Four years ago we bought the whole set of outdoor furniture, bar with four stools, and a bench for the bartender, and a glass top octagon table with 6 chairs. Two years ago we brought it up to Kmart in Fergus Falls that one on the bottoms of the chairs split and is turning our deck dark with rust stains. We got no where, we still have the chair, the manager was going to find out about it and get back to us. This winter, we went back to Fergus Kmart with a complaint of the very extreme windchill and wind we had that broke the table top and shattered completely in our garage, sending glass all over. Even under our tires on our vehicle, which now have to be replaced. The worker took our name and phone number and we told him about what problems we were having and he promised he would do something about it and get back to us. He said he had the connections through the store to settle the problem. All we would like is a new frame sent to us for the chair, and now a new table top. We do like the set, but it does no good this way. We have a beautiful 12x34 foot deck and all looked nice on there for our wedding, but now we have no use of it. Would you believe I even e-mailed Martha Stewart web site about this too and got no where. There is a five lyear warranty on this set, but looks like it doesn't matter if you have a warranty or not. Right now k-mart has not stood up to their promise to help us with this situation. The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

pursue the 5 year warranty before your time runs out get any help you can. BLOG all over the net what happened to your set and what they have done to fix it. There are tons of sites to file complaints and get the word out to other consumers. I'm looking for a set and won't buy one that was said to have rusted and company won't back up their 5 year warranty.
Sorry to hear of your troubles and I would never shop there after hearing what you have been through. Would a custom tile top break as the glass did? It could look so nice and it's something my husband has been wanting to do as I have been shopping for a nice patio set. You can pick out your own tile colors customize it for you...Just a suggestion.
You live in MN and never thought about glass shattering when stored in a garage. Oh, and you shopped at KMart for such a major purchase, might I suggest a specialty patio store with better customer service. You need to research products before you buy them. For the rust, try having it sand blasted, rewelded and painted. All these services can be found locally and very affordably. Sounds like you may get nowhere with KMart, so try checking into self fixes. Glass shops can custom any size, at a price.
