Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how O'Reilly Auto Parts handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with O'Reilly Auto Parts and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

O'Reilly Auto Parts retaliation

As a member of this team for over 8 years, 6 years as a District Manager and 2 as a store manager I was treated unfairly, by my VP Chad Keel and my RM Ernie Whitmore. I relocated my family 3 times for this company and was a DM of the year award winner for region 20 in 2009. After relocating to Tucson AZ in 2011 my usual performance/drive was derailed by my new RM as his style of leadership is sarcasm and negativity totally took me off of my game. Never having a bad review and being an award winner, I never expected to become so disconnected by 1 person. It is no wonder Tucson has never performed under his leadership, we are the red headed step child of the Phoenix market. After sending a response to a e-mail in Sept 2013 I have endured being put on probation for my performance ( which was never an issue before) and I stepped down to store manager to avoid directly having to deal with this RM and still my review was terrible for the 1st time in my life (surprise, surprise) and he even went so far as to adjust my pay by $5500 a year with notifying me. After I got that reinstated, he has started to show up on my days off to get dirt on me from my team members even after I filed a complaint to the company HR dept about retaliation. So I gave them a months notice and resigned yesterday and they accepted my resignation but didn't need my services anymore. What a great company, not! I cannot believe that HR and upper management are so ignorant not to see this guys true colors. What a shame! David O'reilly should be really proud!

This is the absolute Worst company in the world to work for. Ernie Whitmore is a puppet to the Oreilly’s who in themselves are known traitors to not only their people but their Country. Stay very very far away from this company. They are evil to their core and smile as they hold hands with the Devil himself.

I personally think store managers in this company are treated as puppets by district managers and regional managers which they tend to do a lot micromanagement.

O'Reilly Auto Parts manager mistreatment of employee

This has been bothering me for days and I just have to say something; How is it that a manager can verbally abuse his employee right in front of customers, and get away with this! I've been a customer of this store for a while; I have been in this particular location a few times in the recent couple of months and two times, this poor female employee (that seems to be going about her happy day at work, ) all of a sudden is being verbally attacked while customers in the store awkwardly are witness to this mistreatment from this manager! How is it that this manager is still employed, or even has earned this position!? She was obviously upset by his treatment during both incidences. This is not a good management practice, whether the employee needs to be reprimanded or not, (and it really didn't appear as though this was the case either time), it seems more like she is in the wrong place at the wrong time. He should be pulling his employees aside and talking with respect in private about whatever his issue is. I have been a manager of numerous employees for many years, and I know he IS NOT management material and should be demoted to "clerk". For the record, the manager on duty with this demeaning treatment is known as (name tag) "Lorne", and the employee we witnessed being mistreated was (name tag) "Quiana". I'm expecting that if these two people are there next time I am shopping, that there is a pretty good chance I will see the same happening again. I have half a mind to speak up, but don't want to cause MORE abuse for any employee that crosses Lorne's path! Please, do something about this!

O'Reilly Auto Parts sexual discrimination

After working for several years in managment at one of our local parts stores and O'Reilly store opened in our town and I was offered a managment position there with better hours and pay so of course I took it, what I didn't realize was how badly I would be treated. I was employed there for about three and a half months when I was fired. They refused to give me a reason for letting me go, I showed up to work everyday and was never late I did my job and I did it well but for some reason I was terminated. At my 45 day review I was told that I did not fit the image a woman was supposed to fit and that I needed to buy a hair straightener because my curly hair looked too frizzy and that I needed to be more womanly (wear makeup) because when these men came in the door they expected to see a certian kind of woman. A few weeks later while making the schedule I put myself and another female employee down to close together, later that day my store manager told me that had to be changed because two women couldn't close together, he stated it was a company policy because men would leave if they saw only women in the store. When I called HR about it I was directed to our area investigator who was a man and told me that I needed to talk to my DM so I called him and he told me that was not a policy and he would talk to our store manager. the next day i got pulled into the office by the store manager and yelled at for going above his head to ask about this so called policy, he told me he couldn't trust me because of it and that the DM had told him two women couldn't work together. I was later shown an email by another employee between the DM and store manager discussing women opening and closing together, as it turned out there was no corporate policy stating it wasn't allowed but the two of them didn't want it because "women aren't as good with parts as men and can't not do this job as well" I tried to contact my RM several times about this and was never gotten back to. The next week we had a bad snow storm and everyone that works in the store I worked at was either late or snowed in and called off, but only two people got written up for it, myself and the other female employee. There were many off the cuff remarks about how paperwork and filing is "a woman's work" or about how this is a man's world made in the little over three months I worked there, many of them by the store manager. I was told when I hired in that they would move me into the ISS (commercial manager) position when it became available, but when that position got closer to becoming a position they were going to have in our store I was told by my store manager that it would be better suited to a man because the guys in the garages wanted to talk to men about their parts but if I wanted to be a driver that would be fine because they liked to have a pretty woman to look at and flirt with but they were not going to deal with me beyond that. I worked in commercial in the store I was at before O'Reilly and I had worked hard to earn the respect of the mechanics in the garages. When I was interviewed for the position I was told by the DM that the local garages had raved about me and that was his main reason for wanting to hire me and wanting me in the position on ISS but when push came to shove I was not a man and was passed over. About two weeks after my 90 day review which was a good one I was pulled aside 15 minutes before the end of my ### and told I was being let go, when I asked for a reason I was told that the store manager and DM had decided I wasn't right for the company but he refused to give me a reason as to why they were firing me. When I asked for a number to contact the DM the store manager told me he would be unreachable and I shouldn't bother trying to call him. I have every intention of not letting this slide, I will follow the legal path with this one because I feel I was let go simply because I am a woman and I have a mind and opinions, I refused to sit down, shut up, and look pretty which is all the store manager (Chris Philo) and the district manager (Mike Lange) believe that a woman is good for as their actions and comments clearly show.

