Mr. Tire worst liars

I went to use coupon for tire rotation and also get wheel balance and alignment checked. Front desk person said that they checked wheel balance and alignment but they really did not even check them. I saw tires being rotated but they did not install anything to check alignment. They kept the car in workshop for only 20 mins and returned it. I asked front desk person multiple times on wheel balance and alignment check and he said that everything is perfect. No action is needed. And he even said that all my fluid levels are verified and topped up as needed. I later verified and see that my windshield fluid was less than half and my oil level is lower than expected. I got suspicious and requested a copy of readings of alignment. Then he lied that they verified the readings but there is no way to print them and they are now erased now and i cannot get them now. When the website made a promotion/coupon, i was expecting them to honor it. When the staff went to this level of lying, it is time for you to introspect the offers you provide on your website and publicise them only if all your branches are able to implement them. How can anyone trust this kind of businesses who lie to this level? I had to goto good year next day to have wheel alignment checked and alignment done. I had to make two trips and hassle of appointment with multiple shops when i was expecting that mrtire would rectify and fix it in my first trip. I had quite an disppointing experience with mrtire. Later i saw another review of the same shop where a lady complianed that they lied to her in the same way. She asked multiple times whether her tires are rotated and they kept lying that everything was perfect but when she went home and verified, she realised that they never rotated her tires.this is the worst lie i ever heard from any business.

Mr. Tire vehicle

I went into Mr. Tire in Winchester on Monday, July 27th, to get my Va state inspection. The tech at the counter said it would be about an hour, which is what I expected, since it is the last week in July.
After 2 hours, the tech came in and sat down with me and stated that I failed inspection, due to front brakes. He also stated that there were other issues that would total to more than $1300.00. What was suspicious to me was that the things he mentioned, were not the things to be inspected/on the inspection list. So, I told him to slap a rejection sticker on my car and I would be on my way. I got a copy of the list of things he told me were wrong with my car.

I took my car and copy of the list to a good friend of mine who is a mechanic. When he pulled the front tires off to inspect and replace the brakes, he stated that it should not have failed. They were well within legal limits. He also checked the other things on my list and nothing was wrong with them.

I went ahead and had him put on new brakes and rotors on the front anyway, since he had ordered them. He then finished my inspection. Total was $252.00.

I think that this company is fleecing people and probably getting away with a lot of it. Even though I am a woman, I do know a few things about cars.

Mr. Tire horrible

Mr. Tire is a joke, in general. I waited 4 times longer than the time I was promised, and even though they damaged my vehicle, they charged me for it (half price if I don't call corporate). The guy was complaining about the other girl working there, and letting the other mechanics talk with him about her. She wasn't even there. It was overpriced, and they didn't rotate my tires either. The mechanic said I had to ask for that, and complained loudly about me in the garage. I can't believe the level of immaturity in this garage. Never will come back, I encourage you all to not go here either.

1- What service did they do that you expected a tire rotation
2- Since you agreed with the half price deal for not complaining to corporate then WHY are you complaining here?

Mr. Tire poor workmanship

I started getting my brakes and light repairs on my vehicle
at this location and the staff seemed nice. I found another offer at a different shop that was better for my
brake service, so I went there. After the shop saw the car, they noticed that
the front hub was lose along with the bolt that holds the back brakes. If the
hub had come off the car, the entire wheel would have come off causing a fatal
accident. Also, with the bolt missing that holds the brake caliper on the car,
it caused damage to the rear brake rotors. This cost me about $650 dollars to
do all of this. When I went back to Mr Tire to complain, they said that they
would compensate me for this clear sign of negligence. The manager also told me
that they had fired their old manager because of similar issues they had in the
past. Now, I finally receive word back from their customer service rep that the
director of customer service feels that I do not deserve anything, but they
will compensate me a small percentage with the caveat that I sign a waiver that
this issue has been resolved. It is clear to me that they just want to give me
something small, but the fact that they are willing to do so shows that they
are guilty. Also, the waiver is just a way to keep me from speaking about their
bad business ethics along with inadequate workmanship. They need to do the
right thing here and compensate me correctly and not try to blow me off.

I went to Mr Tire for new tires. They put them on inside-out. Yes...a tire store can't even put tires on correctly. Then I went back for struts..I had a coupon for struts for $130 - they gave me $600 struts without asking! After months of go-around and me out $1100 -they refunded me $300. These people are such scam artists and don't even know the first thing about being a mechanic.

