I had a hard time even finding a number to call about this one and they will never write you back. I just called my bank's customer service provider and explained I wanted to stop charges. She three way called the number on my bank statement for the charge and told them she was calling from the bank. They agreed to cancel the "membership" and said I would incur more fees.

Holy crap! I just looked into my account and they took out 14.95 and made my account overdraw ={ I have direct deposit so I had some other charges come out after the fact but all in all I ended up about 100 bucks in the hole because of something that I didn't know I was signed up for in the first place. I hope somehow this company gets shut down. It's hard enough to be in school work take care of finances and deal with gas prices without having some imaginary company sneak 20 bucks out of your account every month... ={ I am going to try to call the number and I will write an update. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help stop this madness.

I hate crap like this! I can't believe this happened! It is unbelievalbe that a company can get away with this. This is a blantant scam! I am very careful about reading everything I sign up for and I KNOW I didn't sign up for any monthly reporting "membership!" I'm thinking about contacting the Better Business Bureau to complain. There has to be someting someone can do to stop this from happening to other people. Tell everyone you know NOT to visit this company's site, or sign up for any "free" credit reporting or protection with them.

FREE CREDIT REPORT - THIEVES. I too requested a free credit report and was charged $14.95 without my approval.

Those singing boys on TV need to find a new gig. Free Credit Report.com. I called WACHOVIA and their
GREAT SERVICE told me they would immediately cancel the charge. Thank you. These thieves would probably keep making withdrawals months later without my knowledge. I am disgusted with these SCAM artists and that my Banking Institution had to cancel my debit card to stop them from further charging my account down the road. There should be a law required against these type of charges on a personal bank acct. I could not get thru to 877/481-6825.

I was told that i would not get charged until the 14 day trial period, and the day that i signed up, i was charged $14.95. I dont want to be charged, and i dont want an account with you guys, expecially since all you do is lie about charging my credit card! I want my money back!

I WANT THE 14.95 CHARGE REMOVED FROM MY ACCOUNT TODAY 7/2/08 BECAUSE I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS AND WAS UNAWARE OF THE CHARGE. THE IS SCAMMING PEOPLE AND IS ILLEGAL. REMOVE IT TODAY OR I WILL TAKE ACTION.

Yes, I had problems too...but it was because I did not cancel acct with them..call [protected] to cancel your account they will give you a confirmation number and check to make sure it has been done.

THEY ARE A RIP OFF! I never agreed for the charges of $14.95 to my credit card. I clicked that I wanted the free credit report one time. I am now being charged for something I did not agree to!
When I call ([protected])them they refuse to cancle my account until I informed them that I was online with the Comsumer Report and was planing to joine the class action suit against them. They then closed my account or so they said. I will see if there is anothe charge against my account.

Today, I checked my bank account and noticed that I had been charged a total of $14.95 for a subscription that I believe didn't purchased. I called the [protected] and the were able to cancel (in quote) the subscription and they were going to refund me the money. I told them I wanted them to also send me via-email a letter stating that it was definitely cancelled. I did check my email and I did receive a cancellation notice. They said that within 7-10 business days I should have the money refunded. I basically don't believe nor trust this, therefore I'm going to contact my bank regarding this matter. I spoke to ID #4347 Sandrea. This is a scam, whoever agrees to take this up to the courts let me know, lot's of people are falling for this and when reading these complaints it makes me wonder if they're even going to return those $14.95 at all.

I called the number - The charge is now up to $14.95! They told me that when you sign up for your "Free Credit Report" you are automatically signed up for a subscription for Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring. They then explain that if you don't cancel within 7 days of getting your "Free Credit Report" that they will not be able to refund the charge. I told the woman on the phone that was completely unacceptable and demanded to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold and then said that they WOULD be able to issue me a refund. She gave me a confirmation number...We'll see what happens.

How did you get our visa card number to charge our account. We did not order or subscribe to your plan.

We want a full refund.

As a result of your actions, we have canceled our visa card. since you can not refund back to the card, respond to this email and i will pass the info along to the visa card provider. They may want to talk to you also.

This company is not a scam, there just a bit sneaky. CIC Triple Advanta is the same company as Free Credit Report.com Which I am sure most of us has signed up for atleast once. What happens is that if you do not call and cancel your account after the free trial you get for the first month, they keep charging you the monthly fee. I called my bank and retrieved the number from them. All you have to do is call and cancel. Simple as that. Of course the only problem is you cant get any of the money back that they took, but atleast they wont take anymore from you. Here's the number I called, [protected].

And by the way, some of you are lucky, I was being charged $21.90 every month!

i was being charged each month.

Solution - went to my bank, called that company to cancel that what ever it was, and cancelled my debit card. and got a new one, which the company did not have.