O'Reilly Auto Parts the wrong spark plugs

I have been working on giving my car a tune up and I went to the oreillys on 25526 Pacific Hwy S, Kent, WA [protected].

Anyway, it was late and they were getting ready to close, I was looking for spark plugs for my car, and the guy sold me a box of spark plugs, and when I opened them they looked used, they actually had oil on the screw part.

I asked him about it and he said some cockamaymee story about that is the way they come, well, I know better, but never the less, I needed spark plugs.

I put them in, and it seemed like they didnt want to screw in all the way.

So, go forward about a month and I was driving and one of the plugs actually came unscrewed and my car started driving like a mack truck.

Later I got new spark plugs and looked these up on the internet and they were not made for my car.

I want a my money back, I cannot find my receipt, however, I am sure that your computer can track the purchase made, only having to look it up with the serial number or code on the box.

Really, I am not going to let this go, it could have destroyed my engine.
The guy was just too lazy to get me the right spark plugs, that he sold me some that someone had returned, REALLY?

Please contact me or contact the office and tell them that I am going to bring in the spark plugs.

O'Reilly Auto Parts no customer service

This place is close to where I live and thats why Ive been going there. Pep Boys suto parts store is at least two miles away, and thats where I will be going from now on!

The last time I went into this O'Reiillys, I needed a part but wasnt sure what the name of it was. The cashier told me he would come out and look at my vehicle, for me to go out there and wait for him. I was out there 20 minutes in the HEAT, until he FINALLY came out, but went to SOMEBODY ELESE vehicle! I left.

I notified the company about this, and they said they would have a talk with these people at this store.

Today I went into the same store looking for a small part that is usually carried on the shelves. I couldnt find it, and NONE of the 4 guys behind the counter offered to help me out. Apparently it was MORE important for them to talk and play with each other than to help anybody in the store.

I will NEVER be going back.

Apparently the company lied to me about talking to these people, or they just dont give a damn about anything but thier paycheck. Fine, the other parts stores around here will be getting my money from now on.

O'Reilly Auto Parts fraudulent merchandise

I am posting this as a response to the O'Reilly Auto Parts district manager having just called here claiming O'Reilly received the defective pump back from me, will not produce it, and therefore will not take responsibility for the damage their defective pump caused to my engine.

May 12, 2012

O’Reilly Auto Parts
325 East Cloverland Drive
Ironwood MI 49938

Request for payment from O’Reilly Auto Parts

The following chronology lists events caused by negligence of O’Reilly Auto Parts store, located at 325 East Cloverland Drive, Ironwood MI 49938:

Dec 12, 2011 - I noticed small amount of engine coolant seeping from the water pump on my 1996 Lumina APV minivan with 3.4L engine.

Dec 13, 2011 - I went to O’Reilly Auto Parts store at 325 East Cloverland Drive Ironwood, MI to purchase a water pump for my 1996 Lumina APV minivan with 3.4L engine. I gave my detailed vehicle information to O’Reilly clerk 45169, who then did a lookup and sold me a water pump (see O’Reilly invoice [protected]).

Dec 15, 2011 – I removed the leaky water pump from my minivan and noticed it had nine vanes in it to circulate engine coolant. I noticed the water pump O’Reilly sold me the day before had only six vanes. I immediately phoned the O’Reilly store to inquire about the difference and reached the same clerk who had sold me the six-vane water pump the day before. I give him my vehicle information again, and the invoice number from the sale the day before; he looked up the information and reassured me that he’d sold me the correct water pump. I then went ahead and installed it along with new engine coolant, then bled the engine cooling system per the GM-specified process.

The new water pump initially appeared to be working properly in the driveway, but after driving the van about 7 miles the engine temperature suddenly started rising well above the halfway point. I let the engine cool down, returned home and re-bled the engine again. I then resumed driving to Ironwood and the engine temperature suddenly started rising well above the halfway point again. I drove straight to O’Reilly’s store to show them the problem and also to return the core of the nine vane water pump which I had removed from my van (see invoice [protected]). I noticed the person who had sold me the water pump one day earlier at the counter, and asked him to look at the situation and give me his idea of what might be wrong. I told him that the water pump he had sold me had only six vanes and showed him the core of the nine-vaned one I’d removed. He again did a lookup, and insisted that he’d sold me the correct pump. I informed him I’d never had any overheating problems with the pump I’d removed, only that it had just developed a slow seep of engine coolant. He stood by his claim that the newly-developed overheating was not caused by the pump he’d sold me.

The overheating problem continued. I took the van back to repeatedly, and showed the overheating problem to Scott, Casey and George, each time explaining the replacement water pump purchase from their store and newly-developed overheating problem. They didn’t recommend any solution. I kept re-bleeding the engine.

