Delmarva Power has been charging a “delivery fee” that is close to the same amount as the supply charges, yet no one delivers electric to our buildings/homes. This fee wasn’t there 2 years ago and now it is. In doing some research people are saying the AI data centers in the DMV area are outsourcing their electric bills onto us. If this is the case and Delmarva Power has made an agreement with data centers to charge us their bills, they should be sued. If this isn’t the case then Delmarva Power needs to explain what this “delivery fee” is going to if no one is actually delivering electric. I’m living in the same building I was 4 years ago and my electric bill was at its highest $80 (supply only) in the winter, now it’s $260 (supply + delivery fee). A 1 story single family home is $700 in electric now and a 2 story single family home is $1100. This is absolutely ridiculous and wrong.
Claimed loss: Close to $1,000 in “delivery fees” from June 2025 to February 2026
Desired outcome: Delivery fees taken off our bills. They weren’t there before, the electric isn’t delivered to us, this is clearly extra money being stolen from us.
