Canadian Appliance Source Terrible service experience and security concerns at canadian appliance source

Review for Canadian Appliance Source

I am writing to share my deeply disappointing experience with Canadian Appliance Source (CAS). I ordered a Bosch SHE3AEM5N dishwasher online on June 8, 2024, through Randeen Saunders, a sales representative. I received a $40 discount for purchasing online and was asked to pay part of the amount upfront, with the remainder to be paid upon pickup. I was assured there was one dishwasher in stock.

On June 9, I booked a car to transport the dishwasher, costing me $100, and went to the warehouse to pick it up. Upon arrival, Malik Valentine, the representative at the warehouse, collected the remaining payment without first verifying the availability of the dishwasher. After paying, I was made to wait for an excruciating 1 hour and 30 minutes while the staff searched for the item. Finally, they informed me that the dishwasher could not be located and advised me to contact my sales representative to arrange another pickup time.

This situation was extremely inconvenient, as I had also hired a plumber, costing another $100, who was waiting at my home to install the dishwasher. Additionally, I paid $25 to book the elevator for the delivery. In total, I spent $225 for absolutely no gain.

When I tried to contact Randeen Saunders, I found that his voicemail provided incorrect information about his availability, saying he was off Monday and Friday when in fact, he was off Monday and Tuesday. When I finally reached him, he was unapologetic and simply blamed the warehouse, instructing me to pick up the dishwasher again on June 15, 2024, and call him before leaving.

Given that I have a 10-month-old baby and urgently needed a functioning dishwasher, this experience was not only frustrating but also entirely unacceptable. The level of service I received was far below my expectations, and the lack of accountability from both the warehouse and the sales representative was shocking.

Furthermore, I was asked to provide full credit card details over the phone, which poses a significant security risk. Sharing sensitive information in such an unsecured manner is highly concerning.

In the absence of satisfactory customer service and any form of compensation for my inconvenience and expenses, I decided to cancel my order. This entire experience has been a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn other potential customers about the risks and poor service associated with Canadian Appliance Source.

I will not be returning to CAS for any future purchases, and I strongly advise others to reconsider before making any transactions with this company.

Canadian Appliance Source Dual Gas / Electric Cafe Range

I recently purchased the gas range. When it was delivered we noticed that it needs a 220-volt power outlet. The salesman that sold it to us never mentioned we would need that. I called the salesman to notify him that I would have to go to their website and request an exchange to get the all-gas range. I was then notified by their "After Sales" team, that I would be charged a 25% "restocking fee" plus an additional fee to pick it up. I told them that is outrageous since we didn't use the range at all. Horrible customer experience.

Complaint – Canadian Appliance Source

“Policy” not disclosed to buyer in any contract or bill of lading

False information by CAS staff to make sales and keep customer money

Complaint Allegations:

CAS provides False information through CAS staff to make sales and keep customer money. Later states they have a “Policy”, which is not disclosed on any7 sales contact or bill or lading, or by employees, to avoid any responsibility for damaged appliances.

Full account:

We decided to renovate our home and engaged a cabinet maker to order new cabinets for our home. The cabinet maker recommended we pick and order appliances early in the process so that the cabinets could be built to fit our new appliances.

On March 9, 2023, on the telephone, I picked 4 Frigidaire appliances with the help of sales person Hargun Singh of the Canadian Appliance Source. I explained the situation to Mr. Singh and told him that we would not be able to receive the appliances until the fall of 2023. Mr. Singh said that was no problem and I only needed to give a deposit to hold the appliances - Mr. Singh advised I would be able to schedule the delivery in the future and pay for the appliances in full then. I gave a deposit of $2150.00 and order number C2480207 was created on March 9, 2023 through Canadian Appliance Source. The total order value was $8600.00 for 4 appliances including a dishwasher, fridge, wall oven, and cooktop.