After a few weeks of this overheating problem my van suddenly began purging the coolant out of the reservoir bottle and onto the ground. I continued going to O’Reilly and showed them this newly developed problem. They still offered no ideas.

I then attempted some Internet research on the water pump required for my van, and discovered the APV minivan required a nine-vane pump, and not the six-vane pump O’Reilly had sold me. I also learned that the coolant purging from the reservoir while the van engine was running indicated that a head gasket was failing and allowing combustion gasses back into the cooling system, and the combustion gas pressure was thus pushing coolant out of the engine. I started adding Bars head gasket sealer from Wal-Mart. This did not help the problem.

I went back to O’Reilly on Jan 20, 2012 and informed the George his store had sold me a six-vane water pump when in fact a nine-vane one was required. The store did another lookup and sold me yet another water pump, this time with nine vanes instead of six (see invoice [protected]). George also informed me that clerk who had sold me the first water pump had been “let go” because he’d been looking up and selling incorrect parts to other customers as well.

I returned the six-vane water pump to O’Reilly as a core later on Jan 20, 2012 (see invoice [protected]).

The van now ran much longer without overheating with the proper nine-vane water pump installed, however, on longer drives the engine was still losing enough coolant internally to eventually run out of it and overheat.

So the minivan had now developed an overheating problem caused by internal coolant loss. The problem continued, so I kept purchasing more and more head gasket sealer and coolant from O’Reilly’s store and other stores (see invoices [protected], 2218, 181404, and Car Quest # 123977).

Eventually the engine began misfiring and blowing coolant directly out between the head and block and onto the ground.

I had to have the heads removed from my minivan and the engine repaired, the damage determined to have been caused by the insufficient coolant circulation directly due to the incorrect water pump sold to me by O’Reilly’s store. (The second pump supplied by O’Reilly is still installed and working properly.) The repairs cost me $1263.81 (see Broadway Automotive invoice #21124). The ongoing purchases of new engine coolant and assorted head sealer additives exceeded $50.

I hereby request that O’Reilly Auto Parts refund my out-of-pocket repair and cooling system antifreeze-head sealer costs of $1313.81 within 10 days of their receipt of this itemization. If O’Reilly Auto Parts does not honor this request, I will add to my request the cost for recovery of court legal action expenses to secure my damages.

Sincerely,

Leland Sarmont,
11881 N. MacKinnon St.
Iron Belt, WI 54536

Here is my complaint: Feb of this year I started buying my parts for my repair business from Oreillys only after discussing several business issues. One main point that was discussed was warranty labor claims and the time frame it takes to be paid on these claims. Mr. Lieng, the store manager of #3877, assured me that two weeks was the turn around time to get paid. A customer of mine arrived at my shop around 9 AM in his RV, a 1994 F53 Ford chassis w/ a 460 c.i.d., and had to get it smogged before he left for vacation in two days. One of the air pumps for emissions control had to be replaced, so before I removed it I called and ordered one from Oreillys #3788. When I arrived to get the part I made sure to bring the old part to match up. I removed part from the box and I found it cracked, the hose connections were cut off and part was bad out of the box. Since store #3788 didnt have a second pump I had to drive 15 miles to a differet store and pick one up. The second pump appered to be ok, but after installing pump the problems arose. Pump was creating vacuum in the emissions sustem not pumping air into it. So had to R&R again and wait until the following day to get a pump which after I installed proved to have some internal issue, so once again I had to R&R and the last one installed worked. Meanwhile my customer was 1 1/2 days late leaving for his trip and very unhappy, and I lost 7 hours of time in the prosses. I filed a labor claim, this was 5 months ago, with Oreillys and never heard anything about it. In the last 8 months Ive filed 5 claims for warranty labor for faulty parts to the tune of $2000 and last month was told by Oreillys corpret that there are no claims on file with them on any part. Which means that Mr. Lieng manager of #3788 never bothered to write up my claims and lied to me when he said he did. When I tried to resolve this issue with corpert I was given the cold shoulder and ignored by the people I spoke with. I REFUSE TO DO ANY MORE BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT LIES TO ITS CUSTOMERS, FAILS TO PAY WARRANTY LABOR CLAIMS LIKE AGREE BUT MOSTLY WHEN A COMPANY FAILS TO KEEP THIER WORD AND JERKS ME AROUND AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT SCREWING THEIR CUSTOMERS, THATS A COMPANY I WILL ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE TO AVOID. OREILLY AUTO PARTS SUCKS.

O'Reilly Auto Parts voice recordings against o'reilly automotive in federal court

Now that O'Reilly Automotive law firm BURR & FORMAN LLP have about 18 recordings from Kelvin Jones lawyer the set deposition was postponed due a hearing set by a judge for O'Reillys lawyer for a different matter. Yea right...seems that someone needs extra time to sort out some false statements written and submitted by O'Reilly Automotive management team here in Huntsville, Alabama related to Kelvin Jones being wrongfully terminated on July 7, 2010 from the 1207 Sparkman Drive location.

