After the new roof replacement, I found that the dryer vent was installed without properly removing the underlayment. Due to this, the space of the duct through which the air must pass through is very narrow, causing an elevated risk of fire. This improper installation also makes it impossible to clean the ducts. I contacted the HOA and D-Wing Construction, who were in charge of replacing the roof, and asked them to fix it. However, my concerns were initially ignored by the HOA. A few weeks later, two roofers from D-Wing Construction inspected the issue and stated that they didn't find any problems and that the air flows were good. They tested this by placing their hands on the vent after having me turn on the dryer. Please refer to the following photo and video for evidence. If this improper installation causes a fire, it is questionable whether D-Wing Construction will be held responsible. I have always been under distress when using the dryer due to the fire hazard. I have had to keep a close eye on the dryer for a long time and it hasn't been operating well enough due to poor air flows. In response to this situation, I demand definite repairs and fair compensation.

Dear D-Wing Construction,

I am writing to address our recent phone conversation regarding the facia. (Please refer to the attached photos.) During our discussion, you mentioned that using heavier material or adding ribs to the facia would help eliminate the issue of oil canning, especially since my house has a larger facia. Based on our conversation, you offered to use the heavier material (without specifying the thickness), but with the condition that any further work required on the facia would be at an additional cost to me, potentially nullifying your warranty. I cannot agree to this condition, as I believe you are the siding experts and should be responsible for finding a suitable solution.

After the completion of the first wall of facia (west wall), I sought a resolution to the oil canning problem from your team. Your employee, whose name I have omitted, suggested two options. However, since I cannot agree to the aforementioned condition, my understanding is that you plan to install the new gutters on the oil canned facia (which is not acceptable to me). Additionally, you mentioned that you will not provide new gutter flashing as previously stated, but instead reuse the old damaged ones (also not acceptable to me). I assume that at a later date, you will need to remove the gutters and facia to repair them under your 10-year parts and labor warranty. This seems like a waste of time and resources.

I had attempted to address the facia concerns early on, after the completion of the first wall, in order to avoid any extra work on your part. However, it appears that you are not willing to consider the recommendations of your employee without imposing conditions on me. Furthermore, you are now stating that you will reuse old damaged material (gutter flashing) despite the fact that I purchased new vinyl siding, soffit, facia, and gutters from your company as a complete package.

I am truly at a loss for words, but I am still hopeful that we can find a solution to this issue. (Please refer to the attached photos for reference.) I believe it is in both of our interests to address this matter promptly and effectively. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
