Clayton Homes home purchase

Its been a long 6 months to only be disappointed.lender blaming Clayton and Clayton blaming the lender.my lender is waiting to close.but now the appraisal came back ten thousand dollars short of the purchase price.the house now is on Clayton homes of rock hill South Carolinas lot the land is picked out and walked and home spot is marked off.now miss Barbara Lapolice either wants me to come up with more money or try another lender which I don't understand what that has to do with the property appraiser.I think I've spent enough money paying for this appraisal pluss building permits and due diligence to both Clayton and the land owner

Clayton Homes dublin va, staff, and miscommunication

My husband and I put our down payment on a home (then the jubilation) on September 1, 2017. Lorrie, our sales person told us that she would order our home that same day. We knew the manufacturer was a little backed up, so Lorrie and Rob (manager) told us we could h e the floor model they had ordered for their lot. They told us, via text/email, that we would have our home on December 7, 2017. We called them, after several attempts to get ahold of them, to be told that they haven't ordered our home, yet, due to "not having the go ahead from the lender (e-lend)". We have already completed everything for the lender, and it is now being underwritten—they even told our lender that we will have the home by the 7th, so they set a closing date of December 15, 2017. They also implied that we shouldn't put so much money into our land, because the manager Rob didn't like the location.

We are having to tear down our current home, to move he new one in—and we didn't find out that we weren't getting a home until 19 days away. Our family is completely heartbroken because we NEED a new home, and now, we don't have one.

Clayton Homes recall not being fixed

There is a recall for some plumbing issues, water leaking in a wall. I have contacted them more than once and they have sent no one out to fix this yet. I have had nothing but problems since purchasing this mobile home.
I have contacted the better business bureau previously because my home was not finished properly when set up, one of the ceiling connectors fell and almost hit my baby girl. This recall is more than likely going to cause mold in the wall connecting my daughters bedroom and bathroom. I just don't understand why it is so hard getting problems resolved with this company.

Clayton Homes service

I purchased a home from the sales lot in Marion Ohio around a year ago and I am very displeased with the way things were handled. The home is not the problem but some of the associates are. My biggest issue is being lied to and paying for work that I don't feel was finished. I was moving a old mobile home out after the new one was set and was told that they would move the extra dirt from the new build crawl space to cover where the old home was. I asked if time was an issue and was told that they would like to have it done in the spring. The new house was set in Nov and I had the old home gone in Jan. I called and told Janet in Feb. that the home was gone and was ready to finish the final grade. She said he was backed up but she would get it scheduled. Called back in April and was passed off to Heather and she told me that his mom passed and she was giving him some time off but would get me scheduled. In June after hearing from no one decided to have my neighbor do it. When time came to do the phone survey I ignored every call from Clayton homes of Tenn. Then I received a call from the Marion office telling me I needed to take the survey. I told them I would once the work was done. They sent Ray out in July to fix the kitchen floor (which is still needing fixed) and he asked why I haven't took the survey. I told him that I paid $750 for a final grade which was never done and didn't think it was right. He called Janet and she told him to have me write her out a bill and she would take care of it but I had to do the survey. I took the survey with Ray standing there so he could tell her I did my part. I then waited until Aug and never heard anything from Janet so I called her and was told that all the work was done so I wasn't getting my $750 back. Then I received a call from Heather telling me it was never written down that they would come back to move all the crawl space dirt and that she had talked to Sean (the manager) and he said he agreed with her. First off if I was a manager I would have called the customer to get both sides of the story but I have never talked to him. Once I completed the customer survey, I haven't heard from anyone since. I feel it would be in your best interest to take a close look at how things are ran in the Marion Ohio branch. Will attach some pics of how much dirt there was, but they were before the house was finished. Didn't get many after they were finished. But you get an idea of how much dirt I was left to deal with. Thanks

Clayton Homes house

We have lived in our manufactured home now for about a year. We've had several problem with the house and after a year of letting Clayton homes know, they keep saying they're coming out to the house to fix the issues but have had problems in doing so. Our countertop has pieces that have fallen off, the house wasn't fully painted when moving in, the stones on the fireplace are loose, the baseboards are loose, the house wasn't clean when we moved in and there were trash outside from the workers that we had to clean up. The house was definitely not move-in ready. And we have noticed Clayton homes several times and nothing has been fixed. We will not be purchasing another home from this company ever again. If these issues do not get resolved, we will be looking at an attorney.