O'Reilly Auto Parts sold incorrect product — damaged vehicle

Asked for Ford power steering fluid. Counter person spoke to me about how Ford has a system that controls then brakes and steering. I didnt know that only means a booster unit / not where the fluid is. They were trying to decide which fluid to give me. I mentioned that a Ford garage told me I can use 'synthetic'. The Oreilly guy went to a shelf, picked up a bottle and said "This syas synthetic---this will do it for ya". That day I put the fluid in and 2 days later it started to make horrible sounds. The Ford garage found out the fluid sold to me was BRAKE FLUID and it destroyed my steering system for $2, 800 repair cost, which I dont have. I had polio and need my truck for my job and to carry my wheelchairs, without it, I will lose my house. It took two weeks of calling back and forth trying to get someone to help. At one point a manager said "We will get you back on the road". Then yesterday Pat Santon, manager of district 264 Oreillys, said, and I quote: "Its a BUYER BEWARE THING". He said I should have checked to see what I was putting in and I should have checked the fluid against the owners manual. They are telling me their counter people are not experts and cant be counted on to give us the correct products! Im am going to have great financial losses and they wont do the right thing. O'Reilly Auto Parts rip off

I live in Pullman Washington and work on both my own vehicles and those of friends. Living in a rural area there are few options for parts other than mail order/internet O'Reilly and a few other stores. Aside from ordering something online O'Reilly has generally been the least expensive for small stuff like brake pads or filters that I need in a hurry. However, the last couple of times I have been into their store for something all of their parts except for the most expensive version have been "out of stock". After this happened a couple of times I got suspicious and checked their website and found out that the part I just bought a $21 fuel filter had a $15 and $10 versions that was also in stock that they claimed they did not have. I am curious if anyone has had a similar thing happen to them

and if any one who works for them knows if management is pushing this to up sales? Granted I generally like the people that work there but getting lied to repeatedly and ripped off has convinced me never to shop there again.

O'Reilly Auto Parts poor service and no common sense

On 4/19 at 9:20pm Visited the Cathedral City store on Ramon Rd. I went in to purchase a oil pan drain plug for my 99 Suburban. The counter person looked like he was sleeping on the counter with no customers in the store.

I kindly asked for the part he said they are out of stock, I asked if he had a universal one and we walked to the isle and found a similar one with the package stapled together with out a washer. he wanted to charge me for a washer kit plus the plug, $5.99 for the plug plus washer kit. I said it is not my fault to pay for both parts since the part should come with a washer, his response was it is company policy that I have to follow. I was pissed and began to walk to the door to go elsewhere, he did not even apologize in any way and I left to go to Auto-zone less then an quarter mile away.

Auto-zone had over 10 customers and four counter persons helping customers, unfortunately they did not have the part also and had to wait for this morning and picked one up at the Chevy dealership for $4.00 for an o/e part.

The point I want to make is in a small town as this desert the news goes around so fast of this type of service it is matter of time no one will go in to this store. O'Reilly auto part might be using this store for a write off but I don't think so. its all about numbers.

I would not ever visit there store and would let all my friends and automotive shops to know not to do business with them.

A lousy $.25 cent washer, he could have given the entire part for free and satisfied a customer. Corporate world will never understand that, they don't give it a ***.

What happen to the service industry, personal service, repeat customers, going out of your way to satisfy a customer, Is that the way O'Reilly auto part began in 1957. No it not it is all about numbers and their stock holders. That is the exact reason you don't see local hardware stores, coffee shops on and on. instead Home Depot, Lows, Walmart. and we pay over $4.50 a gallon for gas. This country that I love so much its going down so fast I fell bad for the kids lives how they will survive.

Please share this with other and make a difference so these *** get to realize some day how it all started.

I bought an electric fuel pump for a 95 jeep. I installed and verified my fix. The next morning all was well and the car started fine. Day 2 and the pump never ran again. I ran a fuel pump test with my scan tool and the pump was dead. Contact with the Havre, Montana store was useless because I was told I needed to buy another pump out-of-pocket and had to wait 10 weeks for them to verify the defect in order to receive my warranty labor claim. Manager says I can have the parts outright if I wave my labor claim. What the Hell kind of business are they running? I'll go to carquest or NAPA or H-O Parts plus next time for a more professional business dealings.

O'Reilly Auto Parts employee was rude!!

Today I made a exchange of a radiator that I purchased from O'Reilly's in Union City GA. The exchange was done at the O'Reilly's in Peachtree City GA.

While attempting to exchange the product due to a leak that was found by my mechanic, I was first asked by the O'Reilly associate named Dave, if I had bought the radiator in the condition that I was returning it in (DAH!).

Then he further insulted me by stating that before and exchange could be made I would first have to prove that the radiator had a leak (WTF!). But after mentioning who my mechanic was (his cronie) all of a sudden it was "Ooh".

Now I don't know if is insolence was due to the excessive amount of tobacco packed in his lower lip (unprofessional) or the color of my skin (African-American).

