Cost Cutters Haircut waiting time

On March 23, 2021 I visited Cost Cutters Salon at 533 South Broad Street, Meriden, CT 06450.

I have been patronizing this particular Cost Cutters location for many, many, years.

I requested a haircut and was told that the wait would be approximately 20 minutes.

I waited in the store. When my turn arrived, I was told that another customer had to be served before me because they had an appointment for that time.

Ordinarily I would have deferred, but by this time I had been waiting OVER ONE HOUR.

I could no longer afford any more time to wait, so I left.

Cost Cutters Haircut

I went in to get a trim. My hair was a little past my shoulders. It is now a sad attempt at a bob. I can not pull my hair up. I have chunks missing and only half of my hair is even layered. My hair is nowhere near what I had asked for. There is no way it can be fixed unless I cut it super short now. Which is not possible. When I called to inform the manager of the disaster on my head, I find out the manager is who messed up my cut. Then was treated like I messed up my own hair. Will never ever return there.

Cost Cutters Hours on website and actual hours are incorrect

On Sunday 2/28/2021 I went to the cost cutters in walmart at 2200 Brookmeade Dr, Columbia TN 38401. The website states that they were open from 12pm till 5pm, so I arrived at 12:30 pm and oddly they were closed. I was upset because I have no car and I have to pay a taxi $18.00 to take me and bring me home, so it was a waste of money that I had to borrow since I don't have income. So I go back on tuesday 3/2/2021 they were open til 6pm, I arrived at 5:25 and they said they were doing there last one for the day which I don't understand why they refused to cut my hair because all I wanted done was my bangs and my dead ends but they still would not do it, that is very rude because I still had 35 minutes, so yet again I was out another $18.00. This might not matter to you all but it matters to me and it is very rude and unprofessional to do someone like that. Also I have my receipts from the taxi service. So you all don't have to worry about my business any longer because I will be going somewhere else from now on, somewhere that wants my business. I hope you all don't treat anyone else like this.

Desired outcome: My taxi fare back and a free haircut because it is not my fault you don't have your hours online correct.

Cost Cutters Choppy haircut

I brought two of my daughters in for a haircut. First I was overcharged for one of their haircuts. $19.95 for adults and $15.95 for children 10 and under. They charged me for an adult haircut for my 10 year old. The stylist wanted me to come back and they would fix it later. Not convenient for me, so I waited while they did fix the mistake. One of my daughters had a significant amount of hair taken off. She wanted to go fairly short, that wasn't the issue. The cut was extremely choppy and uneven. There was suppose to have been layers but you can barely tell. It looks as if she cut her hair herself without looking in a mirror. If this is how the stylist initially cut her hair, I didn't see her being able to fix it. Extremely upset. I want to be refunded for her haircut. We will now have to go elsewhere to try and salvage what we can since it's quite short already. She's 14. This is devastating to her.

Cost Cutters Stylist: decline to tell customer to put on mask

On 10/02/2020 cost cutter store at 13:45 a customer not wearing her mask, I sat in my stylist chair (Karen) Store #15697. I mention to the stylist: Hung Dang aka( Kristy) that her customer need to put her mask on. That Stylist wash the customer hair without the mask, dry her hair and style her hair. This company need to encouraged customers to wear face covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The salon, I went to has a policy requiring both stylist and their clients to wear face covering consistent with the local government ordinance. I didn't see this practice with Ms. Kristy (Hung Dang). Please advise your employee to following the CDC recommends. If this practice continue, I will take my business elsewhere.

Cost Cutters Hair cut

Hello,
I received extremely bad service at the Oak Ridge, TN Cost Cutters and my hair dresser was Diana. The haircut was so bad that it looked like a three year old cut off random chunks when I was asleep. I had to go to an expensive salon the next day and spend a lot of money to salvage as much of my hair as I could. I've attached the before and after pictures. The before picture is with the long hair and was taken two days before the after picture. It's worth noting that I went in for a trim! The experience was extremely distressing. I am writing to request at the bare minimum a refund.

