Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Membership #[protected]

I have made multiple attempts to obtain assistance from the dav as I am a lifetime member. I have been unable to get any followup help from a representative for the last few years. What does it take for them to decide a veteran is worth representation? Then I realized, if the organization can't be bothered to return a call to a veteran, why would anyone expect them to expend any effort in actual representation?

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Housing and utilities assistance

I call this DAV phone number yesterday which was February 10 I spoke to a representative who told me to come down to the office on Johnson Street I got there around 1:57 and two employees were outside in the parking lot and stated that they close at 2 o'clock and for me to come back tomorrow at 9:30 in the morning and I will be first. To be held which is February 11. I get there at that time on time and express what I was told by the employees yesterday after sitting 20 minutes in an older gentleman that worked in the office with the elderly woman walked me into the kitchen of their facility with a time sheet of paper and referrals to other organizations of Charity To help me. He also stated that they only had $8000 left for them to survive and run the business and for me to check out the charity groups He noted on the paper and walk me to the door. This is why I am filing a complaint and I will also contact the Better Business Bureau as this is my second charity group next to the Volunteers Of America who are basically choosing who to help and who not to turning away Veterans and I will contact the Federal Trade Commision I will contact the White House Veterans Affairs give.org. And also a pill or even have my friends family and coworkers put this on the Facebook page and networking around as bad business I am a single father we share custody of three children I'm experiencing hardships from a divorce financially as well as going to any vection currently and then left to hang by a charity group who is procedures were to get court documents my contact is [protected] Kenneth Stevenson

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Transportation services

For 5 straight days straight (multiple times per day) of unsuccessful calls and voice mails I have been unable to schedule a ride to my VA Clinic. Having spoke to the VA office and reporting I wanted to file a grievance this right went unacknowledged. I have been denied access to DAV services at same time I see other veterans utilizing these services. I believe that the work ethics and professionalism and competency of some employees is at question. I have been provided excuses which are unexcusable.
The DAV I believe has violated my rights.

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Representation

I am an Army Vet And I am not the only one who vents his frustration on the phone when I am promised a phone call when my question isn't answered. The rep didn't have the answers for me, I can respect that, don't tell me you are going to call me back and don't for a week. When I call back the rep went to a convention to raise money for DAV, and won't return for another week. When I finally get to talk to you I am angry and I vent. Then you block me? You block me? What am I a teenager? Get off you pesiatal and do the right thing by us. We are relying on you for answers. You people can't handle the job don't do us any favors. We as Vets have enough to deal without your crap.

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Truck driver for dav

I had scheduled a pickup donation for the dav on Friday August 8, 2019 that the only weekday that I have off. I was not a home at the time of the truck arrived to pick up the donated items. when I arrived back home I realized that the truck had been at my resident but failed to pick up any items. They left a note on the card that said since I had three tables, they wasn't able take any of my items, I would have thought that they could have taken the rest of the things and left the table, but the note stated that since they couldn't take the tables their policy is not to take any items you can imagined to my surprise that all the stuff was left behind, the only thing I can come up with is the driver was LAZY and didn't feel like doing any work so it was easy for him to just leave the things behind. The reason I put the tables was the person that I spoked with said that I could as long as it didn't weight over 20 lbs. and they didn't. I was upset because I give the the Dav all the time cause my husband was a veteran and I like what they do for the disabled veteran but today I was solely disappointed with the service of the driver I think if they don't want to do the job they should do something else I am sure that some disabled veteran could have used those glassware and picture and clothes all the things that I give to veterans is barely used and is not junk maybe that is what the driver thought caused it was packed the way I usually do it and labeled like I usually do but the only thing I can say is don't a book by its cover. Well i guess I have vented enough just wanted someone to listen to my complaint. I have given to the Dav for a long time and this is the only time I have been disappointed. You will have to do better Thanks

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Service presentation at my brother’s funeral service

A man approached me at the funeral home. I told him I was not the widow and showed him my sister-in-law. This man approached her with his booklet and information concerning DAV. After a minute, he told her "I'm available". He also told her after a while that he was single! He said his phone number was on the card and she could call for anything... reminding her again, he was single! My brother, Robert Kyrisch, is a Marine and Veteran of Vietnam Nam. He died suddenly. We were so appreciative to have the DAV there and the ceremony was nice. However, this man "hit" on my sister-in-law. She was infuriated not to mention this happened within the eyesight of my brother's coffin. His name is Kevin Crozier. This is totally inappropriate.
Sincerely, Vickie Hylton, Robert Kyrisch's Sister.