O'Reilly Auto Parts does not care about tm's or sup's

I was a supervisor for the Phoenix, AZ DC. I have recently left to work for another company. I lodged a complaint against the PHX DC manager to corporate HR department for verbal harassment. Since I was not an hourly team member nothing became of my complaint which forced me to leave the company for constructive discharge. There are two other complaints similar to mine from supervisors and the abuse continues...continues. Maybe because the West VP, and West Regional manager are turning a blind eye and not addressing the problems in the west region, since the complaint was from management not hourly. Complaints are going directly to the AZ Department of Labor and EEOC. The VP and regional are old CSK and do not have the O'Reilly culture values yet...maybe never since CSK worked in a backward fashion. If O'Reilly did not bail out CSK's 900 million or so debt we would not be having the discussion. In my opinion that is why there is so much UNION talk in the west (drivers in SoCal DC are union, (it would never happen) but the salary sups should unionize from their daily abuse. It is hard to turn away a union steward with a complaint. In my opinion O'Reilly may lay off 50 or so hourly team members in the next several months in Phoenix, those team members will be wondering about what was said in those town hall meetings last year. Jump ship before it sinks..Supervision have no protection against harassment.

O'Reilly Auto Parts really dissapointed

After notification, I will personally FIRE anyone that purchases parts, on behalf of our shops, from O'reilly's. All O'reilly commercial accounts will be closed, outstanding orders will be left standing, outstanding returns will be eaten by the shop involved. NO customer bought parts from O'reilly's will be installed by us. We will continue to purchase from Napa and AutoZone. Increase orders from our Atlanta and Charlotte suppliers. I've had complaints from some of our techs, but until I personally experienced the unprofessionalism and total lack of auto-part knowledge from several stores over a several month period, I agree. I'm finished doing absolutely any more business with this bunch. They came out of the gates pretty strong when they first moved into the area, but have since fell by the wayside. On behalf of myself and my business GOOD-BYE.

O'Reilly Auto Parts poor service

I recently took a trip and stopped for washer fluid at the Viroqua Wisconsin O'Reilly Auto Parts Store. When I walked in there was nobody at the counter I heard people laughing in the back. As I was waiting for help out came a counterperson texting on her cellphone, she wallked right by me as she pretended not to notice me! I believe the person that came out next was the manager (I saw it on his shirt) I looked at him to see if he would say something to his employee, he didn't. I turned around and walked out, Where's the customer service! I will never stop at a O'Reilly Auto Store again this service was awful!

How DARE they not grovel and scrape at your feet and beg to ask what they can do to make your life better! I mean SERIOUSLY! There's no WAY that person could have been on lunch/dinner/10 minute break/going home.

You know what!? I bet they were watching out the window and just WAITING for you to drive in so they could ignore you when you walked in!

O'Reilly Auto Parts double standard

This place of business appears to have a double standard or has not properly trained personnel including their managers so that the corporate position (or that of the independent owner of the franchise) is consistently maintained. I personally have had the company price match parts from 'online only' auto parts retailers such as Rockauto.com. I also very recently had them price match an alternator from a bonafide auto parts store that also has online sales (Advance Auto). We were told they would do the same with a radiator and was told they would match the online price. After the store shipped the part in from another local store and my sone went in to buy it he was told that "As of right now the policy is only to honor (physical) auto parts stores that also have online sales (i.e Advance Auto, Auto Zone, etc.). He (we) bought the radiator because he needed it but are extremely disappointed in how this company operates.

O'Reilly Auto Parts sexual harassment, racial discrimination, harassment and retaliation

Part 3...Shortly after firing Mr. Jones, Kaye Todd was transfered back to store 1207 from 1392 ( NATHAN'S STORE) and James Leslie step down has manager of the store and went back to store 1135 on Jordan Lane. Kaye was the one person that spoke out about how bad Chris Harrelson and James Leslie were treating Kelvin Jones to Tim Shaw. And just like that she was brought back with another dollar raise just like they removed her and gave her a dollar raise. Harrelson needed Kaye Todd out of the way until he needed to have Kelvin removed from store 1207. Crazy thing Mr. Jones didn't have this problem of being fired until he started reporting Chris Harrelson. Harrelson $60, 000 to $70, 000 a year career was at risk because Kelvin stuck with reporting him concerning any improper actions from Harrelson. And because Harrelson couldn't risk Jones reporting more harassment, Kelvin Jones was fired on July 7, 2010 because he faxed information to HR saying that regardless if Billy Harris the Regional Manager was there to fire him for bringing a doctor's excuse the be out of work, this still doesn't the process of the lawsuit!

O'Reilly Auto Parts part 2 of racial discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and retaliation

