I paid the whole amount in cash. After few days I went to exchange the item because I need some wrapped bounty towel. The manager refused to exchange it.

I worked for a large supermarket not names right now I am a butcher and was working on a sat night by my self from around 3:30 that after noon the time was now 8:40pm 20 min before I got off work and I broke down all the saws in my dept. That we use to cut steaks I was in the middle of throwing out the garbage before I was to go home when I remembered my wife asked me to pick up some steaks I got a rain chk from customer service that closed at 9pm also the next day when I came in to work I was called up to the office and told I was being being written up for and suspended pending human resources for getting a rain chk when there where still steaks left in the case I told the store manager that there where only like 10 steaks left in the case and it would have not left any stakes for the customer so I called the union they setup a meeting with mangement and they decided to discharge me on the basis of integertiy I worked there 18 months and only got written up for being late so I applied for unemployment and it was granted for 4 weeks then I got a letter of retermined determination that I was denied for violation of policy and misconduct now in the store manuel it is not a violation to get a raincheck so now I have no source of income for my family I have filled out about 30 alpplications and followed with them still nothing I put I a request for a hearing with my claim plus now we are very close to getting a loan mod on our home we are in forclosure now everything I fought so hard for is over they did not tell the labor board the truth also have my union delegete on recording confirming something is not right that hehas never heard someone getting fired for a raincheck

Recently while stopping in at ShopRite in Old Bridge NJ one evening after work I was verbally attacked in front of my wife and children by members of the night crew. The workers were standing in back by a meat case talking loudly and laughing, as I passed by I seen one of the workers eyeing my wife and baby daughter. This didn't bother me much as to I am used to it, but after we passed and was in an aisle I overheard one of them say loudly if they seen the "mongoloid" and they all broke out laughing. I heard the word repeted several times accompanied by much laughing and them accusing each other of being a mongoloid. I wanted to say something but my wife said to just let it be. You see it hurt me deeply because they were laughing at my 2 year old daughter who has Down Syndrome. I mean, I am used to the stares but the comments these workers made were totally inappropriate, mean spirited and hurtful. I promised my wife never to shop in ShopRite again. I asked a cashier their names while checking out and was told it was Marty and Todd. I wanted to call the owners and make a complaint but my wife said to let it be and I did.
It sounds like you and your friend Marty are the incompetent workers there in ShopRite Todd and should be ashamed of yourselves, but I doubt you have enough feelings to even feel shame or even realize how hurtful your words were and could be. You said of saying your mean-spirited words to other workers there but it's strange how it was said loudly after we pass with a child with Down Syndrome. It was obviously aimed at my young daughter and thinking back it still makes me sick knowing that people can be so cruel and heartless in this day and age.
My religion has taught me to forgive others and with this I do forgive you Todd but it's sad to see there are still uncaring, cold-hearted people out there especially when verbally attacking innocent, helpless children like my daughter.