In the months that followed, I received weekly phone calls and emails asking me to schedule the delivery of the appliances and pay for the full value. Each time I explained that our house was under renovation and we did not yet need the appliances. At the end of August 2023, I received a another call stating that if I did not schedule the delivery of the appliances and pay for them in full, the appliances would not be in stock and I would not receive the appliances I ordered. This was extremely concerning as my new kitchen cabinets had been made specifically for these appliances. I told Mr. Singh that I could receive the appliances and put them in my living room until the kitchen was ready for them - Mr. Singh said this would be fine. We scheduled a delivery for September 20 2023. The delivery staff brought the appliances into my living room and left them wrapped in their boxes. The delivery staff said that if there was any damage to the appliances to let CAS know and they would resolve the problem. I did not sign the bill of lading stating that I received and inspected the appliances. There was nothing noted on the bill of lading, the purchase contract, or by CAS staff, stating that I only had 48 hours to note any damage to the appliances.

On October 26, 2023, we opened the appliances boxes and noted that the dishwasher had a large dent in the door from shipping or delivery. I contacted CAS immediately and they stated that their policy is that all damage must be reported 48 hours of receiving the appliance. This is not noted on any of the contract I have with CAS, and their staff (sales staff and delivery staff) were aware that we would not be opening the appliances for several weeks and had told me that if there was damage CAS would resolve any problems.

CAS has refused to repair the door of the dishwasher, send a replacement washer, or provide me with a refund. As the damage occurred during shipping and delivery, the damage to the product is not covered by Frigidaire warranty. I have spent $903.94 on this dishwasher, it has a large dent in the door and CAS refuses to offer any satisfactory solutions, other than to say that their policy is that 48 hours after delivery they are not responsible.

Claimed loss: 903.94

Desired outcome: Refund, Repair or Replacement

Canadian Appliance Source It's very close to a crime that cas should promote and sell ia dealer services/w3 solutions extended warranty products.

We bought 3 Major Appliances from CAS on [protected], spending $8238, including $508 for 3 extended warranties for the 3 appliances.

Firstly, the delivery was a sad story, with the range being damaged beyond repair and eventually replaced, but not before three weeks of begging to have it returned due to the damage, all because the damage was not spotted before we signed off, too soon during the delivery. The dishwasher could not be unpacked for examination because the installer was not going to arrive for three days, however the delivery personnel needed us to sign off as to it's condition, so I unpacked it for inspection. It passed inspection. The fridge exterior was unpacked for examination, but I had to unpack the interior parts and install them. It was later discovered the doors were not alligned properly and a local repair company attended to that at the request of the manufacturer, all for not, as no re-allignment could be done properly.

Fast forward to [protected]-the fridge was constanly wet inside and too loud. Transglobal was dispatched under warranty. The repairman could not find the problem so he ordered a new fan. After waiting until [protected] I finally got our own local repairmen who said the drain was iced up, causing the water to accummulate iside the fride. I tried to iniate a another warranty claim was told it was received but claim number was assigned and communicatio received as to why not. No communication from Transglobal or W3 Solutions until my third followup on [protected], and an escalation request a week earlier, were we finally called by Transglobal with an appointment for [protected]! We'll see what they figure out but our hopes are very reserved right now.

Desired outcome: The best possible outcome for us would be to get a full refund and the return of all 3 appliances so we can live in peace again. Or refund for the warranty.

Canadian Appliance Source Purchase of GE Appliance Package

We visited the Calgary South store and purchased a GE Profile appliance package (microwave, fridge, stove, dishwasher) and scheduled delivery on September 22, 2023. Appliances were delivered on September 23. However, after installation on September 26 the GE dishwasher flooded kitchen due to a manufacturer’s default.

After conferring with salesperson, we were forced to file for return and replace. However a GE technician arrived on October 10, confirmed defect and ordered parts. He will return when parts arrive - don’t know when.

Any other retailer we felt with in past would have responded immediately with a replacement. That’s what I expected.

Desired outcome: Substantial refund for my troubles.

Canadian Appliance Source Unreasonable customer care

Rather than ordering my new fridge online, I chose to go into the store to speak with a salesperson to ensure I was purchasing the right appliance for my space. Unfortunately, I was sold an appliance that does not in fact fit my space. I measured the width and height of my old fridge but the salesperson failed to consider door swing clearance (something I knew nothing about until this terrible experience). The fridge was delivered, my old fridge was removed, I was advised by the delivery guys to let the fridge sit for 2 hours before plugging it in. Fast forward 5 hours later, when I, the single parent, returned home to find that when I slide the fridge into place, one of the doors can't open because there isn't enough clearance for the door swing. Door swing - something the salesperson should have considered when selling me this fridge.