Part 2...Now with the false statements given by Chris Harrelson, James Leslie and Nathan, copies where collected. There have been major questions about these three employees. If Kelvin Jones was so violent, anger, threating and out of control cursing up a storm infront of everyone trying to attack Chris Harrelson, like they put in their reports. Why didn't anyone call the police? As a matter of fact there were three police squad cars at the BP gas station right next door plus several phones in the building to warn someone. You know why they didn't call anyone, it never happen like that, because there was customer in the store listening and watching what was going on that day. Harrelson needed cover from Nathan and James to report false statements to help keep his employment current. As noted in the first complaint, a customer provided his statement for Kelvin Jones after he found out that Mr. Jones had been fired days later from O'Reilly Auto Parts from false statements that Harrelson, James and Nathan provided to HR. The customer states he didn't want to be involved until he heard that the young man, meaning Jones had lost his job behind what took place. O'Reilly Auto Parts ignored the witness statement he provided to clear Jones of voluntarily handing over keys to Harrelson. The customers statement was that he was present to see and hear Chris Harrelson, the man described as the one who asked Jones to turn over his keys to the store in a soft tone as he walking towards Jones meeting up by a green pole and car batteries. The customers also provided in his statement that Harrelson was the person that was following Jones around the store talking loud to Jones while walking behind him. The customer pointed out that Nathan (the blonde headed white guy), meaning Nathan wasn't trying to stop Harrelson from walking behind Jones and that he almost physically bumped Jones behind the counter. They failed to mention this in their statements to HR. Now not only is Harrelson's and James employment is at risk, Nathan's job is on the line for his false statement in trying to protect Harrelson from being fired. One question came up, why was Nathan the manager asked to come to the store to cover the counter out of all people Harrelson needed someone who he could trust to go along with this plot that very day, because of the stack of harassment reports from Jones to HR about Harrelson and James plus the report about Scott Robertson/ James Leslie falsifying a corrective action on Jones once before that the company ignored. So Robertson couldn't be part of it because he was already in the hot seat. Scott Robertson had already collected three first and finals himself for sexual harassment plus the one Mr. Jones reported on Robertson for showing naked photos in the store to Russell Brown and Jones. Harrelson along with Nathan and James that day needed to come up with story for Human Resources, actually Harrelson tried to get Jones that day with his false report. Why wasn't Kelvin Jones fired right then before he left the store? Mr. Jones reported this action taken against him by Harrelson to Tim Shaw of HR, no one replied at all back to Jones. Now things get weird once more, Harrelson needed Jones to help him by taking the keys back after he took them from Jones plus this is a form of retaliation and is against federal law. So a new hired member of O'Reillys shows up the next day at store 1207 and says that he was told to give me the keys back. OH YEA DID I MENTION, KELVIN JONES THE ANGER PERSON THE ONE THEY SAID WHO TRIED TO STAB Harrelson with a screwdriver stated by Harrelson was working the next day. Jones told this guy that the keys belong to Harrelson so give those to him. So after a while pass by Nathan appeared wanting to talk to Jones about taking the keys back, Jones replied to Nathan, the keys belong to Chris so give them back to him because he was demoted yesterday when Chris took the keys from him. Nathan told Jones either you take them back or I'll have to send you home. Jones replied again they belong to Chris, Nathan said well I'll have send you home. Jones says he spoke with Russell Brown for a second and then clocked out and left the store. Jones didn't know at this time that Nathan nor James had or were about to supply Harrelson with false statements to protect him. They did this because they felt if all three stories connected together to support what happen things would be ok. But they gave different stories about what happen...Nathan produce a statement of things that never happen at all, Harrelson produce a statement that was less detail than Nathan of things that never happen, James Leslie wrote a statement totally different than the other two, James statement says that Jones gave Harrelson the keys in a meeting, (the meeting took place in the office) they really have alot of explaining to do. They had alot of issues hanging over Leslie's head putting him in a position to be fired. I think Leslie had no other choice but to comply with whatever they needed him to do to help rid Jones of his employment. Jones states that other employees felt that Charles Holman the manager that was reported at an earlier time for sexual contact with other male employees at 1207 to Ernie Golden, Chris Harrelson and Home Office about his sexual behavior should've been handled with Holman being fired instead of being transfered to Andrew Jackson where he again, meaning Charles Holman, approached the 17 year old male for sexual favors. HOLMAN SHOULD'VE BEEN ARRESTED FOR THAT, BUT I THINK FOR THE SAKE OF O'REILLYS REPUTATION THEY TRIED TO QUIETLY KEEP THIS HIDDEN. WHAT IF THIS WOULD'VE HAPPEN TO ONE THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS, WOULD THEY HAVE KEPT QUIET ABOUT IT? THIS GOT OUT SO QUICKLY THROUGHOUT DIFFERENT STORES ABOUT WHAT CHARLES DID AND WHO PLAYED A PART IN COVERING UP WHAT HAPPEN. Upper management didn't care for Jones talking about this criminal sexual act with other employees. Jones felt being black working for O'Reilly Auto Parts was a challenge, because it felt as if blacks weren't promoted in certain positions or given proper raises to advance in the company like white employees were. Alot of employees Black and White knew that blacks weren't being treated fairly but didn't say anything about it. Jones states that recordings, witnesses and documentation supports his federal lawsuit of racial discrimination, sexual harassment, harassment and retaliation against O'Reilly Auto Parts. The federal lawsuit no.# CV-10-JEO-2958-NE...The EEOC CHARGE NO.# [protected]...The 2nd retaliation charge number EEOC CHARGE NO.# [protected] write a letter to the EEOC in Birmingham, AL under the Freedom of Information Act to collect both copies. O'Reillys position statement of the claims filed states that Jones never complained to anyone about anything. Contact Jones for copies of emails and faxed information sent to Ernie Golden, Tim Shaw, Ted Wise, the company president and Human Resources over a two year period of time. Part 2

I sure wished someone knew of an attorney that would take the case of sexual harassment in Texas. I would file so quick it would make O'Reillys head swim...