I made an appt at Mr Tire off Dobbin Rd for two new tires and an oil change. I was 15 minutes early for my 3:00 appointment and was told it would take 1.5 hours. I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and 20 minutes before they told me they hadn't started on my car and asked if I would like to reschedule for the next day. My reply "HELL NO! Bite me."
Mr. Tire = FAIL!

Mr. Tire bullied into buying

For the past 6 months I've been going to Mr.Tire in eldersburg. The first person I met was a guy named Tony. He was the store manager. I bought 4 tires. We agreed to a price. I came to pick my car up and found they did the alignment and added insurance without my consent. Then he tried to badger me into other services that I told the service manager when he called was just done 3 weeks earlier. So I said I won't judge too harsh. I know it's their job to sell. But, I was ripped off by this guy Tony again. I came in For an oil change and rotation. this was only 3 months after the tires were put on. Then Tony again tried to sell me a balance on tires I just had put on. Then tries again to badger me into buying the stuff I told him last time was done already.I like the work the guys do and the other managers are nice and don't hard sell. I just had work done today and Tony again tried to sell me brakes. I went to another shop to get a second opinion. they showed me the brakes and they looked like they were very thick. The place I took it to measured them and they had 8/32 all the way around . I have dealt eith the other guys at Mr. Tire and they are nice and tried to be helpful. I see the infection in that store is Tony. Everytime I want to tell Tony my issue he pushes me off to another manager. What a coward. I will never go to Mr. Tire again. Not the one in eldersburg anyway. If I see Tony's face again I will just walk out. He is not a nice person. He talks down to me because I'm a female. I wish they would get rid of him.

"I bought 4 tires. We agreed to a price. I came to pick my car up and found they did the alignment and added insurance without my consent."** When you buy tires, an alignment is nit part of the deal & Insurance on the tires is normal for MOST people. Who wants to deal with buying another tire at full price if they get a nail in the tire OR a belt shifts OR Etc...
That said, I would never go back if they did do the insurance without first asking so you would never have had the other problems.

Mr. Tire incompetant

Find someplace other than Mr. Tire on Mountain Road in Pasadena Maryland. They installed four new tires on my van, and the van then started vibrating when I drove it away. I took it back to them and they re-balanced the tires, but then the car still vibrated some. So I went there a third time and left the car with them overnight. The next day they said they had done everything they could, and if it still vibrated it was not the tires causing the vibration. I drove away and the vibration was better, but still noticeable between 55 and 65 MPH. I was fed up with them and never went back, and drove the car for 17, 000 with the vibration occurring at highway speed. Well, this morning a rear tire exploded while I was driving on a highway. I put on the spare, and lo and behold I now have no vibration whatsoever. So it was that tire that was defective. I went back to Mr. Tire today to tell them what happened. They wanted to sell me a new tire. Do yourself a major favor and go elsewhere.

Mr. Tire price of service with no option

My ex wife asked me to put front brakes on her car unfortunatly i couldnt do it at the time so she decides to take it to mr tire in lansdale pa, so for brake pads an rotors, she was quoted a price of 625.00 for pads an rotors ! a 30 min job at best for any idiot, so she calls me an said how much it was gonna be, i said tell them to put it back together an put it outside, ur getting ripped off, unfortunately they had already started work on the car, well long story short i got an estimate from the dealer of her car make, an it was considerly less yes at the dealer it was much cheaper, dealer labor rate was 100 $ mr tire was 105$ i mean are u kidding ! so we took my estimate from the dealer along when it was time for payment, and the ### behind the counter said it was a premium brake package, i asked was that the only option, and were the brake pads made of gold ! needless to say when she told them i was a mechanic for many yrs they dropped the price 120 $ still a ripoff in my mind, their garages were empty an so was their parking lot, I have done these brakes several times in the past myself for 100- 150 $ with top of the line pads, so if u like spending ur hard earned money by all means go there, otherwise stay the hell away from that ripoff outfit. I cant stress this MORE !DONT GO THERE EVER !