After several unhelpful conversations with customer service, I now have a fridge that is useless to me. I was told the company policy is that the appliance can't be plugged in. How is it reasonable to expect anyone to live without a functioning fridge? The customer service I received in trying to resolve this issue was nothing short of a complete disappointment.

Desired outcome: Exchange of product at zero additional cost to me.

Canadian Appliance Source Damaged new bosch ascenta dishwasher

Ordered a new dishwasher on Monday. Dishwasher was scheduled to be picked up and installed by a third part installer of their recommendations. Dishwasher arrived on Thursday Aug 24, 2023 and upon opening removing the shipping wrap, it was clear that it was damaged. The outer corner had a dent and the insulation around the unit was cracked - not critical looking until we opened the dishwasher. Upon opening up the dishwasher the upper left hand corner inside the dishwasher was crumpled in and the seal was broken. The installers advised me that they couldn't install it and directed me to contact CAS which I did. CAS sent me a form to fill in and I had to upload pictures of the damage - the installer left the damaged dishwasher in my garage as they do not return damaged items - and advised me that I had to get CAS to pick up the dishwasher when they brought the new unit. The installer also filled in his forms right away identifying that he was unable to install this unit due to the extensive damage inside the unit. Through many calls and emails, CAS offered a 10% discount off the price of the dishwasher and denied a replacement. This is not good service at all. I cannot get anyone to understand the extent of damage to this machine and the damage it would cause in my house due to leakage from the broken seal at the top. This is ridiculous. The total of this order is close to $1500 which includes a Premium Protection Plan for 3 additional years full coverage. This is a huge amount of money to spend for ZERO customer service and no dishwasher. I am appalled. I CANNOT BELIEVE that this company is allowed to operate like this and that we are left without a functioning unit. Since when is it acceptable to sell a broken unit and they get to walk away. I have purchased every appliance from this business and have had nothing but EXCELLENT service until now. I will continue to tell everyone about this company and will upload all of the emails and pictures for all to see. I am also contacting Ontario Consumer Protection, plus my Credit card company and Better Business Bureau and to the TV and social media. I cannot stop until this is resolved. I am out $1500 and many many hours of grief.

Desired outcome: Replacement damage unit with new. Deliver new and Pick up the damaged unit. Schedule the installation. Adjust price 10% discount plus the junction box free of charge as offered already.

Canadian Appliance Source Sales and service

Bought a Range,Microwave and refrigerator in April and required for June . Salesperson says timeline is no problem. July rolls around and I’m told the Range will be delayed till late October `(no phone call ,no warning)

I have asked for the Fridge and microwave to be delivered rather than wait till end of October for all three appliances. Not a problem, Appliances are delivered on a Saturday and the delivery guys pull the fridge out of the box on the drive way so that it will fit thru the front door. They set it down and I sign off, it takes 10 minutes to pull off all the tape and packing foam and realize there is no door handles. Contact Canadian and I am directed to their Montreal contact Center where I’m told they would look into it . 4 days later ,still waiting for that guy to call back. In the meantime , I had called my sales rep on the Monday asking to find me the door handles , again waiting for him to call back. I call the customer care and they tell me they can either call their parts distributor for Bertazzoni or I can call direct. I choose to call direct, the point of contact says that he doesn’t believe the fridge comes with handles and must be ordered separately., of which I say is BS as I’m looking at the picture of the fridge that my salesman had printed off with the price and it clearly depicts handles on the fridge,it also came with hardware to mount the handles . He says thats weird and he will discuss with his supervisor and get back to me in two hours , the day has slipped by and waiting for that guy to call.

These guys have failed at every level of customer service and I’m left with no answers, no door handles and no Range .

Desired outcome: Start with a phone call and send door handles immediately

Canadian Appliance Source Not addressing customer concerns

I bought a refrigerator at CAS, it got delivered on July 21st. I was told by the delivery men to let in sit for 2hrs. After 2hrs, i went remove the taping, etc and noticed it's a different fridge. My fridge has been taken away, instantly i called the service line and wanted my old fridge back and they said there's nothing they can do(this is around 5pm). I told them i don't have a fridge, again i'm being told there's nothing i can do. They asked me fill out an exchange form on their website and I did.

