Cartwright's Plumbing & Heating

This company is a rip-off. They charge way too much for their services. I'm not just talking about a little bit extra. I'm talking about a lot. They charged me $4,554.00 to fix a pipe leak that only took them 3.5 hours. My wife didn't know any better and paid them. Don't make the same mistake we did. Stay away from these guys.

I called Cartwright's on 10/1 for my tenant's toilet. A technician came on 10/2 and said it needed an "interior refit". He called his office (not sure if it was *** or Cartwright's) and said it would cost $317.00. I thought it was expensive but agreed to pay. He replaced the handle, lever and valve in an hour. I got an invoice for $470.00 which I didn't agree to. I feel like I was tricked and charged too much. I wouldn't have paid almost $500.00 for Toto parts on an old toilet. I would have bought a new one.

I got a response fast when I asked for an estimate for AC installation. I was told I'd get the estimate in 2 days, which I thought was good. But I didn't get it. I called and was told it would take 4 more days because of parts pricing delay and weekend and holiday. Still no estimate. I called again 5 days later and was told I'd get it the following Monday. But I didn't. That's it, I'll go somewhere else.

Be careful with Cartwrights Plumbing & Heating. We had a 5 year relationship with them for our evaporative cooling maintenance. They replaced our hot water heater for $2500. At our spring maintenance, they replaced a thermostat for the radiant heater for $120. At our fall maintenance, we turned it on for the first time and it didn't work. We asked them to check it at our fall A/C maintenance and they said it was a valve on the boiler. They asked for $800 for the fall maintenance and I told them we paid for both seasons and the thermostat at the spring visit. They said they had no record of it and I thought I was wrong. Later, they found the payment. When they returned to replace the valve for the radiant heat, they found the problem was with the thermostat installed in the spring. They replaced it and told us we never paid in the first place and it would be over $500 after they had already replaced it. I was quoted $120 in the spring. I told them it was too much for a thermostat that took 5min to snap on. They removed it and left, then sent us a client dismissal email. We have spent 5 years overpaying them as loyal customers. Avoid them and find someone more reputable!
