After being told 2,000 dollars would cover my costs. Since I filed all paper work myself. Being given hope that with them I would win in court. On my own I didnt have chance. I was totally torn apart by her attorney, in court. My attorney was way outclassed. A warrant being issued for my arrest. After I specificaly asked my attorney If I had to pay this 500.00. My attorney said no. 8,000.00 dollars later I settled for 14,000.00 dollars. a far cry from dismissal. this law firm is scandelous! Anything to get you in the door and run the bill up. BEWARE! Almost $20,000 in debt later, after a year of aggravation and stress, we can confidently say we would NEVER HIRE OR REFER CORDELL & CORDELL. Our first attorney mishandled our case (seems to be a recurring theme with this firm) and suddenly left the firm after we had paid $10K. We received a measly $1,000 credit. The negotiation for the credit was horrible. They do not care about their clients- it's all about the money! (The billing department was completely inept! We fought with them for months - they have no idea what they are doing!) Our second Cordell attorney tried, but we eventually lost our case and an additional $10k. Our experience with this firm was a nightmare!

Absolutely horrible law firm. I worked w/ the Philadelphia office and my attorney racked up the bill and did hardly any work, aside from a lot of emails and very little paperwork. She kept spinning her wheels with regards to moving my case along and I felt like I was trapped in this endless loop of her buying time and charging me for it. In the end, I got nothing accomplished while working with Cordell & Cordell. I can't suggest strongly enough to look elsewhere for attorney services. In addition, for cases as sensitive as divorce, Cordell & Cordell has a factory feel to them. Divorces just fall into their assembly link production: reel you in and then charge, charge, charge. Take the time and look elsewhere, I would have saved about $10,000 if I did.

In a state that has a history of stacking the deck against fathers and men, it is a tall order just to get to an "even" point to negotiate potential outcomes. Unfortunately, not much has changed. My attorney at Cordell Law worked hard to get me to a point where I could negotiate. She protected the interest of my child and my assets. Like most cases, we had mediation to resolve and settle our matters. I was kept informed and was well advised throughout the process. And unlike some, unfortunately, I understand the history of the SC Family court system. It has come long way but has a long way to go. I appreciate my lawyer helping make sure my situation was treated and handled in an expedient and fair manner. I didn't expect to hit a grand slam in Family court but a stand-up double was not a bad result.

I came to Cordell and Cordell in good faith seeking help in getting a divorce. They advertised as a firm that helped men, in particular, with divorce. I explained my situation and what I was looking to get done. They took my case and then proceeded to ineffectively perform their duties while constantly billing me. The case dragged on on, even after settlements were made from the other side. My attorney Mary Wise Phillips barely communicated with me and when she did it was only ineffective and expensive communication. She only communicated to bill me. Once I ran out of money, she and her bosses tried to gang up on me in a phone conference and tell me I was just seeing things the wrong way. I eventually found more effective representation. Mary still continued to bill me after I informed her that I no longer wanted her to represent me. She told me that she was still legally my attorney according to the courts, which was not true. End Cordell and Cordell took advantage of me and never intended to help me with me divorce in an effective way.

It was the best decision I ever made to hire Cordell & Cordell in St. Louis County, MO. Unfortunately, they weren't my first choice. I originally used a lawyer friend of the family and was losing badly in court even though I had a P.I. that proved my ex was cheating. She ( the ex ) filed all kinds of contempt of court motions and restraining orders against me that my current attorney didn't know how to handle. Once I hired Cordell & Cordell things turned around very quickly. Not only did I get half of everything in the bank, her 401k and her IRA. I also received 75% of real estate property because of her marital misconduct. I received alimony too. I also won all 7 contempt of court motions that she filed against me, and the restraining order was found not to have merit. Divorce is expensive regardless of any attorney you hire especially if it's contested and cheating is involved but, I had numerous attorneys working together on my case and combining their experience and knowledge for an excellent outcome. Horrible, the council they provided was either overworked or just new. She lost emails and I had to go into their office, and I got charged for this, to give the same information that I provided before. I would give an answer to what I would want to happen and get 3 emails back to "confirm" my choice and discuss other options and charged everytime of course. Twice she showed up at court last minute with zero time to discuss what was about to happen. Stated that the actual divorce complaint would be filed and dicussed of which it never was. After 10k, and 4 years they will not withdraw from the case even after I called and asked them to do so. She stated she could have the divorce finished and file paperwork in a day. She would lower her hourly rate to the consultation rate of $100 and finish it for me. When I said great she then went on and said I would have to put another retainer fee of $2,500 just in case it took extra work. I am assuming that meant if they lost an email and needed to dip their hands back into the cookie jar. Dealing with this firm was actually worse than dealing with my wife who is still not my ex after 4 years. They will not motion to remove themselves as council so I can attain another firm to finish this! THE WORST! Do not deal with the firm in

