My wife filed for divorce in August of 2021, I searched around and found the "Dad's Rights Lawyer" and bought into the hype, Paid their huge retainer and waited for the divorce to start. Fast forward a year and a half, They advised me to constantly compromise on everything and never seemed willing to actually go to bat for me, just always advised me to settle to avoid court costs. My wife and her lawyer apparently had a strategy of just dragging their feet on everything as much as possible and allow my lawyers to continue running up my bill, which they did, to the tune of anywhere between $3000-$8000 a month. Within a year and a half I had already paid these people over $35,000 and still owed $35,000 more for doing not much but sending emails telling me to agree with my my ex-wife wanted. I'd go weeks or even a month at a time with no update other than the monthly bill, and if you called them to ask what's going on they'd charge you $250 bucks for that 5 minute phone call.

I made my $1500 a month payment on time every month as was agreed upon between me and their financial department when out of the blue they called me and said I owed to much and they would be filing a motion to withdraw. Due to the compromises they basically shoehorned me into (including paying my ex-wife's lawyer fees somehow) I was no longer making enough money to continue paying their insane bills. So here I am a year and a half later, with this divorce basically at 99% completed (by me compromising at every turn at thier insistence) and I now have to finish it representing myself anyway.

And to top it off the best they could manage to negotiate was me getting my kids every for Spring Break every other year, 1 week at Christmas, and for about half of the Summer.

Stay away from this firm, they don't care about you, they don't care about your kids, they talk a good game and then allow you to be screwed over and over by the opposition all the while racking up a huge bill they know you cant afford to pay, then they drop you like a bad habit right before the finish line.

I went to them for help with my custody case and they were *** amazing. They really know their stuff and were *** helpful throughout the whole process. I felt like they were *** on my side and fighting for me and my rights as a dad. The *** staff was also great and always *** answered my questions and concerns. I would *** recommend them to anyone who needs help with a custody case. They are *** worth every penny and I am *** grateful for all their hard work.

I had a good experience with the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, LTD. They have a great lawyer named *** who is really good at family law. She helps parents get their fair share of time with their kids.

Don't go to this firm, they'll take all your money. I paid 17k and didn't even make it to court after more than a year. They filed my case wrong and now I'm paying even more to fix their mistakes. They didn't do anything for me, just charged me for everything.

The Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd. is a really good law firm! I recommend them for any family law stuff. Without their help, I wouldn't have had the good results I got. They did more than I expected. A lawyer named *** took on a really hard case and had problems that no one saw coming. She worked really hard to make sure the truth came out and did it perfectly. She helped me with everything and the process was long. Even though we had problems, *** didn't give up. Thanks for helping me with my severance agreement and the threat of going to court. I like how honest and helpful she was. I'll remember you if I or someone I know needs a lawyer.

Don't go to this law firm, they are terrible! They just want your money and don't care about being honest or ethical. They lied to me about the cost of my uncontested divorce and charged me over 15K for nothing. Other lawyers can do the same thing for way less. They also take forever to respond to emails and calls, and charge you for pointless meetings with other lawyers you'll never see again. They even made me pay for mediation, which wasn't even required for my case. I fired them after 6 months and found out they have a bad reputation for scamming people. Stay away from this firm, they'll only make your situation worse. I wish I could give them 0 stars!

I wouldn't give any stars if I could. Let's start from the beginning. The court system hit me with $1000 a month in support, so I went to Jeffery Leving to reduce it. I met with a lawyer who said my case was easy and charged me $5000 upfront. I agreed because I didn't know what I was doing. I hired them in July and started getting monthly bills. They said they were working on a custody agreement to reduce support. I paid the first bill in full, but then they started sending me $2000 bills every few weeks. I got on a payment plan, but they kept sending more bills. I still haven't been to mediation and it's December. They just took my money and put me in a bigger hole. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, especially young black men who don't know how this works. I have other kids to take care of and was trying to do this the right way. They put me underwater faster than my child's mother did. I told them I don't want them to represent me anymore because I can't afford the $7000 balance. They put multiple attorneys on my case without telling me. Just learn from my mistake and save yourself the trouble. Word is bond.

