City Financial UK I did not receive a loan and am now out of pocket by £110

I recieved a text offering me a loan, telling me to ring [protected] and quote ref "DANNY". The advisor seemed professional and I was offered a loan of £500 which would be in my account within 3-5 working days. I was asked to pay an upfront fee of £65 which I was assured would absolutely guarantee that I would recieve the funds. I paid the fee on 09/03/11 using my debit card. I was told that I would be contacted by the lender to confirm the repayment details. The following day I was contacted by Loan Organisers who said that as my credit was so bad no British company would give me a loan so I was being dealt with by an Indian company. The advisor told me that to prove I could make the monthly repayments I would have to pay £56 upfront by Money Gram to Mo Khalid in New Dheli. I paid this then an hour later I was contacted agin by Loan Organisers who said my loan account would not accept £500 and I would have to have £650 instead but for this I would need to pay and extra £140. This is when I realised it was a scam. I have since tried to contact City Financial on their "helpline" number [protected] but no one ever answers and I have left numerous messages but have not been called back. I tried calling on [protected], the original number and asked to speak to a manager, just to have the advisors hang up on me. Needless to say I did not receive a loan and am now out of pocket by £110.

I knew this was a scam, I paid up front fee, 5 month ago, for a supposedly 1000 pound loan, told at 1st it would take only 2 weeks b4 I would receive the money from a lender who was suppose to of contacted me, surprise surprise no one did, so I contacted city financial and they told me oh your credit is bad so they put me on to this experion credit company, which they never did, cos I checked with experion and paid for a credit report to which, I sent on to city financial, but the thing was I had so many delays, weeks months go by without getting anywhere, now 2 weeks ago I contacted them, they told me once again to wait for a lender to contact me, well 2 weeks on, been trying to ring them all this week, no reply what a surprise, they like many others have taken us for a ride, they should be bought to court and put out of business for good .

I feel like a total idiot, I did the same yesterday, they asked me to pay a £69 fee upfront for a loan for £2000, and like a fool I gave my bank details, they said they would email me the contract that afternoon. I received no contract via email so contacted them, I was rudely hung up on several times and then realised if this was a legit company they would not behave that way, I contacted my bank straight away to cancel any pending payments and to cancel my card, luckily for me this has worked and no money has been taken out of my account, so I urge anyone who is going through this to cancel all bank cards as they can take money out whenever they like. Also would just like to ask did everyone sign the contract and post back to them before money was taken out of there account? I have now received the contract but will not be signing it, on the contract it asked for a signature allowing them £79 and that's all, it doesn't say anything about money they are going to lend you. Nothing but a scam and I feel so stupid giving them information.

again wish I read all this first. I paid £79 pounds and promised a loan. 3-5days. Well still nothing and other companies are texting saying they can give me a loan and I need to ring to process. :( Surely I have processed with City financial. I am so angry as that was my last money. I have contacted my bank who have said I have to wait 6 months. Before I can Claim it back.

Ok I've been scammed too. Feel like a fool writing this and should have read up on this so called company beforehand. Oh we'll, we live end learn by our mistakes. Same script as all the other posts on here, more or less identical. There must be something to do about companies like this ripping people off. I'm going to write and try to get my money back and am reporting to the FSA and the ombudsmen. These people need stopping.

Their scam and fraud is continuing. They even text me today from number +[protected] telling me that my loan application for £ 1500 is ready for finalising and asked me to call on [protected]. I know it is scam and that is why I do not attend any phone call until I know the person calling me and I do not entertain any such texts. I have now registered myself with TPS (telephone preference service) and it will soon stop all these unwanted calls and texts. Mohammad

Hi guys got some interesting news that might help. Any one heard of chargeback? ive taken this expaination from a forum i was looking at. Chargeback is a little known scheme which gives you a chance of getting your money back from your bank if you bought faulty goods, a service wasn't provided, or the company you bought something from went bust and your goods weren't delivered.

It works in a similar way to Section 75, which is a legal protection if you buy something on a credit card making the credit provider jointly liable with the retailer if things go wrong. But while Section 75 only works for credit card purchases over £100, and other credit agreements,
Hope this helps someone im going to give it a go ATB
