Well, I have been reading these complaints abouit Fitness 19 and can't say that I'm surprised. I too was a victim of their deceptive business practices. I can't tell you how many times we were told that we were "Owners" of the club. But mysteriously enough, the company balked at putting anything in writing. Everything was carefully stated verbally that you were indeed an owner. Also, I can recall putting in 85 to 90 hour workweeks, only to be called at home on a Sunday and told to get back to the club because we did not have enough enrollments for the month. Wasted promises and approx. 2 years wasted out of my life. I'm glad I'm out. I cringe at the thought of those 2 years. My wife and I gave that company everything they asked for and more. Only to be told that it wasn't good enough. All you are is a glorfied "Yes-Man" paying for their timeshares in places like Utah, Colorado, etc. Money is everything to them. The upper partners simply do not care about you! Remember this, the next time you pay your monthly dues, know that the founders of the company and their "Puppets" appreciate it very much. They all drive things like Escalades, BMW's, and so forth. In conclusion, they care nothing about the membership base whatsoever except for your money. Very tacky and shady company to work for and/or belong to.

Fitness 19 is one of the shadiest companies I have ever come across! They have ripped me off and have been very unprofessional. I told them I only wanted a membership for 3 months because I was going back to school. Three months went by and I called to cancell my membership, they said it was done and that if I had any questions to call. 3 months later I get my acct overdrafted with a 330$ charge from fitness 19. I called and a very unprofessional kid picked up asking me about my time when I signed up only to tell me " that's why we fired all the blonde females from this place bro" I was so shocked and asked for the manager, which he was one! He asked if I could go on hold, 30 min later I called back and he answered and said "oh sorry bro I forgot about you, call back tommorow for the gm, I have tried to reach this Gm but they won't call me back. I just got charged another 51$ charge this week, WORSTE BUISNESS ETHICS., , anyone thinking of joining should reconsider and join a gym where they actually care about there customer!

What about the BS 19.95 charge once a year for upkeep of the club?
What kind of crap is that? What is the monthly charge for then?

You may call me young and naive but I work at this gym and I am completely satisfied with all of their business practices. I graduated with a business degree from College and let me tell you that there is nothing wrong about how this business operates. What poor labor practices? what false advertisements? And when you do become an operator you and an owner, however you become a minority owner. Like fitns19 stated above, you should take some blame for your poor experiences. If you are bent out of shape because they called you on a sunday and asked you to go in bc your dues wernt up to par, why wernt they? Its common business sense, why run a business when the person in charge isnt making any money. Some businesses fail, either it is due to the fault of the operator or bc of a poor location. I apologize that your experiecne wasnt what you looked for it to be but guess what, that is only your experience. I have met the founders and the partners of this business and I talk to them all freuqently. We dont always talk about the business it self but rather how everything is going outside of the gym. These people generally care about the individuals that work at their gyms. The better each operator does in his/her life reflects on how the gyms are operated and intern the company as a whole makes money. Everyone comes out on the postitive end of the spectrum, unless you dont really know how to run a successful business even if the plan is all laid out in front of you

hey fitness 19 "partner" ###...most of the fitness 19s are operated by crooked theifs who could care less about anyone but their splits...they dont have good labor practices nor do they put their "club enhancement fees" towards anything in the gym...in fact all the partners split it up and put it in their banks...everything that company does is fraudulent and it will all come back to them in the end...labor practices, workmans comp practices, false advertisement...nobody cares to workout at the cookie cutter gym thats too crowded anyways...

This is another one of those I am right, , , , you are wrong scenarios. How many pyramid schemes have actually worked out for everyone involved? ...Answer...NONE! Only the people who start a pyramid company ever make any money. That has been the case for hundreds of years. Remember the slave trade. How the whities made sooooo much money off the slaves... So who benefited there? Based on the above responses, the blacks benefited because now they have a wonderful life of not working and collecting welfare while they rob our society and sell drugs. Once a slave trader, always a slave trader. Welcome to the new slave traders of the 21st century in FITNESS 19

Just because you have a grudge against one of the Fitness 19's you worked for doesn't give you the right to sum all of them up as being bad. I started in the company in California (their 4th club) and moved out here to Michigan. I am a partner in the company and take offense to what you are saying. We run very nice facilities and care about our employees and our members! I'm sorry you had a bad experience but would appreciate it if you would tailor your feelings or comments towards your experience only and not that of the whole company. As for the founders, you could not be further from the truth. They are very good people who put together this company from strong hours themselves and a lot or sacrifice! I'm sure if you really step back and look at your situation, there has to be some blame that you can shoulder yourself. Good luck in your future and please, don't step on the rest of us that love what we do and appreciate our members, staff and company.

ma.leo807--------sounds like a sales pitch to me! wait til you work there for a couple years and see what the company is truly about! there's a reason the turnover rate is so high and they need "young naive couples" to run their business' for them...it's basically a pyramid scheme at which your constantly being harrassed by owners to increase their profits so much that it almost kills your own health ---- horrible company to work for...especially if you're planning on becoming a so called "operator!" what a joke...pretty soon it's only going to be $2 a month that they will pay the customer to workout at their small bacterial infested gym with no sanitary wipes to wipe your equipment of with...id rather do richard simmons video workouts in my tv room

That is so not true. The Director, managers and staff of Fitness 19 are one of the greatest group of people ever. Come on by and check us out for yourself, you be the judge. If you were to listen to everything that people had to say, let measure that against the good things that people have to say, lets ask the 1, 000s of members served and satisfied, and who have been here for years or since day one, so lets just be nice to each other.
We now have added tons of classes and would you believe it, for the unbelievable price of $10.00 per month for unlimited classes, that's right, you can take all the classes you want every month for just $10.00.

I invite you to be my guest.