This is my last review. I ain't got nothing left and I ain't gonna keep going here. But I gotta tell y'all my story so you don't end up like me. I went to this place for help, but they just took me for a ride. They don't care about you, they just wanna take all your money. They're liars and they're the most dishonest people I've ever met. My ex-wife's got a new man and they don't want me seeing my son anymore. I used to see him twice a week, but now it's hard to even get a hold of him. I went to the cops and they said I needed a lawyer, so I called these guys. They called me back right away and I paid $100 for a consultation. The lawyer told me I had two options, one for $4,000 and one for $6,000. I asked if I could pay some now and some later, but he said no. I split the $4,000 on two credit cards, but one got rejected. I made a payment to get it through, but then I got a bill for $11,000! I sent three emails saying I couldn't afford it, but they just kept asking for more. They took advantage of me when I was desperate and now they're walking away. They did nothing for me and charged me almost $20,000. This firm is pure evil. Don't talk to them, don't let them drag you in. They'll use you and hurt you. They're not here to help you.

I called these guys for legal help with my custody battle against my baby mama. I paid $125 for their help, but they didn't give me any. When I called to ask for my money back, they were super rude to me. I even asked to speak to a manager, but they put some dude on the phone instead of a lady like I wanted. Not cool.

I got charged for services that I never got. They tricked me. I agreed to work with one lawyer, but then they gave my case to another lawyer who I never even met. I gave them a lot of money, like $5000. We only had two meetings and they said they used up all the money. We never even went to court. Then they sent me a bill for more services that they never did. When I read other reviews, I felt really bad because it seems like they do this to everyone. They say they help poor people, but really they just take advantage of people who are in trouble. Something needs to be done right away.

I went to Jeffery M. Leving's Law Office on April 3, for help with my child support case. They told me to bring $125.00, which I paid. I met with Attorney Poole, who said my case would cost $4000.00 and be done in 30 days because we're in Chicago. But that was a lie. I paid $8182.50 plus $125.00, and my case still isn't settled. They keep calling for more money, saying it's the final bill, but won't answer my calls. How can it be the final bill if we haven't been to court? They owe me a credit because they double-charged me. They opened a new case, and it looks like I'm not responding to their summons. Please help me close this case because I was misled about the cost.

We used this law office to help us with a custody case for our son and his two daughters. It took a long time, like two years, and every time we went to court, it seemed like nothing happened. It was really frustrating. I think they just wanted to make more money by dragging it out. Our lawyer was always late and didn't talk to my son much before court. We had to pay for two lawyers, which was really expensive, and they charged us for meetings together, which was ridiculous. I don't think they really cared about our son because they just did whatever the mother wanted. They didn't even ask our son what he wanted. We spent a lot of money on testing and therapy for our son, but it didn't help. The mother didn't have to do any of that. It was a joke. They want $140,000, but we could have done just as well without them.

My divorce started in November and it's been a mess. I paid around $50,000 and now I have to pay over $1100 every month for spousal support. They said it's because I paid off my condo, but that's a lie. I gave them all my financial information when I first went to their office. I even told Attorney *** that I took money out of my *** to start the divorce process. They messed up a lot of things too. They tried to mail the papers to one of my wife's fake names in Melrose Park and said we didn't live together. But when I told them about her fake names, they couldn't find anything. My wife lived in this country as *** (her sister who lives in Trinidad). They said she wouldn't have access to my ***s, but in February 2022 they said she did. They also gave my wife a lot of time to respond, but they only gave me 4 days to respond to the Spousal Support Agreement. They said it was based on my high income after withdrawing funds from retirement. If I knew it was based on my 2020 tax return, I would have prepared my 2021 taxes sooner. They also said I paid off my condo, but they have all my financial documents including my mortgage. I told them I have Depression and Anxiety, but they didn't seem to care. This whole process has been traumatic for me.

I paid $125 for a consultation with Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, LTD in January for a custody case. They said we couldn't go to trial or mediation until June and asked if I still wanted them to represent me. I said yes and paid $3000 of the $6000 total. Two weeks later, I felt unsure about their service and wanted to go somewhere else. When I told them, their office clerk called me and my mother to convince us to stay. There has been abuse and false restraining orders, but my lawyer said there wasn't enough evidence in June. It's now December , and their assistant terminated service with a BS excuse about an IEP. They also charged me for unauthorized background checks. I'm owed $6125.00, and my child is being alienated and manipulated. There was enough evidence to have this done by June , but it never happened because of lack of service.