I ordered a 1/4 inch birthday cake with chocolate frosting, bavarian cream in the middle and a few strawberries on the top of the cake. I sent my husband to pick up our daughters birthday cake and he brought it to her home as a surprise. A surprise it was ! The cake tasted by perfume had been spilled in the middle of the cake. Our daughter and her family returned the cake for us to try and, we had to throw away our pieces of cake cause it tasted exactly like perfume. I noticed that the cake had white whipped cram frosting and strawberries int he middle. I immediately e-mailed Shoprite customer service depatment and no reply ! I tried again to contact the store with no avail ! This was my third e-mail and still no reply from the store ! This is no way to treat good customers of the store ! We are sadly disappointed with the end results ! I will certainly think twice before ordering from tyhis bakery again !
I visited Shoprite, Pimville Square, in Soweto today at 6:45pm (like any other day) with the intention of buying some queens cakes and juice for my daughter's lunch box. Normally, when I'm buying 1 or 2 items I pay by the Kiosk. To my surprise today I was told otherwise by the cashier, whom just immediately served a gentleman before me with 1 item. She said I was not allowed to pay for groceries outside of the Kiosk and therefore needed to pay at the trolley tills. However, this did not make sense as I am used to paying at the Kiosk (I did it 2 days back) and the gentleman before myself was served without any hassles. What made it even worse was that all customers behind me with 1 or 2 items were still being served, while I was sent pillar to post by the supervisor, who intervened. I told her that I was not prepared to queue since I waited for about 30 minutes before I was served because the cashier has a problem with a lotto transaction. I also explained to her that paying at the Kiosk for 1 or 2 items was a norm and she told me that "cashiers are not same" and sent me to a trolley till, where I waited for about 10 minutes as the cashier was busy on a transaction. However, the cashier also decided not to serve me because I came from the Kiosk. When I went back to supervisor, she told me that I must go at the back of the queue as the Kiosk was only for cigarettes. My husband and I were very agitated and decided to leave the items because we felt that we were made fools as other customers behind us continued paying for their goods (that did not belong) at the Kiosk. I am very upset at this stage and feel very disrespected and humiliated. I reside in the area and my family and I really enjoy Shoprite's queens cakes and were actually discussing ordering them in bulk for our customers since we are in the food business. I'm still puzzled and cannot put it together. It does not make sense at all. Is the Shoprite policy different for all cashiers? Why do Shoprite staff treat customers differently or according to appearance?

There fish is fresh but can be in the case for more than a week and be sold fresh . Previously i seen food be dropped and sold to the customer as they werent looking, thats horrible! half of the signs on the fish arent correct "COO" Country Of Origin is very important and can be a huge fine for that old bag up there. THE PRODUCE department is HORRIBLEEEE and run by kurt who drinks on company time, the food is moldy and constantly getting reduced especially if something is bad in the package they will open it up and put in ther eown packages and reduce for 99 cents. The workers of the store smoke and spit all over the food in produce, thats not safe at all. no wonder why people get siick. THE HABA department never has anything in stock, and always runs out of items on sale. THE GROCERY department is run by a tall ogre/frankenstein looking mother f***er named mark aka the nark. Hes the snitch of the store, he always finds ways to get himself out of trouble so he harasses other people. THE FROZEN department is run by a little meat ball named benny. THE FRONT END girls are rude to customers and dont know when to stop starting rumors about nothing. THE PHARMACY is full of dot heads so we wont go into that.

CHARLIE SHAKOOR ... the fatest ugliest mother f***er around, the only reason we keep him around is to see his beautiful wife using him for his money. charlie, demands food that has fallen or rotren to get packaged and put out. he sleeps in his office all day, talks jibberish when he yells and watchs us from home on his cameras that he installed. charlies makes sexual remarks about girls that work there and is caught up in everyones drama whrn he tries to prevent it hes in the middle of it. charlies does favors for employess if it benefits him .charlie is very greedy with money, thank god he is gone sooon. all and all no ones a saint but this store is horrible. thank god it will be under new owner ship shortly, the store can finally be run right!

Mr. Kingsley, I have worked for and have been associated with the Old Bridge ShopRite back in 2000 and 2001 investigating claims of racism, drug dealing and employee theft while working for Wakefern security. I can assure you that this store in not up to standards as for the ShopRite name. This particular ShopRite is by far the worst as for customer service is concerned and has had numerous complaints in recent years about the evening and the nightcrew.
I have worked with this nightcrew and have even gotten to know several workers on a personal level. The two fellows you speak of have a number of complaints for their use of the M and the N word and for general rudeness and excessive cursing while the store is open. This is a privately owned store though and am unsure what the owner has done to prevent these two from carrying on their ways.
Wakefern has been in talks for years to buy this store and let it be known that a number of troublemaking workers and a couple of managers will be replaced with competent workers asap. As I said, this Old Bride ShopRite is privately owned and is NOT up to ShopRite standards and has had a number of such complaints you spoke of. I understand how you feel having a special needs child myself and would like to personally apologize. I have sent you a private message here with my personal email address, I'd like to talk to you privately about this matter and send you a gift card for you to use at another store. Shopping with my 5yr old... Short and to the point.. Any parent knows how it can be shopping with a a child that doesnt want to be there, or wants a toy or anything and wont stop..
I was one of those parents... Paying the cashier and not realizing I forgot a small item I had place at the top of my bag.. I shouldnt have done that tobegin with,, but my bag was open and overflowing, I wouldnt forget it it right? Not if I through other things on top and it got pushed around in my suitcase..
Security guard grabbed my wagon on the way out.. Took my picture in his tiny room with my daughter on my lap.. Sign a paper or have a lawyer.. I explained this was a compete accident and would pay for the item.. But in there eyes (Rent a cop) once u leave the cashier... U are now a thief, a hard criminal! At least that is how I was made to feel...
If they left the police out of it and signed a form of which I dont even recall what ist was, because I was so distraught.. I would not have a record! So I signed this paper and he says there is one more... Now I must pay a fee of$75.00!
I was so humiliated! I had to sort of explain to my daughter why we were in there after about nine times from her why she wasnt getting the toy from the machine!
After thinking this over I called and asked for a copy of the document..

