On 1/28/2026 @approx 2:45 am My daughter went to the Hospital ER. She is 19 and has never gone to the ER by herself, the woman that was handling her Insurance intake came in and was trying to get her insurance info. My daughter did not have her card she had mine which was a mistake on her part. The Admin told her that's not how insurance works, she then told her that she would not be seen without insurance, my daughter called me on the phone asking about her insurance, she said the woman kept pointing to the screen saying her ins was inactive. I told my daughter that's untrue, the woman then said well the only way she could be seen if she paid a 100$ co-pay. My daughter started crying and didn't know what to do, the woman kept rolling her eyes and stated she had other customers to tend to. Excuse me but aren't they patients. My daughter paid the 100$ which isn't even my insurance copay for an UC visit. My daughter had fallen down the steps and was in extreme pain, not to mention suffers from anxiety. This is highly unacceptable and unprofessional. I work for a small medical office and if I can find someone's insurance ID, I'm pretty sure a large company like CC can do the same. I have reported this to my insurance company as well since my daughter's insurance was active for the Calander year on 01/01/2026. I have filed a grievance with my insurance company as well.
Claimed loss: 100.00
Desired outcome: I would like her money back, an apology from CC to my daughter for the unprofessional treatment she received, as well as a write up for this individual. I seriously doubt this was the only time this team member was disrespectful.