Cost Cutters Customer service

On 6/18/20, I called Cost Cutters in Erie and made an appointment with Maria Chambers for a haircut on 6/26. Like everyone else, my hair was out of control from the pandemic lock down and I was looking forward to getting a long overdue haircut. On 6/26 at 1:41 p.m. (my appointment was at 2:30) I received a phone call from Maria. She seemed angry and told me that there was no way she could cut my hair that day, I should have told the one on the phone that my haircut takes more time than what is generally allotted for a haircut. I was caught off guard and didn't know what to say. She was ranting about all the preparations and hoops she has to jump through for her appointments as if I should have known. When she completed her somewhat loud chastisement, I was silent. At that point I was biting my tongue (something she should learn to do) to keep from biting her head off! That seemed to make her uneasy and she reluctantly offered me an appointment for a couple days later. I accepted and told her I would see her then, but I didn't say good-bye, just hung up. I guess that offended her.
My appointment was on 6/28. I arrived five minutes early. Her work station seemed ready and I was wearing a mask as required. There was one other customer and two hairdressers in the salon. It wasn't busy at all. I believe it was Joshua who acknowledged me and told me that she would be right with me...three times. I noticed her in the break room seemingly walking about, sitting, maybe having something to eat . Finally, 15-20 minutes later, she moseyed out into the work area and let me know she was ready for me. It struck me that this was a deliberate act on her part in retribution for my bad behavior in not using the proper salutation in ending our previous phone call. She didn't engage me much in conversation but was talking to the other two stylists about COVID masks, etc. I paid her in cash, her preferred method of payment, and added a $10 tip as I always do. It was a good haircut.
Now to my final appointment on 9/26. Let me preface: I generally get to the salon at least five minutes early. She is seldom on time but I've never been bothered by that. I often wait for 15 minutes to a half hour for my service. I've never complained. I was five minutes late for my appointment. For the first time in three years she was waiting at the front counter for me. The waiting area was filled to COVID capacity and her eyes were bulging out of their sockets. "You're late!" she snapped pointing her thermometer gun at my forehead as if it was another kind of gun, "I'm only five minutes late, " I answered. It seemed that we had the attention of the entire waiting room crowd. She continued her rant as she flamboyantly motioned to the ones awaiting their appointments and told me to hurry up. I sat down, and then I lost it. "You know what?" I said, "You go ahead and take care of the rest of your customer and I left. Her reply, a smug "Okay."
I've been seeing Maria for at least three years. She's somewhat rude in general, but nothing I couldn't handle. She has cancelled me a couple times with very little notice and she always seemed to have a valid reason...I've never questioned her and set up different appointments to accommodate her. I've even brought her cookies in the past to show a little extra gratitude. It was worth getting a good haircut, but no more. Trying to publicly embarrass me in front of her other customers was the last straw for me. I wonder if she bullies others like that. If she doesn't, she'll have to find someone new, because she's used me up...I hope I never see her again!

Cost Cutters Haircut

I showed up at 4:28pm for 4:30pm appointment. They told me to wait outside and they would come out and get me in a minute... No customers anywhere. Ten minutes later he finally strolls out. Talked quite a bit about how he wanted a cigarette, so i'm pretty sure that's why I had been waiting 10 minutes... He had a smoke while I waited over my time for a scheduled haircut. Charge $3 extra for some sort of "sanitation" fee. They have no business anymore (he told me this), so they apparently just jack up prices... One top of everything, I get home and my hair is crooked in the back. Will never go back to any cost cutters after about 15 years of. Going there

Cost Cutters Being charged a fee for cleaning because of the coronavirus

I don't think the customer should have to pay for the salon to clean. That should be the salons responsibility. I've been going to the Cost Cutters in Enfield, CT for 10 years but I will no longer go there. It isn't the amount it
I was charged it's the principle of the thing.
It's not even posted you're charging for that service.