I to have incurred charges and have no idea what or how they got into my bank account. I don't remember giving my information to anyone. I did try and get my credit report from one of the sites, so I guess that is where they got it. Thanks to all who have lodged complaints. I know that I am not the only one.

I was really pissed about this too... i found a number on their website and called [protected]). The woman canceled my account immediatly and is supposedly refunding my $14.95. I also called my bank and they said that if I had any more problems with the company I could file paperwork through them and my bank would go after the ### of freecreditreport.com.

I tried the free credit thing on Jan 7th, and called them on Feb 7th to cancel as not to have any charges. Their number by the way is [protected]. They said no, because Jan had 31 days and I should have cancelled. I told them if I did not recieve a refund, I would post pages on My Space, Face Book, Yahoo Groups, etc and make as many aware as possible. They promised a refund... 7 to 10 days... we shall see.

01/31/2008 CIC*TRIPLE ADVANTA $12.95-

The statement on my check cashing visa or how every I signed without knowing looks like the above item. I called the [protected] # and was on hold for about 5 minutes. I finally got through to a customer service representative and after listening to her trying to sell me the great benefits. I repeated three simple words "'cancel my account". I said the three simple words cutting of the customer representativ e in mid-sentence with a respectfull and monatone voice and finally got what I wanted a cancellation of the acive account.

CIC*Triple Advanta is Experian/FreeCreditReport.com's Triple Advantage Credit monitoring service. It's Experian's credit monitoring service... but they suck you in thru the "freecreditreport.com" website... you think you're at the government sponsored site, but you're not... you're at an Experian site which uses misdirection and misleading information to get you to sign up for something you didn't intend. You can cancel your Experian Triple Advantage Credit monitoring service any time by calling: [protected].

And when you're done with them, tell em to piss off.

My account was charged $18.95 and I took the first person's advise on this thread.

My bank representative three-way called CIC Triple Advanta and CIC's rep argued that their disclosure statement is clearly visible and non-refundable. I asked him if he wanted me to send him the link to this site to see how many complaints are listed against this company and ultimately promised to refund my money.

Also, my bank rep was kind enough to tell me that she uses annualcreditreport.com which is truly free! Nor do you have to list your bank information! Thank you Wachovia!

They have also been charging me without any notification. I called and got my account cancelled. Hopefully that is the last I will have to hear from them. I did get this address and fax # from the person on the phone to try and get the charges credited back.

Ugh. I got a random charge to one of my bank accounts and called my bank's fraud department. Wachovia has awesome customer service and I was able to be credited the charge back and directed to the number [protected].

I have since canceled the debit card associated with that bank account, and I waited for a rep. from freecreditreport for about 10 minutes and had them cancel the account. They told me I didn't get my access code and offered a free month of monitoring, I told them no and got no further hassle and was told my membership is now canceled. I'm surprised I wasn't bothered with other stupid offers. I guess they figured out Americans aren't as dumb as the media portrays...

I just looked and noticed I was getting charged this 12.95 also 2 times. I called the number [protected] and had the account that I didnt know I had cancelled. It did not take long and the lady seemed nice, but I was pissed and kind of rude. Oh, well. Hope this helps some.

This is from he free credit report you always see and hear about on tv. They ask you to use your credit card to get the report however. then they get you every month. The only way to cancel this is to call [protected]. Its the number to the free credit customer service. You have to call to cancel your account, you cannot do it online. It took me about 10 minutes to cancel. Hope this helps.

I am too getting charged... I dont even remember giving out my credit card information..I thought I signed up for a one time three month deal not a monthly charge... anyway I called to cancel and the rep went through the long benefits speech trying to make me change my mind. Supposedly he canceled my account, lets see what happens next month.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR FREECREDITREPORTdotCOM! Apparently, in very small print within "terms and conditions" you will find that if you do not cancel your 30 day "trial membership" then you will be billed $12.95/month for a subscription to view your credit report! I didn't even spot the payment until the third time I was billed the $12.95. . However, I called my bank and they will credit the charges back to my account. I had to speak with a customer service rep. from Free Credit Report and she kept insisting that I keep my subscription (not to mention that I could barely understand a damn word she was saying). The charges are NON-REFUNDABLE from the Free Credit Report company. The name "FREE Credit Report" is misleading and falsely advertised. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company. Shame on them.

IMPORTANT: To stop further charges you just need to go to the bank and cancel your debit card that way they have no way of charging you. Also, you need to contact the company and cancel your "membership" so that the company doesn't try to give you bad credit.

I called the number and was on hold for about 5 minutes before Rebecca picked up the line. She verified my SS# and said I would not be charged again. She did not try to sell me on the services and was very pleasant on the phone. Maybe it's the luck of the draw when getting one of their reps to help.

I called to cancel my account six months ago and they ensured me that I account is canceled but I am still being charger every month. What is going on this company needs to be prosecuted for fraud.