Clayton Homes team leader in trim department. (janie matthews)

I was a good hard worker at the clayton homes plant in sulphur springs and i went to the office 5 times behind my TL she was disrespectful and did not care how she talked to you. I tried to get moved and they would not do it.. yes i loved my job and was there everyday. but they need to make it a places where you are happy. not where you get spoke to in any kind of way. she has lost her job before as a team leader for talking to people like she does. I loved doin what i done for the homes to get to there family nice. I just wish i could have got moved to something else instead of having to quit. like i say, i did speak to alot of people trying to get move. but did not happen so i had to quit. thanks for reading this and have a blessed day.

I purchased my home 12 years ago. I have recently had to replace exterior walls due to water damage because vinyl siding was not properly attached due to being trimmed off and pushed under the fascia. My name is Carmen Stork and I purchased from your Moffett road location in Jan of 2006. You can contact me via email at wtrfallady@aol.com. Or text at [protected]. Any help you can give me to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Clayton Homes a truck driver

One off your employees was driving next to us on the road, Exit 73 I-81 TN, and almost hit us multiple times. He was going at least 15 over the speed limit and tried to get around us when we were boxed in on all sides. Even though there was no room he switched lanes in front of us, no turn signal. And proceeded to swerve in and out of traffic, almost hitting us again before speeding away to the point where we, mind you we're going 5 over the speedlimit, couldn't see him within a minute or so. The number on the back of his truck was 0723, I'm not sure if this will help but I hope it does. I have a 1 year old in my car and I swear if my daughter wasn't in here I would have chased him down. Please confront this idiotic driver, people, could be hurt. Thank you.

Clayton Homes contractor

We built a porch on a new Clayton home in Mount Airy North Carolina for the Winston-Salem North Carolina sales office we have completed a beautiful job with almost $7, 000 worth of materials that Clayton paid for but they are not paying us for our labor our lawyer has given Scott & Dawn until Wednesday to make payment or we will proceed with legal actions and due to our pictures and statement from inspectors and bids from other contractors we were told it was an easy case that will settle out of court which will include up to 50% more than we are asking for labor plus legal fees which could come to $5, 000 or more and it would just help everybody out if this process could be expedited and handled by a member higher than Scott I will include some pictures so you can see how nice the work is 1 but you may look up there is a discrepancy that the job was to be done for $9, 000 labor Ben Scott changed it at the last minute saying that the $9, 000 was to be labor and material yet two weeks after the job started they increased the amount of materials by adding almost $3, 000 worth of vinyl railing instead of the wood which we agreed to do for no extra charge because we wanted to do a good job for Clayton and continue doing work for them there is definitely some fraudulent attempts here because he knew the whole time we agreed to do the job for< $9, 000 labor there are over 460 man hours on this job you may contact me at [protected] my name is Andrew Shumate.

Clayton Homes home

I purchased the Big Deal, fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Purchased from Clayton homes in Lexington, SC. I paid cash, the delivery and set up were a nightmare. They actually had installed 2 showers in the master bathroom. It took a year to get that corrected. I think they thought if they fed me a line of bull enough times I would have believed I had to keep it that way. I proved them wrong and finally had it corrected. You should see the mess they left under the home. They were suppose to lay down a barrier as the called it (a piece of plastic) between the ground and underneath of the home. When you go underneath at the end of the home, the ground is not covered and the plastic is still attached to the roll. Other debris was also left behind. When the folks were doing trim work after delivery the were actually using shoe polish to cover up the numerous staple marks. The refrigerator had a dent in the door, front and back doors were installed incorrectly, and as of today, the back door still has gaps.molding on the wall doesn't fit flush to the wall, had to have their maintenance come out to fix holes in the sheetrock above the doorway, I guess they didn't think I would notice that way up there. In the bedroom closet when you shut the door and it's dark you could see light coming from the outside. The closets have a kerosene smell, that I can't get rid of. Actually had the dryer plug, spark only to find out the electrical outlet wasn't installed correctly. Smoke detectors were not wired into the ceiling even though the parts were there to do so. They even used old or bad batteries that were failing immediately after moving in. I was suppose to have an outside faucet on the front and back, I only have it on the back, I was suppose to have electrical outlets on the front and back. None on the front. Only had the appearance of one on the back. On one of the visits to supposedly correct all that was wrong, they found out the outside outlet and the den outlet had not been tied in. They found this out when trying to use the outlets to plug in their power tools. Yes they were using the electricity that I was paying for to correct all their mistakes. Rep from Giles called me wanting to come out to look at things and as he said to make it right. We set of the appointment, and within in a couple of days he called to cancel, haven't heard from him since. Haven't heard from Clayton either. I did receive a call from a representative from Clayton Homes asking about my buying experience, before I could finish telling her about the nightmare she was thanking me as she hurried to endthe call. They really were not interested in what I had to say. The cabinets are falling apart, the Boards were splintering from the start. I could go on and on. It has been too much wrong. Oh but trust me when I say, I do advertise for them every chance I get, and I try not to leave out one horrible thing that is wrong with my place. Even the cabinets look look I have lived here for years. I'm sure within the next year or 2 I will be having to replace them. Best advice I could give anyone is run as fast as you can away from both the dealer and the builder. Research and you will see neither has great reviews