Cost Cutters Getting highlights added

I paid 124.50 to have my hair serviced. I asked for blonde highlights and she decided to gain the look I showed in the picture to add a Peanut Butter (her words) color and highlight blonde. I turned yellow and orangish and the painting she did to "blend" made me look like pieces weren't done and created a very distinct line.
MaKenna (Manager looked and agreed it needed to be fixed. The last thing I wanted was to be more yellow and yet they added more blonde and gave me just that. The toner did nothing for the brassy color(s) she applied. The comment made was your hair pulls warm so that is why you got the yello tone. If that were the case why do it I specifically said no YELLOW. I have gone there before and they are very aware of this. So between two visits I am roughly 6 hours in and still hate the hair . I had to get it fixed and the best with the toner they achieved is the double pic top picture. I would like a full refund and I will promise to never get my hair serviced at Cost Cutters again . Cost Cutters The perm didn’t last a week

I have had several perms in my life and everytime they have lasted 7 or so months. This perm didn't even last a week! Cost me $150 to get it done and the lady screwed it up. She didn't even leave the rods in my hair for 10 minutes. I guarantee that's why it didn't last because she pulled them out way too soon! I will never again go there or recommend it to anyone! They don't even want to do anything about it!

Cost Cutters Not happy with my haircut at all and didn't get a receipt

Wnet to get my hair cut and it was cut too short and not cut evenly no reciept was provided either. I'm pissed I dont know the girls name but she had a hair lip with pink hair cutt short I have never been unhappy until now I cant get my hair back. I literally want to cry... ... who is going to fix this I will never go to this one again I have my hair in a ponytail I'm so unhappy

Cost Cutters highlights

My name is Janette Hicks,
I had an appoinment. on Jan 31st 2020 for highlights, I have medium brown hair color, looked blonde after I had hair colored. Went in for fix the next day which was the 1st of February. Still wasn't happy when I got home and was charged 30$ for the fix, on top of the 50$ previously for the appt. I'm not going back to that store again. To many problems in the past also. I don't want to go back, I've wasted enough time just getting the wrong outcome every time. The store was located in Mc Farland WI.

I would like the 30$ refund back to my card.

Cost Cutters haircut

On 12-14-19, my son and I were in the store for haircuts. I was in one chair and on the other side was my son. The lady asked how my son wanted his cut and I said we wanted a one guard on the side and three inches on top. My son asked me again because the lady seemed confused. I again stated we wanted a one guard with three inches left on top. Well the next I know my son said dad and as I looked over she had taken the guard down the center of his head. He was upset because his hair had been cut right down the center of his head. I stated he had his choice at that point to either cut it all that short or comb it over. He opted to comb it over and the lady stated you guys are stressing me out. In conclusion, I don't think I would have caught it even if I wasn't getting my haircut. She had just finished using the guard on the side and I would have guessed she was still using it on the side. Plus, to say we were stressing her out when she cut his hair off was not a good thing to say, especially to a 13 year old kid. They didn't charge us for the haircut, but I thought you should know what your employee did. The reason I am just writing this is because I had already phoned a compliant in, but no one ever responded back after giving them my information.

Cost Cutters mens haircut

My brother and I went in for haircuts and I got Melissa (she was amazing!) and my brother had Selina cutting his hair. He was very unhappy with the end result, the stylist was very curt with him, making communication difficult and uncomfortable. He tried explaining how he wanted his cut and how he styles his hair, however, she was quick to interrupt and state why she needs to use a certain guard to taper it the way she know how which she assumes he wanted. For lack of confidence and comfort with his slightly abrasive stylist my brother did not speak up. She finished the cut and asked if he wanted product in his hair. He said yes and then Selina made a statement with clear irritation about how now his hair is stuck to her hands and now she has to wash them. So while she went to wash her hands, my brother used her comb to attempt to get his hair to style how he normally does it. No success. He paid the bill, unsatisfied. Came home and ended up cutting / adjusting his already cut hair due to him feeling unheard and being unhappy.

My hair was still being cut, so Selina did another men's cut while my brother waited for me. That gentleman was also very I pleased with the turn out and felt unheard and frustrated by his end result. He did voice how he was very unsatisfied and therefore would not be coming back. I think they comp'd his cut. Unsure. But she didn't seem at all sorry or disappointed with how her last customer was unpleased. I'm not at liberty to say how or what Selina felt. I don't know her. I do however know how important customer service is, and unfortunately, I don't feel it's her strongest skill. Maybe we got her on a bad day, I'm not sure. But unfortunately in the customer service industry, we have to fake it. I understand we are all human, I'm not trying to be insensitive to whatever struggles or stressors she's dealing with, I just feel that it is important to know areas where we can improve. A haircut is a large part of someones image. It can really put a dent in a persons confidence.