Mr. Tire poor service, price gouging

They wanted to charge me nearly $500 to replace the front pads and rotors of my car, which is ludicrous in the extreme; I have done it myself many times for under $100. When I questioned the cost, it dropped to $279, which is still excessive. When I questioned what explained the drop in cost, they said that the left rotor was worn out, but the right was not, so they had eliminated the right from the estimate. I expressed disbelief that one rotor then cost more than $200, and he said he'd also eliminated the hardware, which he said worn out and was causing the pads to stick. I asked why he'd taken that out if it was an issue, so he added that back in, and price went back up to $349. I asked what explained the discrepancies and was told that it was "a question of which package you got." I asked if that meant I was getting less-expensive brake pads or rotors, and was told no, they were the same. I asked if there was a reason why he hadn't just priced one rotor, and was told that they "just generally prefer to do both at the same time." I asked if it was unsafe or in some way not advisable to replace only one if that was all that was in need of replacement, and was told no; they would just resurface it and it would be perfectly safe and cause no issues.
Since I needed the work done that day in order to get my child to class that evening and did not have time to do it myself, I decided to eat the extra cost and have the work done. When I picked up the car, I drove it one mile home without noticing any issues, but as soon I got out onto the highway an hour later, I noticed a lot of vibration when I hit the brakes and a loud rubbing noise as long as the brakes were applied. All seemed to come from the right side of the car. I checked the rotor visually and saw that the surface was very rough compared to how the rotor had looked when I took it in, so I took the car back. When I got out, I noted a strong smell from the brakes; I noted that to the counterman in addition to the noise and vibration.
The manager basically said that the rotor was the problem, but was unable to explain why; he simply said I needed to pay for another rotor. When I told him I wasn't satisfied with that answer, he went out to the mechanic, came back and said the rotor was too thin to resurface again, and implied that it was my fault for not replacing it. I asked him what logical reason there could be for replacing one rotor when the other one was the issue, and that I had been assured when I first brought the car in for repair that resurfacing the right rotor would be fine since it was nowhere near the miniumum thickness and that it had not been damaged by a worn-out pad. Basically, at that point, the manager had little to say except to insist I pay for another rotor, which I refused to do.

At that point, I left to make my appointment. It's clear to me that they simply did a lousy job on resurfacing the rotor, quite probably purposefully, and that the noise and vibration came when the new pad touched an unevenly machined "poorly turned" rotor. While it is not really unsafe, it is a pain, it's poor workmanship, and it will cause the pad to wear out prematurely. I will have to replace both the pads on that side and the rotor ASAP, and tolerate the noise meantime.

Looking at the receipt just now, it becomes obvious to me what a sloppy job this was, in every respect, in addition to the excessive cost. In addition to overcharging me for a simple brake job that I have done myself before at a cost of $100 or less, they had contradicted themselves and charged inflated prices for the hardware and resurfacing.

First, they had charged only $10 for the brake hardware, yet the estimate jumped from $279 to $349 when he added hardware. Second, he had charged me for resurafcing two rotors, when in fact he had resurfaced only one, and done it badly. The other rotor was new. Finally, there was a list of parts and services provided, and a list of parts and services declined. On both lists were the items "brake inspection, " "r&r rotors, " "premium ceramic pads"; how is it possible to decline these items and be charged for them? In addition, they said I "wished to discard the old parts", although I had specifically requested that they save them and put them in the car so I could examine them. (They did not.)

This business is obviously dishonest, and although they are the most-convenient to my house, and it would nice to be able to drop both my cars there for the two new sets of tires I'll be buying in the next few weeks, I won't be doing that, or taking my cars there for anything. There's a reason why this parking lot is empty when every car repair shop on that strip is swamped. I hope they go out of business very swiftly; that would be called "justice."

Mr. Tire poor service

I use to go to Colony Tires on 401 in NC...They changed tor Tires...All the workers from Colony left and the new people are rude and do lousy work. Went this morning at 7:30m AM for an oil change and was told they had one worker and he was doing a car that needed 4 tires...He rudely stated it would be an hour. I asked about the coupons i had and he made a nasty comment . When it was Colony they had many workers and they all were good. Would never go back even if they gave me free service...I went to Jiffy Lube on 70 off of 401 and they did a great job.

I took my car to Mr. Tire twice for an oil change and each time it was returned with another problem that coincidentally presented itself after having the oil change and of course when I called they said the problem had nothing to do with the oil change. However, the straw that broke this camel's back is when my son paid several hundred dollars for a new radiator, which started to leak 3 months after the work was done. He returned today after another mechanic suggested he go back to Mr. Tire because of the warranty (rather than steal his money) and sure enough my son was told there was a defective part and that the part was covered under the warranty but not the labor. He already paid labor for the defective part. Now another $130.00 to replace the defective part! I see Mr. Tire had no problem stealing stealing my son's money! Won't be using Mr. Tire anymore! Poor Mechanical work and no regard for customer service.