I went to buy some food for my apartment. This Shoprite accepts the local university fincinal aid dollars as payment. When I went to pay I stood there for 15mins while they customer service manager, Catherine, tried to run it through. Then after 15mins. she came back over and said that it was not working and that I could not use that. It was the only form of payment I had and I just spent over 1 hour shopping and almost as long waiting to get checked out. The whole time she was talking to me she was rude and DID NOT have the type of customer service you would expect from a "Customer Service manager". I then asked her to get the store manager. This tall doofy guy, Dominic, came over WITH SECURITY to tell me the same thing as the other lady. I found it comical and laughed when I asked who the guys were and found out they were some RENT-A-COPS. It was embarassing and there was no reason to have brought security over. I explained to him that you accept this form of payment, why am I not being allowed to use it. He said they could not get it to work...How is that my problem? They did not try other means ie contacting the school to see what else they could do etc. Also they copied my information down from my student ID, which was absoultely unnecessary! An official complaint was filed with Shoprite 1800 number and I will prusue this till I feel the sistuation is rectified to my statification.

I went to Shop Rite in Old Bridge on Rt 9 North by the Ferry Roud. I wanted to get some cheese and ham for my family breakfast. I was very surprised when instead of thank you I got harassed by one of the workers for making they work hard for my order! Worker talked about me with her co-workers in front of my face with her back turned to me. I got my order with an attitude that has been almost throwing into my face. In addition I got comments about my hair and my clothes. After feeling awful I spoke to the manager and I got the same attitude! WOW! So when I got home soaking in up and opened my shopping I opened the packet and it smelling bad. I felt harassed, unfair, humiliated for shopping and choosing to spend my money at the SHOP RITE! I got back, and asked them to try what they sell. They pretended along with the manager whose name is CHRIS that they don't know what I am talking about. All I said that if I ended up in the hospital after eating this they can be sure I will sued them all! NEVER AGAIN I GO TO THIS STORE!
By the way I know they didn’t take me serious. But I take my family serous. That is why I will not leave it alone and will write to whose above them.