Warren Buffett owns Clayton Homes, how do you think he got rich. its the same stories over and over, they fail to do it right and many of the upper quality homes are just as bad. My homes sheet rock walls turned darker colors, every panel is a different shade after a few years, found out it was a poor quality sheet rock, the inter wall framing twisted because of a poor quality wood used. this seems to always happen over a few years after its mfg. basically you have to spend several thousand dollars to strip the walls and plaster the cracks and paint with a heavy superior paint, and those double windows of aluminum sweat and cause mold, change them to vinyl. and the greatest flaw was that the only exterior wall is vinyl siding and Styrofoam insulation, i was suppose to have OSB wrap which is like plywood. the lot were i had purchased my home was in SC but i was told later the owner had done a lot of wrong things selling homes and had cheated people out of over a $100k . everything is an option on a Clayton home so some things you think should be there are not, like water shut offs at sinks and towel holders in bath rooms. double check all water conections and check what outlets are controlled by the breakers

Clayton Homes security fraud alerts

After being pressured of forceful attempts to get a down payment and reluctant behavior iratic behavior over me a potential customer wanting to purchase a manufactured home for 40, 000.00 to combine a home and land package financed sell. After I completed the intake application after I sign a credit release and being called by their lender vanderbelt wanting my to sign an affidavit after they reran my credit the fraud alert went off on them. I asked why would you run my credit more than once, I was told that Clayton homes has nothing to do with vanderbelt and they don't work side by side even if their selling their homes. But when I called to talk to the selling agent their seem like one big family. They claimed they both were shocked at me having a fraud alert to let me know that someone us accessing my information without my knowledge. The guy said his name was Steve from vanderbelt and he did not want to verify now wanting me to complete a credit affidavit that does not see legal I even offered to call the credit agency to let them know about this company inquire and release the report but only if he could confirm the original one time credit firm from Clayton homes so if Clayton homes ran my credit it should be reviewed by their lender vanderbelt. I signed one form and made sure Megan the sakes rep know that it us not illegal for my security consumer fraud alert. A history of being frauded and taken advantage of prior
Credit report report scams attempts running credit and ruining score

Clayton Homes mold in my roof! it is a clayton homes

Vanderbilt and Clayton homes got me good where do i begin! Vanderbilt over charged me! the house was 84000 and when they got done adding all there fees for 30 years! It came out to be $ 260000! The guys at Clayton homes didn't fix anything right when the house was under warranty! We had to call them out to put the outlets back in the wall where they had just fell out, and a week later, after they made the repairs the outlet just fell right back out again! The hot water heater was leaking and now i got mold on my walls! They didn't fix the dishwasher right! I had to pull the dishwasher out myself, and when i got it out I had mold on the outside of my walls! But yet They claim they fixed it! But with all the trouble a person would think it couldn't get any worse, but oh my god it did get even worse! I noticed mold growing out of my ceiling! The ceiling caving in! I called the insurance company and they said they couldn't fix it because the contractors had just ripe the cover off it without taking the blots out! I had to call Clayton homes 20 times before they would even look at it! Then when they finally came out they only put shingles on it! They didn't do anything to the holes that the contractors had made in the roof! Its been two years seen that went down! Well now I have got mold growing in my insulation! I could go on and on about those two companies! My number is [protected]! Is there any class action law suits I can get in on! Is they any attorney out there that will take my case? If so please call me! I know I am not the first person to get screwed by these two companies!