Mr. Tire rip off

We have owned our lexus for over three years now and have had the oil changes at many differnet locations including the lexus dealer and have paid between $50-65 per oil change. I had my wife run it down to the mr.tire in irwin this time who was advertising a $18 oil change (for most cars) which i realized ours would be more. Then she came home with bill for $102 and said the guy told her
he "fixed " her tire pressure monitor while he was at it and this was the reason for the extra charge. First of all the tpms system has been messed up in this car for over a year and comes back on no matter what (which it did on her way home from mr. tire) . secondly nobody asked her permission to do anything else besides change the oil. After looking at the bill they charged her $14 /quart of valvoline synpower which is easily priced online everywhere at $7/quart ++++ for the rest of the b.s. I've been in the automotive business for eighteen years and understand profiting from service but wow! The oil change is a gateway service typically not profited from in order to earn your business on more expensive repairs and services. Except for the case here where somebody saw a woman by herself and took advantage. Too bad she needs tires soon as they sure wont be purchased from this place.

Mr. Tire incompetent

I had requested a transmission flush and fill for which I was billed on the service request. I watched the technician drain the transmission oil pan (this is not a flush and fill and costs the service station far less than a flush and fill). As the technician proceeded to finish the job I notified the manager who then told the tech to do a complete flush and fill. This is when the situation became interesting. Before I go on it is important to also understand that the company advertisement says their technicians are ASE certified.
When the tech hooked up the fluid exchange pump to my battery he managed to break off the cover clip on the positive post. To replace the clip the base assembly must be replaced at a cost of $280.00 (there are several electronic elements the cover protects). As he proceeded it became clear that he did not know how to initiate the pump or how to operate it, he was constantly referring to the operating instructions.
In addition to their incompetence these people do not care about your vehicle. During the course of the work they managed to spread grease onto the window sill, armrest, carpeted trim, and onto the carpet.
It is clear to me these people need to stick to tires and leave transmissions to the professionals.

Mr. Tire poor service. non qualified stafff working on vehicles

Absolutely horrible service. Let me first start out by saying, this particular store looks like their staff is on a work release program from prison.
They take over an hour for a simple oil change.
They have recently in the past 5 months blown 2 motors on customers vehicles.
Backed into bus parked and broke another customers back window.
Have been accused of stealing from customers cars (loose change, ipods etc.)
This company is a complete hot mess, and I am not surprised about all of the other complaints about the other stores in other states.

Mr. Tire hard sale, lied about rotors, never changed oil.

Had gone to Mr tire back in December of 2010 for an Oil change/tire rotation. Dropped off my car and later got a call saying I needed to have my rotors replaced, they lied to me and said I needed new rotors because the ones on it were too rusted through to machine down. They charged me for new rotors without my consent. About a month later, my engine froze up on 70-w just leaving Frederick. Had to get it towed, and had a mechanic look at it. Apparently they NEVER changed the oil, it was the same oil from the previous oil change which had gunked up the ports inside my engine causing the pistons to seize up. Completely ruined my engine. Had to buy a new one.

Didn't know about this place until now, I figured I should warn people about the Mount Airy Mr Tire.

Mr. Tire price gouging/scam maintenance

I've checked the prices of having shocks installed on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup on two different Mr. Tire locations in the Columbia Maryland area. One quote was for $752.00 and the other was for $828.00 for Monroe Gas Magnum shocks. I purchased the shocks (Monroe Gas Magnum 34515/34516) through Amazon for $132.00 and had them installed at an independent repair shop next to Mr. Tire for $145.00 labor. Total cost $277.00. When I asked the Mr. Tire personnel about the prices, they said that all pricing was set by their corporate office and there was nothing they could do about it. I had a set in tires put on at Mr. Tire in Ellicott City, MD which came with a "free" front end alignment check. After they checked the alignment, they said it was out of specification (Left front) and it would be $94.00 to adjust it. My truck alignment has been checked at other places many times since I bought it new - and it's always been fine. I declined the adjustment and left. As soon as I drove off, I could tell the tires were not properly inflated. When I got home I checked the tire pressure. Three of the new tires were a little low (34 psi) but consistent - no problem. One has 42 psi in it - no surprise it was the left front that showed out of spec on the front end alignment. No doubt the technician intentionally over inflated the left front tire to make the readout on the alignment machine read out of spec to sell an alignment. I wonder if this dishonest practice is also a corporate policy that they can't do anything about?

Mr. Tire &taken for a ride&

I'm a returning Mr. Tire customer and am usually satisfied, but in Nov. 2011, I took my car in due to squeaking brakes. They kept me there for 3 hours and ultimately wanted to replace most of my brake system- 1 rotor, pads, shoes, etc. However, they NEVER offered a tire rotation and now 6 months later, my back tires are feathering AND rotor is warped. because they only replaced one so of course they are not going to be even... Just got home from taking it in..
$215 to fix something that should have be addressed in Nov.
Autozone price = 35.99 for a rotor.
Mr. TireDundalk= 128 plus labor.