I have been going to Shoprite Middestad and there is one particular manager that I always find very rude, this lady manager doesn't know how to treat the staff, she is forever shouting at the staff and I feel that she doesn't respect them nor the work they do. I always seem to find her shouting the cleaners in her office (door open) does not care what the customers say, I believe that cleaners should be treated like any other human being as they do the most hardest job that not everybody wants to and that needs to be acknowledged & also be appreciated. This lady manager she is Muslim & this is not a discrimination kind of complaint but she doesn't treat the staff equally from what I have seen every time I visit the store and she also lacks customer etiquette as I once saw her shouting at the cleaning lady for trying to assist & advising the customer on what they need to do if they cannot find what they are looking for in the aisle
I have been a loyal shop rite customer at Brown's in Brooklawn, NJ. Two years ago when they started shopping on-line I was completely satisfied. This past year I have received wrong items, broken seals and have called to complain. I have sent home delivers back because they have arrived over 2 hours late and just not come all, with no calls to explain. April 29, 2016 I placed an on line delivery between 1& 3 pm, shop rite called to ask if they could come early at 12:00 order was in truck I said yes. They delivered at 3:50 pm after I had to call shop rite, waited 4 hours. Arrived with two broken gallon water bottles and bags full of water. Had to go to shop rite for manager who was polite and helpful but I was already more then upset. I will not be using Brooklawn shop rite again and I recommended delivery and pick up to many family and friends. A truly disappointed customer. Dawn Rebstock
We tried to use the Online Coupons, at Absecon New Jersey Shoprite, but they didn't work. We selected them a couple days ahead of our shopping trip, and they still didn't work. We tried Campbells Homestyle Soup, getting 4 cans for $1.00 off On Line Coupon, and 2 Boxes of Cheeze Its, for $1.00 off, On Line Coupon. Can you fix this problem ?
Mike Horn that works in the Shop Rite of Franklin, in Franklin, NJ 07416 is the rudest person I ever met. He has the personality of a wet noodle. Never says excuse me or thank you-just stands there and waits for you to move! Something has to be done about him.
My aunty went to put money ay Shoprite Golden Walk Mall. She sent me the reference number without a pin. She later gave me the pin over the phone. Few days later I went to cash the money, to my surprise, the teller showed me the screen of the till"Error money received". I immediately call Aunty to investigate. Only to tell her it was received at Rosettenville but they don't tell her at list by who or ID number. I didn't receive the money, she keeps the pin in her head, so who took the money? I always thought it was safe to put money at Shoprite, but somehow its not and they can't give you all the information you need as the person who is put the money in the first place.

I stopped going to the ShopRite in Old Bridge after over 30 years of shopping there. In fact I worked there briefly many many years ago and seen how the place changed after the newest owner took over. I seen many changes there and have seen people come and go. Recently though, in the past few years the store has went down and the attitude of the workers is aweful. That along with the quality of the produce and appitizers makes it one of the worst grocery stores in the area. Now I shop up the road at A&P, and although a wee bit more expensive I find it a most pleasant place to shop with a better quality foods available.
The managers at ShopRite (Dave and Russell) had always been helpful and friendly though, even going out of their way to help me and my wife. It's certain workers attituses that are horrible. I've added my own complaint about the name calling I've experienced here by certain members of the night crew. That was last straw when running into these guys and vowed to never shop in ShopRite again.

I just started going to the Metro Plaza ShopRite at Jersey City(07302) and I have to say the experience has been horrible.
Each time I use coupons the cashiers become so rude and have also had the manager showing faces or throwing remarks about it. Instead of politely mentioning if they won't accept a certain coupon they pass snide and sarcastic remarks as if it's a crime to have coupons!
This kind of passing remarks and rude attitude is a complete customer harassment and discrimination, something that I haven't seen anywhere else.
Today, I picked up a Stainless Steel Cleaner and had a coupon with me. The manager literally threw the coupon back saying they won't take it. It was so embarrassing.They made it seem as if I had just done a crime! What kind of a stores is the Shoprite brand running and I wonder what are there policies on customer service? I refused to take the product and left. The manager was still huffing over it. The coupon which I had shown was a valid coupon from the manufacturer's website. The whole ordeal turned out to be a nightmare instead.

I would like to complain about shoprite poor services they have always had a reputation of bad services but the time it has gone bad, a supervisor of shoprite physically attacking one of the shoprites customers that was indeed the worst experience I have ever had, yesterday my sister and I went to shoprite to purchase some goods and when asking her to help us out she completely refused as if we where forcing her to do her job, this is shoprite Dube by the way the worst shoprite ever the name of the supervisor was Mpho did not get her surname. I was buying some grocery's at the Shoprite of Northvale. My total for my grocery's was $28.18. I gave the cashier $40 but the cashier said I only gave him $30. Shoprite cashiers want a lot of money so be careful of what they do!