BEWARE I am just leaving a review in warning to anyone who might be considering this legal firm. After I agreed to their 125$ consultation I discovered that appointment was nothing but an intake appointment and in order to even speak to an attorney I need to pay an 1800$ retainer. I do feel that this was misleading but paid the retainer anyway. I was assured I would be contacted by the attorney within 24 hours. I was also told they were 150$ an hour. Turns out she was 250$ hourly and when she did get back to me three days later, she proceeded to go over the details of someone else's case. I was not impressed. We determined in our 10 minute conversation that I was not in need of legal assistance at this time. She agreed to write me a closing letter, and said that the remainder of my retainer fee would be refunded to me. This was around the 8th of March. I didn't get the closing letter till around the 24th, and my retainer was not refunded until April 15. Needs less to say I was not happy. The best part is they also mistakenly charged my credit card 2,150$ An oops that know one admits to making. I am STILL waiting on a refund for that amount, even though they were completely in error to have charged me. I cant tell you how badly organized this place is, no one really seems to understand what is going on or how to fix any problem. They are the LAST people I would want representing me in court. Its ridiculous! I'm leaving one star just because the form wont allow me to leave NONE.

Your reputation online is impeccable. Almost righteous! When I first researched your company, I was impressed with your history, reputation, and outward display of spirituality. It's quite impressive. I've tried the bill of goods and I'm calling you a FRAUD. Your name is sub-labeled, 'The partner you can count on'. I'm contesting that claim. You employed a FRAUD on your staff in Greenwood Village, Colorado. I paid over $15,000 to your law firm to be misinformed, misled, extorted, delayed and refused service. I'm being absolutely destroyed in my case with no representation. Your attorney withdrew from my case. Then left your firm. I'm desperate to find someone I can count on?

As the sole provider for a family of four, my situation wasn't pretty. I didn't want a divorce. My wife was leaving me and nothing was agreeable. I really needed help. I was assigned a retirement attorney. My Cordell attorney was dishonest & misleading. His advice was wrong. It led to multiple missteps during my case. We had two failed mediations; both of which were stopped by him. Ultimately, his plan was to delay everything till next year. I couldn't accept the failure so I pushed the negotiations myself. I gave up a lot. I gave hundreds of thousands, over the next ten years of my life. Gave up fighting for visitation. I literally got destroyed. Your attorney wouldn't come out from behind his email. After the sale of my family home and disbursement of funds, my attorney refused service. He wouldn't provide an escrow account that was documented in the separation agreement. I literally sat on the check for over a month hoping for service. His billing continued as our communication completely degraded. His assistant reached out after a month to 'catch-up' and quickly discovered that I had lost confidence and was seeking advice elsewhere. Your attorney withdrew without a conversation?with his client.

Enter your client mitigation team: Joseph, you have hit the ball out of the park. I now understand why your reputation is so impeccable. The filter is amazing! They are absolutely outstanding at the gate-keep, energized, and spirited at keeping the reputation alive. Do they have the authority to issue a full refund? Because I'm asking for a full refund and apology. The above referenced experience is still evolving. It speaks volumes that I've had more interaction with your client mitigation team than my disgraced attorney. I don't believe he represented you in good-faith either. I plan on launching a formal complaint against him with the Colorado Bar. Separate from this request. The pain he's caused is immeasurable and personal.

