fee, my dad returns that afternoon to meet for the "second opinion" that they recommended, and everything is good. Had they called and simply said that they were sorry, but the fee had to be paid, and would we still like to come for the visit, I would have been completely satisfied. While meeting with Dr Soileau for another 3 hours, my dad was told that he had an irregular heartbeat(he had just had an echocardiogram less than 60 days before and his heart was fine), and we should consult with his cardiologist before coming back. As we walked out, Dr Soileau shook my hand and smiled at me and said "we're going to fix your dad, don't worry!" On my dad's next 2 nurses visits, no irregular heartbeats have been detected, nor have any been detected since. After spending over $6000 out of pocket with them, and being told how they were going to help(I took this with a grain of salt), we have not heard a peep from EBI, since the day we left that "second opinion" visit. So my dad is still dizzy, $6000 poorer and feels betrayed and lied to by both doctors at EBI. Since telling our story to anyone who will listen, I've discovered many other patients of EBI that payed a lot of money out of pocket with zero results. Fancy machines and sophisticated testing is no substitute for quality patient care, formerly called bedside manner. Whatever happened to "do no harm?"

Dr. Gianoli is a one-size fits all doctor. He completely misdiagnosed my problems and because of it I have been in much worse shape than when I first went to him. He takes terrible notes and he was not at all receptive to learning that he was not correct. As a result of his treatment, and the drugs he prescribed, I have terrible tinnitus due to his surgery. It has taken me a long time to get back to where I was (which was uncomfortable enough) before I saw him. I would recommend seeing other doctors who have experience with head trauma if you have balance problems and you have had head injuries, as there are reasons other than the inner ears that can cause inequilibrium.

I was treated by Dr. Gianoli for what appeared to be Meniere’s. He told me I had permanent damage to my ear and was going to be deaf. He wanted to do lumbar puncture, then surgery, I refused and he put me on different meds that had me like a zombie. Luckily, I found another Dr. who was wonderful and got me off all of the meds. My hearing is normal and I have been doing great for many years. He might be a very good doctor to others but I am done with him! I am happy to tell him his diagnosis was WRONG! Dr. Gianoli has no empathy and I doubt he is honest, he made me feel so scared and sad. Always get a second and third opinion – and find someone who cares, who accepts insurance and has no “I am God complex”

People. Don't trust this doctor. He is dishonest, dangerous, careless, and eager to perform invasive unnecessary surgeries. I trusted him despite getting 4 other opinions informing me not to go through a surgery he recommended and consequently lost my hearing caused by the surgery he performed on me. Red flag to warn the naive people, "hundreds" of positive reviews.

Dr. Gianoli: an Internet hoax, an operational sociopath, a compulsive liar, can sell you on anything to separate you from your cash, a great moment to be a con in America.

Everyone who has been hurt, misdiagnosed, etc. needs to submit complaints to the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners for investigations which can ultimately result in refusal of a license renewal and not being able to practice any longer...Send medical records and narratives...Also, reporting to news stations for investigations. Possibly Dateline, 20/20, local news stations. Proof of Dr.'s notes explaining Gianoli's unapproved practices and fictitious diagnoses is sufficient. Class action lawsuit is a definite possibility with enough patients coming forward. Don't wait, others are filing...

Dr. Gerard Gianoli represents the most bestial of all criminals, a low-life human being in shape of a doctor who uses his medical license to catch in his net the most vulnerable people looking for medical help. Worse than a criminal who may spare your life for the money, this vile doctor wants it all, your money and your life. A loathsome physician who flourished on the fertile soil of Louisiana, where there is no judge and there is no law to protect the victims from a free market delinquent medical system. Supported by his wrong doer collaborators, Kacie Harvey, Andrea, all equally with blood on their hands, because they know the truth about his criminal surgeries, but they are there for the ride as well.

This profiteer is rating himself in his own web site company as a five star doctor with 797 survey responses, however, he only posted 202 reviews. Where are the remaining 595 reviews? "Individual experience may vary" suggests the doctor himself...

Dr. Gianoli is the definition of a pervert: a doctor who doesn't not know shame. For one simple reason is that in a pervert’s world, the other does not exist, in his world it is only his desire and his pleasure that counts. The other is a shadow, a puppet. Dr. Gianoli would not consider the mental world of the other, so he can inflict everything on you. And in his eyes, no one of course has the ability to judge him.