July 22nd I waited around and didn't get any response until 1pm or so, I decided to go to the store that i bought the fridge from (Kitchener CAS). They also said there's nothing they can do. I told them that i don't have a fridge and i wanted my old fridge back. The response was sorry, we can't do that, we don't know where it is. At the same time, we noticed a mistake on the CAS website regarding this fridge, the pictures were uploaded wrong by CAS, the manager also acknowledged that. So i bought the fridge based on the pictures but what i paid for was for a different fridge. Later that night, i received 1 email and it's confirming they received my exchange form and are looking into the issue.

On Monday July 24th, i waited until around noon no one has contacted me. I called the service line again and they said a request has been put into Samsung for a service call. I said what? I don't need service, i need to return the fridge and get my money back, they said i have to give them 1-2 business days, i said i'm without a fridge, all my groceries has gone bad, i have young kids. The operator said there's nothing he could do.

Tuesday July 25th- I contacted Samsung and they said it's needs to go through CAS, they don't deal with third party issue. I emailed the case manager at 1:30pm and let him know that, no response. At around 5pm, i called the service line again, told them that Samsung said it's all CAS problem and they have nothing to do with it. The operator just said there's nothing they can do, they are waiting for Samsung.

July 26th- I went to the store again, the manager asked your issue is not resolved yet? I said i wouldn't be here if it did. i told them i want my money back and get their fridge out of my house. She made some calls, sounds like to the service department explaining how they uploaded the wrong pictures, etc and how i've been without a fridge since July 21st. Once she was done with the calls, she said i promised you it will get resolved by tomorrow morning. She asked me to go home and take couple of pictures of the fridge and responded to the email thread that i've been using, i did that.

July 27th- today, at around 12pm, i email and asked for an update, no response, nothing...

I need help to get my money back and their fridge out of my house.

Canadian Appliance Source Not addressing customer issues.

I bought a fridge at CAS Kitchener. It was delivered on Friday July 21st and i was asked to leave for 2hrs the delivery men. Once i started to removing the tape on the freezer, i noticed it was not the one i orderd. I called right away because my old (still working fridge) was taken away. Immediately the person answering the service line said there is nothing he can do. He asked me to fill out an exchange form on-line, i did. Didn't get anything email or phone call back the next day so i headed to the Kitchener store. same thing there, the store manager said there's nothing we could do. At the same time, we figure out the issue why the fridge was different. It ended up being the pictures on ad was wrong from the CAS website, the manager admitted it was CAS fault. I received a confirmation on Saturday evening that my exchange form has been received. I waited until Monday, at this point all my groceries has gone bad, no fridge! I called in to service again and asked for an update, service is telling me "yeah, i can see a service request for your fridge", i said what? I don't need a service request, i want to exchange my fridge. The person said, yeah...um, um,...we're waiting for Samsung to resolve this. Again, i asked for a manager but none is around. I called again on Tuesday evening, again, the operator took the call said the same thing, "nothing we can do, waiting on Samsung service", again I said I don't need service, i need my fridge exchange( I also reached out to Samsung and they said it's CAS issue). I went to the Kitchener store again on Wed July 26th, store manager said there was a mis-understanding of your issue, i promised it will get resolved tomorrow morning. I emailed the case manager at noon today July 27th, no respond, nothing from CAS.

Desired outcome: I need my money back so i can go buy another fridge, get the fridge out of my house! Compensate me for all the groceries and the stress into my family's lives.

Canadian Appliance Source Delivery of microwave & microwave trim kit - total cost 1,332 prepaid shipping $89.95

I used to be a huge fan of this store and had in the past bought many appliances. But customer service has deteriorated dramatically:

1) I wasn't told part of my on line order item was out of stock until after paid in full and received delivery details days later.

2) When I wanted to cancel the order I was promised on the phone that I could ship the available item immediately and the second out of stock item would be shipped no additional charge later on arrival

3) It turns out they will not ship the second item and it must be picked up. It showed up in another city for pick up 1 hour away. They refused to issue a credit for the second delivery or refund the first delivery charge. I wanted to cancel the entire order and they refused as I had taken delivery of the first item (after being lied to).