The matters are REMANDED for the following action: To Obtain the Veterans' complete service personnel records, Schedule the Veteran for VA examinations, Readjudicate the appeals, and all opinions must have sufficient rationale.

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Education

Attended UNC-FSU, at the main campus. Attended 3 classes durin the 2014 year, taught by Dr. Lheem. I arrived at all of the classes, on time. I passed all of the written test, in each of the three (3) classes. I was told by the instructor, Dr. lheem, collectively, He made an announcement in front of the entire class, that we all had passed the class(es). Dr. Lheem stated, in front of each of the classes that we all passed, but he asked for our forgiveness in posting of the grades, for each course, because of a time constraint, of conflicting Faculty Meetings, he beg our tolerance. I later went to final scores, and found, that I had received an "F" Grade, for each of 3 Classes, that I attended. Class I.D [protected].

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Veteran claim assistance

Called the Louisville office to ask a question in regards to uploading documents! Gentlemen answering the phone was rude, unsympathetic, kept placing me on hold only to state the last time, "it must be important because you're still holding!' Asked for his name only to be told he was Al Gore! Completely unprofessional! Not only am I am I disabled veteran, they represent me with all of my veterans affairs. I'm also a lifetime member! I'm completely appalled by the nature of this guy's professionalism or lack thereof! Come to find out, this office has numerous problems with rudeness! This guy is making a living not helping veterans in a position, where assisting veterans is his number 1 task.

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Secretary at Lawton Oklahoma DAV

I walked into the DAV in lawton and was immediately greeted with a condescending secretary who was judging me as if My claim was of no worth. Her condescending judgment was so deep seated in her much that she wasn't even listening to what I told her. She claimed I said I have aliziheimers in my back which is complete poppycock as I said I have arthritis in my neck. Furthermore she proceeded to tell me about some child in the waiting room who didn't have parents. I didn't go to social services to become a foster parent I came to the DAV because I have problems of my own! This had to be one of the most disrespectful ladies I have ever met and not one who should represent ANY organization. She asked me, what my goal in life is and I don't have an answer for that right now. She proceeds to tell me, that's sad. Again condescending me. I don't have an answer because I'm battling depression and anexity. I shouldn't have to come to a place where I'm going to be treated that way when I'm vulnerable, frankly it's disgusting.

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Discriminatory practices and abuse of non-profit status

“follow the money….” is what many say. The department of veteran’s affairs’ (Va) pervasive attack on whistleblowers not only takes place at va hospitals, but also at benefits processing centers and now even involve support from so-called “non-profit” organizations, such as the disabled american veterans (Dav).

At the atlanta veterans benefits administration (Vba), a whistleblower alleges that her complaint (S) of discrimination and a hostile work environment involving not only va employees, but dav employees was and continues to be buried by the va.

One of the dav employees, according to the eeo and eeoc complaint (S) filed by this whistleblower, used facebook to post racist, bigoted, and hate speech; and, that this employee expressed his racist, bigoted, and hateful views/beliefs/etc.in ways that included his treatment of her; his influence on coworkers to file fabricated harassment complaint (S) against her; and, his fabricated/false testimony/statement to the va - which resulted in this whistleblower’s removal from the va.

The dav, is an alleged non-profit organization that benefits from a tax exempt status and federal financial assistance from the va (See page 3 of shannon v. Lardizzone, civil no. 06-522 gms. (D. Del. Jun. 11, 2008) and as such, is not allowed to commit acts that violate public policy - even in cases where an organization did not violate any federal statutes or state or local laws (I. E. Discrimination in the case of bob jones university v. United states, 639 f 2d 147 (4th cir. 1980).

Although the va received this whistleblower’s eeo complaint against the dav and under shannon v. Lardizzone, the va would have jurisdiction over processing this eeo complaint, the va remains silent as to whether or not it can accept the complaint/claims and has not assigned an investigator to process the formal eeo complaint.

It appears that the dav employee has removed some of the racist, bigoted, hateful, etc. Content on his facebook, but has posted additional material that would be construed as intolerant, racist, hateful, etc. - and this dav employee remains employed and undisciplined.