Potato and onions was supposed to be $1.99 I was charged 2.49. Mozzarella and Ricotta was supposed to be 2.99 mozzarella was 3.49 and ricotta was 3.59. Ravioli was supposed to be .99 4 r variety. I boout 4 large and 4 small and they charged me 1.59. And check mix 2 for 5 they charged me $3.49.

Don't be so quick to judge: Our policy on cash control is that if our drawer is over by $5, we get placed on registers closer to our managers, and if this continues, we get fired. I'm now working for a different company, and believe me when I say that Shoprite is not the store that's trying to rip you off...
Im a cashier at the shop rite of northvale. You people accuse us of all these stupid things. but if you werent so stupid.. you would realize. that our tills get counted every night.. for something like 10 dollars. we can be fired. so stop talking crap and get over it. your wrong.
accomodating the handicapped
I have been a regular shopper at the shoprite in carmel, ny since 1983, when it opened its doors to the public. A year ago, I became handicapped. I cannot use a regular shopping cart, therefore I rely on a motorized cart. There are two of them in the whole store and do not run properly. Also, it is very difficult to maneuver out of where the 2 carts are kept. I've complained to one of the managers on 2 or 3 occasions, with no result. I've called the 800# twice, no one has returned my calls. Since I am in lots of pain today because of shopping yesterday with a regular cart, i've decided to try contacting someone in customer service by email. I am angry because of the pain i'm in and the inconvenience the store has caused me. I am tired of being courteous, as it seems to me, my case is not being taken into consideration. I could shop at another supermarket but prior to recently, i've preferred to patronize shoprite in carmel, new york. I hope someone will get back to me and resolve my complaint.

online gift card purchase - not worth the trouble!
I purchased a shoprite gift card on dec 19 2006 at 11am in the amount of $25.00 from the shoprite website. It stated on the website that if you ordered by end of dec 19, I would receive it for christmas 2006. It is jan 22 2007 and we still have not received this item. I contacted via email shoprite on dec 27 2006 indicating that we hadnt received it. I never received an email. On dec 30 I called shoprite via the 1-800 # and spoke to I a woman named carol who stated " there was an error in the ordering and the shipping information was missing, I was working alone that day and didnt have the time on account she was swamped with 80 orders that I had to process myself to go email you back to get the correct information, so she let it go. I asked why the computer accepted and processed my credit card. Carol stated the computer isnt programmed to pick up on errors of that nature. I asked her to cancel that gift card out and sent me out a replacement card. She stated she wouldn't do that and she will wait until the original card was returned to shoprite and then and only then would she reissue a new gift card. I verified my information with her and she said she would send it when it comes back. I felt this was ridiculous, sometimes it takes months for items to be returned back the sender, why couldn't she just cancel that card in light of the inconvenience I was subjected to and send out a new gift card, this was a christmas gift. Carol called me on jan 5 2007, saying that she will cancel out the gift card and send out a replacement card asap.
It is now jan 22 2007 and still no card. Im very unhappy with the customer service I have been provided with your company. I have been a regular shopper with shoprite for over 10yrs. I felt this woman was very unprofessional and has done a disservice of representing shoprite and wakefern, especially when she stated she was too busy to check the information because she was overloaded with 80 orders. Being the large corporation that shoprite is, more staff should have been available to meet the demands of the gift card orders during the holiday season, and not to provide a very unprofessional excuse that she was too busy. The website stated if you order by dec 19 2006, you would receive it by dec 25 2006. The gift card was only being mailed to long island ny. I understand it is a busy time but I never received 1 email explaining the problem or offering at least an apology.
Today I received an email that they would send out the gift card out again and I would receive it within 2 days. I feel after all the aggravation shoprite and wakefern has put me through, they should at the very least double the gift card amount.
A warning to anyone looking to purchase gift cards on www.Shoprite. com, do not worth the trouble

I bought milk at Shoprite Mayfair on the 11/11/2023 at 12:29, tried making tea the same day at 16:05 and the milk is spoilt. This is unacceptable as the best before date on the milk is 14/01/24. The brand of the milk is Crystal Valley full cream long life. I'm disappointed. Do better.