Cost Cutters appointment

I would like to point out that Cost Cutters policy of making an appointment for hair cut is horrible. If a customer only needs a hair cut they have to walk in or call on the day the service that needs to be done, but they will gladly make an appointment for coloring and perming. Most of the time you have to wait even if you called on the day when you are supposed to be slotted for a certain time when you called. It seems like the only way to make an appointment get your slotted time is if you are going to have your hair colored or permed. Isn't it a discrimination against all other customers who can not get their hair cut? Importantly with their favorite stylist because that said stylist is the only one who have a good clientele. I have called and walk ins many times did not say a word but feel discriminated because I do not get a permed or coloring. If Cost Cutters only catered to those 2 services it needs to be pointed out. Unfortunately, I can not go somewhere else because it is hard to find a good stylist that
Know how to cut my hair.

When I was in another State I found my hair stylist at Cut Above, they too do not have an appointment policy but the huge difference is, it is for all services. First come first serve, unless you sign in online 15 minutes before arrival which much much better than being turned down because the appointments has been filled days prior. I feel that Cost Cutters are prejudice to other customers who do not need perm and coloring.

Cost Cutters hair conditioning treatment

I stopped in at 6 pm Monday, 11/18/19, one male customer in the salon getting a hair cut. I requested a Redken Conditioning shot & was informed that she did not have time because she had appointments. I have had these treatments before & they are fairly simple & quick. She just kept saying I have color appointments coming in. I have also had color appointments there several times & during my appointment, they attended to walk ins. I know that she could have multi tasked & done it IF she actually had a work ethic. She also worked at another salon I used to go to & I left that one because I didn't like how she didn't want to do any more than she had to there either. I stopped in W/O an appointment because when I tried to make an appointment for this service, I was told to just stop in because it didn't take long to do. I also need to get color done soon & I have spent hundreds of dollars in this salon but if this is how I will be getting treated, I will go back to the other salon.

Cost Cutters stylist

I went for just a rim today, when I went in I was totally ignored by the stylist, there was a sign which said cash only, which was fine, I just wanted to ask how much so I would need to know if I need to get more cash, she was rude when I ask, I tried to make small talk with her, I simply said oh they have you here by yourself today, she said no there is another girl here but I don't know where she is, she proceeded to sweep the whole salon clean her workstation and her brushes while I waited, I guess she was hoping the other girl would come back and she wouldn't have to trim my hair. She finally called me to her chair I have very short hair and just needed it trimmed up over my ears and at the neckline about a half an inch off all over, she never said one word to me as she was cutting my hair. I was relieved to get out of her chair and leave. I knew my hair was going to be messed up because she was very angry, Sure enough once I got home I realized how much she had messed my hair up. Her name was Penny and I will never return to that salon again and will tell everyone I know not to go there either.

Cost Cutters hair color

I went in today and showed a picture of the hair color that I would like. I wanted it to be dark brown highlights with my natural color as well as a hair cut. She cut my hair and I love it, but when it was all said and done the high lights are blonde. Very blonde. The woman that did my hair was very sweet and I thought I'd like it once my hair dried all the way, but it doesn't look good at all. I am supposed to be going to the Marine Ball in a week and now I need to get it done again before then. I'd like it to be re done but not at the same Cost Cutters.

Cost Cutters haircut

I went in to get some split ends cut off. I was expecting a trim of maybe an inch or two but left with 5 inches taken off! Not only did the lady brush my hair starting at the top and ripping down all the tangles to the end but also thought that cutting my hair while wet was the best choice. I also want to point out that the lady said she'd been cutting hair for 30 years. Doesn't every stylist understand that curly hair will look even shorter when it dries and bounces up to it's natural look. Another thing that had me confused was the idea that you can't hardly see split ends when hair is wet.. what was this lady going off of?
So the trim that I wanted turned into a complete haircut. I am very unsatisfied and upset.
