David's Bridal review: Poor customer services

On Thursday 4/10/08 I called to find out if my dress had arrived that was ordered back in 1/08. When I spoke to the sales rep on the phone she had advised me that everything had been picked up on 4/1/08. To which was a surprise to be being that I never picked up anything. I explained to her that I never picked up anything. She placed me on hold for a total of 15 minutes when she came back on the line she apologized for the scare and advised me that only the shoes had been picked up to be dyed. I made an appointment to try on the dress and pick it up for 4/11/08. When I arrived to my appt at 6:30pm I was greeted and advised to wait while they looked for my dress. 10 minutes after arriving I was advised that my dress had already been picked up. I explained to them my conversation the day before on the phone with their Customer service rep. Veronica (Sales rep) went to look for the dress again. She came back with only my dress and head piece when I asked her for the shoes she indicated that they had been picked up. At this point I am extremely frustrated and she noticed it. She placed my dress in a fitting room, I asked for undergarment to try on my dress; she brought them and placed them in the room. I was never offered any assistance to try on the dress (as I was when I originally ordered the dress). My mother had to help me with trying it on. 10 minutes later I see her leaving with her purse in hand, I stopped her and asked her for the shoes and she came back 5 minutes later and explained that the shoes were never ordered if I had my receipt. Luckily I had my receipt and I also showed her their order form which indicates everything that was ordered and the shoes were on there. She took my receipt to the manager (Doris). While I'm waiting with my gown on a customer service rep asked if I needed assistance (unfortunate I don't recall her name) I expressed my frustration with their overall customer service, I felt as though I was no longer a customer since my dress was already purchased they don't feel the need to give me the same quality customer service as if I was going in for the first time. The sale is done so there is no need to be extra nice. She apologized and assisted with bringing me some sample shoes to try on with the dress. While I was viewing my dress Doris came and again told me that the shoes were picked up I explained to her what was told to me on the phone the shoes were picked up to be dyed. She asked me if anyone was picking up things for me. At which point I was more irritated and I told her why would I have someone pick up my shoes prior to the dress? That doesn't make sense but no one is picking up anything for me. She walked away and came back with my shoes. And explained that they were misplaced. I would not refer anyone to David’s Bridal because once they make the sale they feel as though they no longer need to go the extra mile to satisfy the customer.