O'Reilly Auto Parts racial, sexual harassment and discrimination

Several documented reports of sexual harassment, discrimination, racial slurs and retaliation made/and known by managers, HR, Regional managers plus District managers to no avail. ### you ###-### you ### said to Assisst Manager Kelvin Jones, a black male by a white manager infront of another black employee Russell Brown at store 1207 on Sparkman Drive. A white manager at the Bob Wallace store 948 made a comment that store 1207 was "The Hoodlum Store" while a HR rep, Tim Shaw was present that very day. Thru many reports of how unfairly blacks were being treated in this district by upper management, someone from HR finally appeared almost a year later. The ### you ### comment was a sore subject for upper management. I was told that the company didn't want to be known for something like that, they wanted so many statements concerning what that manager stated infront of me and Russell Brown. One HR rep said that it was he's first time hearing about it, but two weeks prior to that he called Russell Brown at work (O'Reillys) discussing what Russell saw and heard. The Regional Manager made a visit to the store on September 30, 2009 asking me for a third statement about the "N-word" comment as he put it and I explain to him that Tim Shaw already had a statement from me. He asked me not to call TIPS Hotline, call him first after threating me in the office about my employment. I felt along with other employees of the company blacks at certain stores didn't get a fair shake as white employees in many ways. Our location was considered as "It's Dark Over Here" stated by one District Manager when a white female employee reported to work to notice that all the doors were locked after 7 a.m. one morning. And that's what his reason were for the store being lock. This comment was heard several times. A District Manager instructed a manager not to hire white employees at store 1207 only hire black employees for that area. During that time Makeeda Clay, a black male was hired in fulltime over Kelvin Jones and paid more, with less knowledge and time in auto parts with the company. Kelvin was instructed by Ernie Golden to train Mr. Clay. Another employee hire off the street was Damien Reynolds, a white male with less knowledge and time in auto parts with O'Reillys was given the pay that Makeeda Clay was making over Kelvin that he also had to train when Mr. Clay was laid off for discriminatory reasons. But to make a long story short Mr. Jones reported harassment, sexual harassment, racial discrimination and retaliation during a two year period of time, and during that time when he started reporting Chris Harrelson the new District Manager Kelvin's employment became threaten even more, Kelvin's employment was threaten at less four times, he was denied to attend many church services on Sundays to hear his children sing in the choir, he was told that if he couldn't work 9-7 on Sundays by management that they would look thru applications to find someone to take his place, Mr. Jones kept reporting Chris Harrelson almost on a weekly basis to HR to no avail. James Leslie and Scott Robertson forged the date on a corrective action document that HR and Chris Harrelson knew about, nothing was done about it. James Leslie started telling customers infront of employees Kaye Todd and Scott Robertson that Kelvin Jones was about to be fired because of what he was trying to do to the company, "Is get something for nothing." A customer called Kelvin on Jan. 27, 2010 and told him what James was doing when customers would ask for Kelvin...to tell them that Kelvin was about to be fired. Kelvin reported to HR rep Tim Shaw office to report what was taken place. He also spoke with Chris Harrelson the moment he made it to work that very day and asked Harrelson where was James getting this information from that he was about to be fired. Harrelson tried to play totally dumb in knowing what was going on, Kelvin asked Harrelson to look into this matter, but Harrelson never did. James threaten Mr. Jones's employment several times infront of employees and customers but provided a statement to the company that he never did threaten Jones. Kaye Todd as a witness says that she has heard James say this several times with her own ears and also mentioned this to Tim Shaw of HR in person. After Kaye Todd spoke out to Tim Shaw/ HR about how Mr. Jones had been mistreated for quite sometime, mysteriously she was tranfered out of store 1207 to store 1392 thru Chris Harrelson's contact to her with a raise. Shortly after that Mr. Jones was alone in the store with Harrelson, Leslie and Nathan (1392 manager) in July, Sott Robertson left the store, he states to go to the doctor and Brittney from the Andrew Jackson location was sent home before Kelvin Jones was confronted by Harrelson and Leslie in the office with two corrective actions. Mr. Jones told Harrelson that the corrective actions were false. Harrelson and Leslie got caught in a lie that they fail to reveal to Jones. Mr. Jones asked Harrelson to stop harassing him. Harrelson told Jones that the same rules that apply to every other employee in the company apply to him to...Jones replied back and said if that's the case why do you and James still have your jobs after all the harassment. Jones states Harrelson got pissed and yelled "Who's harassing you!" Jones says that he pointed at Harrelson and said, "You are!" plus as many times James has threaten my job you two should be on your third write-up. Jones says that Harrelson told him "Whatever!" Now notice that James is just standing there not saying anything at all. Harrelson states said by Kelvin "If you're wanting to dispute this put it on here!" meaning the corrective actions. Jones told Harrelson that he didn't recognize lies and he could gather 5 more write-ups to stack on top of the two he had and they still wouldn't mount up to a hill of beans. Jones says after he said that Harrelson got pissed again and said to him "You know what, I've given you so many chances!" Jones says that he asked Harrelson, "So many chances to do what Chris, what are you talking about was that a threat Chris" Jones says that Harrelson wouldn't reply to him. Kelvin states he told Harrelson because of his position in the company that doesn't give him the right to harass employees and that he took the comment as harrasment, he asked Harrelson were they done in the office because he's not signing anything, Harrelson says yes, Mr. Jones says that he turned around and walked out of the office leaving Harrelson and James in the office. Now from that point Jones is working putting away stock with a few minutes passing by from leaving the office. James comes out of the office first going