Our son in Atlanta GA ordered Crumbl Cookies for his father for Father's day. We were out
shopping when the package was delivered.
When we arrived home I saw two boxes of Crumbl Cookies on our front porch. I picked up the boxes of cookies and started to carry them into the kitchen. As I entered the kitchen I realized I had excruciating pain in my left hand. The pain was so bad I dropped the boxes of cookies and fell on my back on the kitchen floor. I screamed with the pain. My husband opened the boxes and the cookies were cover with tiny ants. The pain lasted for several hours and I debated about going to emergency. It felt like there hundreds of tiny ant bites in my left hand and wrist. In by the meantime I looked on line to determine what to do. I washed my hand and wrist with soap and water. I then put ice on the area and hydrocortisone cream. I felt light headed the rest of the day.
I contacted the manager of the Boardman store and told her what occurred. Her response was that it wasn't the store's fault but laid the blame on the delivery service. She exhibited zero concern and never even asked how I was doing. She did say our son should contact the delivery company and maybe they would issue a refund. My concern is why wouldn't the store wrap the boxes to protect them from any insects or animals. We truly felt sorry for our son and how he feels about the outcome to his surprise.
Recommendation: Be wary of leaving packages outside.
