Car Toys review: Installation error

On 09/11/2026, we had a new radio and backup camera installed in our 2021 Thor Freedom Elite. Immediately afterward, the RV completely shut down — no power, no ignition, and our keys stopped working. A technician from Cascade RV came by and confirmed the issue: the radio was wired into the ignition, which caused the RV’s computer to disable everything as a theft‑prevention response.

We even replaced the battery, and nothing changed.

If the RV could start, we would’ve driven it to Bellevue ourselves. Instead, the keys now need re‑calibration, the RV won’t turn over at all, and we’re being told to tow it 40 minutes away — at our own expense — for a problem caused by the installation. What’s most surprising is that no one from Car Toys Bellevue has reached out with any solution or support.

We’ve disputed the charges until we know the full cost of undoing this damage. And if the repair ends up costing more than the installation itself, we’ll have to escalate this further.

We need a prompt, responsible resolution.