4) To learn there was nothing they could do to fix this, I was on hold on the online chat as #1 in queue for 50 min (until I gave up), and was twice told someone would follow-up in person and no one did. When some one finally followed up they couldn't help me other then moving the item for pick up 20 minutes away instead of 1 hour.

In conclusion - they don't really have a customer care team with enough staff to respond to customers or any ability to resolve problems. They will admit to giving wrong information and don't care.

Desired outcome: refund the original delivery cost since this delivery of the complete order (2 items) was not performed as promised forcing myself as customer to drive to pick up location for the second out of stock item.

Canadian Appliance Source Dishwasher

I saw a cheaper price on internet from a local store 3h after purchasing a dishwasher (April 8th) and they never wanted to match the price and reimbourse the extra paid!

I sent the cheaper price & local store link to the salesman (Luis Miguel Herrera Fong) and told him that I would bring back the dishwasher. He told me he would take care of it on the 10th so I didn't bring back the dishwasher. Nothing was done on the 10th and he was hard to catch for the following days.

I was then told to contact customer service because he couldn't do anything. Customer service told me on the 19th (Sonia Clair) that she was sending a note to salesman without wanting to tell me what it was but that he would be able to take care of it.

I've tried to contact (phone + email) the salesman many time with no answer...

Today, May 3rd, customer service told me that the company policies don't offer to match prices after it's delivered, that I can return it if I want! Almost 1 month after... I should have done it right away, shame on me to trust the salesman and to CAS.

Order #L2518703

Desired outcome: Just want to get a reimbursement of 108.09$ for what I bought and paid too much compare to a local store (Meubles RD)

Canadian Appliance Source Employees

I have placed an order over the phone on 2023-03-27 and purchases a washer and dryer.

I noticed that I was overcharged and I contacted the employee with no response.

I tried again to contact the employee the following day on his extension number but I was not able to get a hold of anyone.

I spoke to a salesperson and he was not able to cancel the order and redirected me to the same employee. He hung up the phone one me as soon as I asked his name. I called customer care ( Nishta - employee number 144), and the agent was rude, did not want to cancel the order or help in anyway and redirected me to the same sales agent.

At this point, I have called your company 4 times and have still not been helped. I have asked to speak to a manager and none of your employees would connect me with one. Finally, as soon as I sent an email filing a complaint, I was informed that someone canceled my order. I was told that they do not have a manager by one of your employee. This is so unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. What a joke. This is the last time I purchase from you and will pass the word around so no one experience this poor service by your employees.

Desired outcome: Get your employees trained properly and ensure you have managers on call for additional support and resolution. Shame on you.

Canadian Appliance Source Worst Service

Don't ever buy appliances from here. They are just trying to get your money, don't care about service. They sold us a fridge open box and a oven saying that all are in stock and can deliver right away. In reality, they only delivered the fridge without the oven. None even called us to tell why they dont deliver the oven. Once we asked, they say it is out of stock. We only have oven until next 2 month. We cant wait and want to cancel the order, they dont let us cancel the order. Sales say it is customer service responsibility. Customer service say talked to sales. You will be the ball that they through you in between. Noone will solve it for us. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE. They asked to go online and fill the return form. And then refuse . They forced us to take the fridge. Charge delivery for both alliances. You can buy elsewhere with bundle discount and better service. DONT BUY WITH THEM, YOU ONLY MAKE YOURSELVES ANNOYED AND WAIT YOUR TIMES.

Canadian Appliance Source Extremely poor and rude delivery service

They charged us twice for moving the fridge to downstairs, they didn’t do it and left. We showed them the order sheet to explain to them they were not listening at all but quickly fleeing away, even though they saw us standing at their car window talking to them, they turned their heads and just drove away. This presents not only an extremely poor service level but also a very rude and unacceptable attitude, as if customers owe them money to start with.

Desired outcome: To complete the fridge move

After 4 days continuously calling they sent email return approve with 25% restocking fees. I requested to waive restocking fees because unit is same condition as its received, now they are asking 15% restocking fees. But i dont want to pay any restocking fees.