Clayton Homes purchase complaint

Buying a home was probably one of the first biggest experiences of my life. Being a single mom at that time, you want to give your children everything. Trust is given and you pray that you will be taken of. I found my mobile home at the Clayton Homes in New Iberia, LA in 2009. My experience was not a pleasant one. First, there was tear in my linoleum, in front of my stove that was covered with a piece of carpet. They came back to fix it. Then my light fixture by the back door was not screwed in properly so my wall started swelling by my light switch. They fixed that. Today my husband pulls out the dishwasher and finds that the linoleum was not glued down, instead it was stapled. And the floor is not covered, it is bare wood. $52, 000. If I could sell it back I would. AWFUL!

Clayton Homes quality of home

I purchased my home Sept 2008, WE were originally please with the set up. However we did have to purchase the display model as they qui making the style we wanted. Well now its 2013 and the electrical outlet units hang out of the wall where you can see the live wires cracks in the ceiling, te cabines are crap and the kitchen drawers just hang because the pieces broke off and when we have replaced them they still break the floor boards are warped and when you walk on the carpet there is places where you can feel that they did not clean up well before laying it. I have left several messages at Clayton about some of these issues and noone ever returns my call. This was suppose to last me a lifetime and I am not happy about this at all. I also had to replace my refridgerator and dishwasher.

Clayton Homes power

I was told that my power would maybe take 2 or 3 days to get turned on. Its been 10 days. I was told that it could take another 3 weeks. When I call the home office all I get is the run around of its out of our hands. When I call the power company they told me that Clayton made the mistake. My sales Rep was very nice up to the time we signed the paperwork. Now he is nowhere to be found. I also had a deck added to my home. The stairs are uneven and not level. Was told that they would be fixed the next day. That was a week ago. The list goes on and on.

Will never buy from Clayton again

Clayton Homes cannot get my downpayment back

My family put in for an application to buy a Clayton home in March. The customer service seemed great and very helpful at the time. We live 3 hours from Denver so we were not able to come down often but we made the trip in early April to put the down payment of $2500 down. They gladly accepted the money and immediately deposited it. After leaving numerous messages and no returned calls we were frustrated and called the mortgage company. The paper work Clayton had submitted was not complete even though we were told numerous times everything is good we were going to be getting our house. I again had enough and requested my money back and they immediately called me back and asked me to give them 3 days till everything would be final. I waited for 3 days only to find out the mortgage company still did not have all the paper work. Again I had enough and asked for my money back. This time I have not heard back so I called to talk with a different home consultant. He also does the returns, I asked if my home consultant had put in for my refund 3 days prior like I requested and of course he had not. I was then told it would take at least another week and a half to receive payment after they request it. So now I am waiting again to see where my money is. This was the absolute WORST customer service I have ever received. They just don't care, especially after they have received your money. Its nothing but a run-around. I would never suggest this company to anyone!

Told to get ahold of griselda the manager. She will not take my call or return my call. Her email does not work. This is the worst customer service from any company! They take your money and drag doing anything. I live over 2hrs away! Will not be recommending to anyone and will gladly deter people from using them

Clayton Homes sold me junk

I purchased a Clayton home in 2011. It's the biggest piece of JUNK known to man. Floors are warped. Tile is coming away from the wall. Also has nails coming through it. Footings were not laid before brick foundation was laid. Siding is fading. you can hear birds chirp inside. Windows won't open. Have had to replace all faucets. Toilet seats and sinks which are made of plastic. If you want something to live in don't buy from this company. Was told I had a year warranty when sold the home. At first the came right out and fixed things. Then I was told they had been out twenty two times. Which was a lie. That I was to call the state inspector. Which I did.Someone from Clayton homes was at this inspection and accused me of damaging the place I live and am paying for monthly. If your smart invest in a vari-kennel instead of a Clayton Home. You'll be happier and save a whole lot of money and heartache.
