Diamond Tours review: Horrible experience with trip & tour guide from DE to the New England area

My neighbors & I, who live in a very large active adult community, traveled from DE to New England with another small group of DE residents in early August. My neighbors & I were the majority of the residents on the bus also. Most of us have traveled heavily both domestic & abroad & NO ONE in my neighborhood I have spoken to who went on this trip will ever use Diamond Tours again - see comments below.

I do not typically complain about anything, nor do I usually do it in such a public way, however, I feel I must submit a formal complaint about a horrible experience I had with your tour company in early August. I already spoke to & sent a lengthy email to the woman who manages your customer service dept, however, I didn’t get the resolution I was hoping for, which is a refund of $992.

A main complaint of mine & others was the tour leader. We learned on the trip this was her first tour & boy did it show! When she was given feedback by many seasoned travels in how to address ongoing issues & hostile situations, her response was “this is my first tour” – that was NOT our problem! I shared the name of the tour leader in the email I sent weeks ago.

Sandwich, MA was listed on our itinerary, however, we only drove through it & did not get off the bus to tour it. The bus guide told us the reason we didn’t go was because it was too expensive! Why was it listed on the itinerary, if we weren’t visiting it?

We all thought we were staying in a hotel, but we stayed in an old, dirty motel instead that was in the middle of nowhere.

On our 2nd night, we were dropped off at our motel with nothing to do – our “leader” had nothing planned for that night. Why would we all want to sit in our motel rooms by ourselves?

On our last day, it was important to have the luggage separated based on which stop you were getting off, however, our “leader” failed to remind people to separate their luggage the night before. The bus driver was very thankful to me for helping separate luggage since our trip would have been more seriously delayed had I not helped him & others for our help since we already had a long trip ahead of us, which would have been seriously delayed had we not helped with this critical task.