My name is John and I work as a truck driver and a police officer in Missouri. I hired Cordell & Cordell in November of 2018. My attorney, Mr. Smith, continued filing motions until May of 2019 when he discovered that the case had been finalized 5 months earlier and ruled on 6 months earlier. Afterward, my lawyer filed a motion to set aside the ruling. However, my lawyer's communication was terrible and he did not fight for me. He advised me to make deals to end the divorce and did not seem to care. Months passed and Mr. Smith was no longer handling my case. Mr. Johnson became my attorney and he acknowledged that something unethical had occurred in my case. Mr. Johnson was unable to locate the MDA agreement or the necessary paperwork to file for divorce. He stated that without those documents, it would not be possible to file or set aside the divorce. Mr. Johnson attempted to contact the opposing counsel but faced difficulties for weeks. I was then assigned a new lawyer, Ms. Davis. Ms. Davis tried to come up with parenting plans and an MDA agreement, but the other party refused to cooperate. We had a hearing, but Ms. Brown did not attend. As a result, the judge ordered mediation and gave us 45 days. This occurred in February 2022. However, Ms. Brown did not show up for the next mediation either. Ms. Davis scheduled a contempt hearing for September 15th, but it was canceled because Ms. Davis had moved on to another firm. I now have another lawyer, Ms. Taylor. Unfortunately, Ms. Taylor had other court matters on my scheduled court date, so I missed it on the 15th. It is now November, and I have gone through 4 lawyers and 4 years, spending over $10,000, yet I have never been to court for this case and I feel helpless. I have not heard from Ms. Taylor since October 10th, and her communication has been terrible. No one at this firm seems to care. I urge someone to review the file of documents and see all the issues. Then, please explain to me why I should not be writing this review. Cordell & Cordell is not living up to their 10 commandments of customer service.

In February 2020, I became a client of Cordell and Cordell and engaged the services of a dedicated attorney to assist me with allegations of false child support back pay and to pursue custody of my children. I invested approximately $6,000 before I was able to reach an amicable agreement with my ex-spouse. Eventually, she conceded to grant me custody of the children and to dismiss the erroneous back child support claims that the Texas Attorney General (TAG) was pursuing, which totaled $37,000. Throughout this ordeal, the TAG was deducting $1,000 monthly from my salary. The attorney I hired prepared a legal order that both my ex-spouse and I consented to, which nullified all child support arrears and awarded me primary custody of our two children.

Time elapsed, and I anticipated the return of the $6,000 that the TAG had accumulated. Contrary to my expectations, I was notified that this sum would be transferred to my ex-spouse. Despite the legal order explicitly stating that my child support obligations had been annulled, the phrasing of the order inadvertently obstructs me from reclaiming the withheld funds. This predicament is inequitable, and the authorities assert that the issue is irreversible.

So, I went to Cordell Cordell for help with my divorce and custody case. I shelled out a lot of dough over the course of a year, but I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the results. They made a few phone calls here and there, but they didn't really look into any of the stuff that was really important to me, like the safety of my boys. I mean, isn't that the whole point of hiring a lawyer? To make sure your kids are gonna be okay? Anyway, I wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for someone who's gonna fight for you and your family.

I gotta say, my experience with Cordell Cordell was not great. They charged me a whopping $1800 just to write a one page letter to my ex about custody violations. And then they kept hounding me to pursue a case that would just rack up even more charges. It was like they didn't care about my financial situation at all.

Honestly, I would warn any other guys out there to think twice before getting married, cohabitating, or having kids. Being a father in the West is just the worst decision I've ever made. I was surprised to see that he billed me for over 7 hours in just 2 weeks, especially since we never met face to face. It seemed like he was just doing paperwork and sending emails to increase the billable hours.

Cordell Cordell is a law firm that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. In my humble opinion, they are just like the lawyers you see in the movies, always billing for every little thing and not really doing anything to help your case move forward. It seems like they only care about the amount of hours they can bill you for. It's no surprise that they target men, as they are often seen as the breadwinners and therefore, more likely to have money to spend on legal fees.

They don't seem to care about the emotional toll that a divorce can take on a person, or the impact it can have on their family. All they care about is how much they can charge you for their services.

They are not interested in helping you get a fair outcome, and they will only add to the stress and anxiety that you are already feeling. If you want a law firm that actually cares about their clients and is willing to fight for their rights, then you should look elsewhere.

I recently hired Cordell Cordell to help me with my divorce case. They asked me to pay $5,700 upfront and then another $5,700 just 15 days later. I was really upset when they threatened to stop representing me if I didn't pay.

Luckily, I didn't have to go to court because I was able to work things out with my ex-wife within 10 days of hiring them. However, I was really disappointed with the service I received from Cordell Cordell. They gave me a rookie attorney who didn't seem to know what he was doing. He didn't do anything to help me and I felt like I was on my own.

To make matters worse, the opposing attorney was really aggressive and Cordell Cordell didn't seem to be doing anything to help me. I felt like they were working for the other side instead of for me.

Finally, I had a really bad experience with their collection department. They were really pushy and seemed more interested in getting their money than in helping me. I think their collection practices are really predatory and they should be investigated.

Overall, I would not recommend Cordell Cordell to anyone. They are not a good law firm and I think people should stay far away from them.