back unto the floor pushing the cart putting up stock also moving towards the front, Harrelson comes out last, Mr. Jones states he was headed towards the bathroom when Harrelson asked Jones to turn over his store keys, with no hesitation Mr. Jones pulled the keys from his pocket and handed them to Harrelson saying "You want them now their yours" and turned to walk off, Jones says that Harrelson raised his voice at him, because Nathan was down by the drink machine looking and said "What did you say about these keys!" Jones says that he turned around and told Harrelson that you wanted them now their yours. Jones said that he told Harrelson that he didn't have anymore to say about it and he kept working. Jones says that Harrelson kept following him down towards Nathan talking loud saying "I want to know why you gave me yours keys because that concerns me' saying this infront of Nathan now. Jones says to Harrelson again I have nothing more to say, so please leave me alone. Jones says that Harrelson almost ran into him on purpose when he came off an aisle behind the counter, Jones said that he kept working going from the floor aisle to back behind the counter putting up stock. When Jones pulled more items that belong behind the counter off the counter to place them on the shelf. Jones says that he notice that the customer that used the tools earlier on his truck returned them, Jones says that he grabbed both wrenches, taillight star wrench and plyers and walked over to the blue toolbox behind the drink machine, mind you, Nathan didn't move nor turn around my way at all to see what I was doing but passing Nathan that was standing at the first counter in the direction of the toolbox. Mind you, a customer is also witnessing this go on at times now. Jones states that he left the floor to make a phone call to member of the NAACP to report more harassment at the workplace and that the District Manager had take the store keys away from him. Jones says that he couldn't reach the member from that point, so he place a call to someone to describe what was going on at work. This lasted for about 4 minutes or so. Jones says that Leslie peeped around the battery display and said yeah he's on the phone. Jones said shortly after that he finished up his phone message and went back out onto the floor to continue to work, he notice Harrelson and Nathan huddle up whispering to each other by the first counter towards the drink machine, when Harrelson started walking away from Nathan and yelled "Hey Kelvin! Come here, I need to talk to you now! Jones said that he told Harrelson that he couldn't go to the office and talk because he didn't feel safe talking to Harrelson about the write ups anymore, plus he told Harrelson that he didn't trust him. All at the sametime Jones says that Harrelson started walking out on the floor towards him as Jones is asking Harrelson to stop harassing him. Jones says that he notice Harrelson glace at Nathan, then Harrelson glaced over his left shoulder an saw the customer, a black male looking at him, that's when Harrelson charge towards Jones yelling at him to "Get out, just get out of here and go home!" Jones said that He asked Harrelson for what? Harrelson says because you are refusing to talk to me and you are being sent home for insurbornation because you're refusing to talk me. Jones says that he said to Harrelson I'm talking to you about not harassing me. Jones states Harrelson was very anger and on his way out of the door Harrelson leaned over standing in the door way and said to him "I'll find someone else to work your shift" Jones said he left without saying anything nor reply to Harrelson at all. Now here is where it get interesting Nathan and James wrote false statements saying that Kelvin tried to attack Chris with a screwdriver. Chris Harrelson wrote a false statement about the samething. They also said that Harrelson tried to give Jones the keys back two times in their statements. James and Nathan wrote two different statements about what happen James said that Jones gave Harrelson the keys in the office, Nathan said that Jones handed Harrelson the keys on the floor, but Nathan didn't hear Harrelson ask for the keys at 40 feet away he forgot to mention that in his statement as a witness for Harrelson. James also said he witness Jones pick up a screwdriver on his continued second statement. False! Nathan states Jones had a threaten look in his eyes, from what I understand Jones had his back towrds Nathan. Wow! Nathan put in his statement that Jones was going to hurt someone. They all said that Jones was very anger. Which wasn't the truth. Thru all the false statements they produce why didn't Harrelson, James and Nathan mention the one black customer that provided the company with his statement of what happen in the store. James and Harrelson's job were at risk to be demoted or lost because of all the reports sent to HR by Kelvin Jones for almost a years time. They wanted Jones and other black employees out of that store by any means possible. Leslie tried several times to set Mr. jones up for missing money and everytime it backfired no one did anything to stop. So thru much more that was goin on Kelvin had already filed an EEOC Charge against O'Reilly so they felt the need to lie and rid Jones of his employment this final way by saying that Mr. Jones gave his keys back voluntarily and refused to take them back several times, so they consider Mr. Kelvin Jones voluntarily quitting by refusing to take back the keys to do his job funtions. The federal lawsuit was filed on Nov. 2, 2010. Mr. Jones states the recordings of harassment will clear up alot of issues concerning the sexual harassing by male managers, additional sexual harassment the company knew about from earlier reportings about a male manager that made a 17 year old male employee take his clothes off to keep his job and offered the same kid $500 to masturbate infront of him, and much more including customers and employee witness recorded statements speaking about James threating my employment several times over long length of time. And don't forget about ### you ###- ### you ### and Hoodlum reports that upper management tried to cover up.

O'Reilly Auto Parts stay away

I have an issue with the Assistant Manager: "Rick" . This past weekend I went to Oriellys to get a thermostat and relay for my car. I was told by the dude there that this is what he would recommend because my car is old fashioned.

I got home and find out this is not good for me. I cam back and he told me that returns on electric components strictly prohibited. I could n't believe it. I am now stuck with a new thermostat and relay that I will never use. The treatment I received sucked! You guys do not stand behind what you say.