So long Mr Tire. You won't be taking me for a ride anymore!

Mr. Tire don;t stand behind their work

We bought 4 new Pirelli tires from Mr. Tire in Arlington, VA with a 60, 000 mile warranty. Two years and 20, 000 miles later, BOTH front tires are bubbling and the car is undriveable without replacing these tires. We called the Mr. Tire store, they pulled up the invoice and said there is no warranty on the tires. WRONG! It says there is 60, 000 mile warranty on the receipt. Once this genius ceded that there is a warranty, he told us there was nothing they could do about it. Finally, he said that if they do not replace tires, that the manufacturer is responsible for doing so. All this, and he NEVER even suggested we bring the care in for a look. Folks, do yourselves a favor and avoid Mr. Tire...unless of course, customer service and standing by product and workmanship are of no concern to you.

Mr. Tire they ruined my abs

Took my car for inspection Nov.29, 2011. They said the exhaust wouldn't pass on my 2005 Nissan Maxima, It ran me over $1500.00. plus back brakes. Got my car back and instantly had trouble coming to a stop, brakes hit the floor.Took it back they said there was air in the brake line.(which shouldn't ever happen if they fixed it right) Picked it up and still had the same trouble took it back, they said a wheel bearing was corroded and charged me $588.00 plus! Picked it up and still had the problem nearly crashed !Took it back they took it for a test ride and said it is the ABS but didn't fix it and said it was safe to drive. Had first snow today ( 1/13/12) and am surprised I made it home safe, it was terrifying. I didn't have this problem until they got hold of my car, They obviously screwed the ABS system up, and I'm out hundreds of dollars and a messed up car. They will be hearing from my attorney if the problem is not corrected at their cost and reimbursement for wheel bearing and other unnecessary repairs.

Mr. Tire did extra work without authorization

I called around looking for a good price for replacing a headlight in my car. I was quoted 25 dollars over the phone for my year/make/model. My husband took the car in the following day and dropped it off on his lunch and went back to work. They never called him-he got there after work to find they replaced a "burned out" wire and fuse-and charged us THREE times what they quoted! I doubt that the items they replaced needed replaced and even if they had-they should have CALLED us and got approval before replacing them! I will NEVER do business with this company again!

Mr. Tire oil change scam

I've visited this Mr. Tire location about 4 times, each time for a simple oil change. The fourth time, the manager and mechanic decided that they weren't making enough money off of me and decided to sabotage my cam & crank seals. They completed the oil change and then decided to talk to me about some problems they "discovered." They loosened my gasket and now my vehicle is leaking oil. I have a tan driveway and can always see any types of leaks from my car. The minute I came back from Mr. Tire, I began to see different oil-leak puddles wherever I parked on my driveway; that's NOT a coincidence. They caused the problem with hopes that I'd pay them to fix it. My father and regular mechanic have verified this fraudulent activity. I believe they decided to take advantage of me because they thought I was a stupid woman.

Customers, if you don't like being taken advantage of and caused unnecessary expenses, do NOT visit Clinton's Mr. Tire Auto.

They are rip-offs all around. They lie, break stuff...

If you have a problem, call their corporate office and submit a claim. That's what they have insurance for!

Mr. Tire displeased

Dropped off car in the morning, on Friday 12/16/11. Promised new tires would be installed by noon. Arrived to pick up at 2:00, not done. Went to a restaurant next door to wait. Store manager called my cell and said there was a problem that I needed to look at. Went back, installer had broke my wheel lock and could not remove one of my rims. The manager said it wasn't their fault someone else had over tighten the lock. They didn't want to continue to try to take it off because they didn't want to scratch the rim. I said just do your best and told them to proceed. The mechanic walked around for about a half hour and still could not do it. The manager said he didn't have the time to deal with it until Tuesday and wanted me to drop off the car again. I had no choice but to leave with 3 new tires on the vehicle and on old one.
Saturday morning, I got the broken wheel lock off myself with ease in about 3 minutes. I wasn't over tightened, it came off with a hammer and a chisel easily. The installer on Friday probably forgot to switch the airgun back to loosen and broke the lock. It was not overtightened at all.
So my first problem with this is the manager, who automatically blamed someone else for over tightening (which was completely false). Who also had no sense of urgency to solve the problem. And the inept mechanic who, removes wheels for a living, couldn't do what I did at home in 3 minutes.
As they say, the reward for work well done is more work. You can be sure they will get no more work from me.