I believe that the dav’s actions to retain such an employee and turn a blind eye to discrimination, a hostile work environment, and fabricated/falsified complaints/testimony/statements used to oust a whistleblower is beyond disgusting; and, that the dav’s tax exempt status should be removed - along with any/all federal financial assistance it receives.

If you would like to see copies of the facebook postings and/or other information regarding/related to this written piece, you can go to youtube "https://youtu.be/K2eXVA2b6so"

I gave the St. Louis office of the DAV my son's spina bifida claim to appeal: 3 business days prior to the claim they called and told me this: YOU HAVE NO CLAIM AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO TELL THE JUDGE: DON'T LIKE IT CALL THE NEWS! But it turns out it was sooo much more than that: The DAV office is where my disabled son works also: they cornered him showed him a trust account for him and asked "why do you not control your own money" "then they showed him an investment account and said see how much money your dad has" then they wanted to know if he got paid for working for challenge unlimited? Then they told him I was trying to have him declared incompetent. But wait there is more they assumed they knew what Cognitive impairment and diminished executive function meant but they are totally clueless. The knew and know nothing about the effects of spina bifida and still took the claim only to destroy the appeal because they now nothing nothing about the effects of spina bifida or from what I can tell much else and then I am not 16 days into trying to speak with someone who does not say "You should talk with ? not me" These guys make the K stone cops look like a drill team! Want to lose and lose big get these guys it is in the bag!

I had a upcoming hearing with the VA concerning my Appeal. I sent my first email to the DAV asking about who would represent me for my Appeal. I got a response to that email. I sent another email asking if a DAV representative can call me because I had some questions about my medical evidence. Six days went by with no response back from the DAV. Therefore, I had submitted a withdrawal from my hearing through email to the DAV. In less than one hour the DAV representative who responded to my first email said that they would submit my withdrawal to the VA. It is funny to me that the DAV representative did not respond back to me when I requested to speak to someone about my Appeal. But, they was quick to respond to my withdrawal request. If this is how the DAV does business concerning taking care of veterans then we have a problem. From this experience and prior DAV experience, it seems like the DAV is working for the Department of Veterans Affairs to screw veterans over with their disability compensation claims. I have no more faith in the DAV. I should be able to speak to my DAV representative before one hour of my hearing. That is not representing a veteran for their Appeal.

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Discriminatory and racist employees

I, a veteran, and United States citizen, am appalled that the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) organization employs racists and intolerant people like Christian Cluff (1700 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033).

Attached are snapshots from Christian Cluff’s Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/christian.cluff) – where he expresses his racism and intolerance; and, he believes that our current President (President Barack Obama) is some part of Muslim brotherhood plan to take over the United States.

I cannot believe that in this day/age the DAV would have such deplorable people like Mr. Cluff in its organization.

Sincerely,

A veteran who proudly served his/her country and deserves the same respect and consideration – regardless of race, religion, and/or political views.

I believe this stems from the top as Mr. Dan Clare also expresses these similar discriminatory practices. It’s unfortunate given the donations go more to their salaries as the board members pay themselves between $700,000 to $350,000 per year. The tax filings are public knowledge per law

Disabled American Veterans [DAV] Refused to give merchandise purchased

Complaint against:

DAV Thrift Store
6803 W Alameda Ave
Lakewood, CO [protected]
[protected]

I am trying to contact someone regard a DAV Thrift store in here Lakewood, CO. I conducted a purchase just after 9 am on 8/1/09 using a Rebate Debit Visa card. The clerk grew impatent waiting and hit several buttons on the machine, then swiped the card repeatedly. The transaction finally came back Declined. Knowing the balance, we called right then and there the bank, who on line confirmed the $33.87 charge by DAV was on my card. The clerk and manager refused to give me my merchandise beccause their machine didn't print out a payment receipt. The Mgr stated that if I came back with proof he would give me my merchandise. I went online and printed out the statement and brought it back within an hour. He called his manager and they refused to give me my merchandise simply on the basis that the card machine still failed to show it. They stated I would have to come back during the weekday. I believe it is unfair to inconvience me 3 times when I have shown them proof of the transaction 2 different ways by my bank. As a contractor, I would lose pay to take time off from work to come to their store during banking hours. I am due my merchandise and also feel that I am due an apology. I was a frequent customer, shopping there 2 or 3 times a week, and should have been treated better as an honest customer and veteran.
