We don't know much about how Camping World handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Camping World and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Camping World class a jayco precept bought from camping world columbia sc

We were told to drive our camper 1 time then bring it in for any issues we found. We drove it to florida and found the refrig not working. Someone had broke the fender when we purchased it. They repaired it but it came back apart before we made it home from the dealership. The steering is messed up and pulls. We gave them a long list of issues and told them we needed it back within 4 weeks because we have a trip planned for the 4th of July. Checked at 1 week and it hadn't even been moved. Checked at 2 weeks and it hadn't been moved. Here we are a week from our trip and I doubt it's been moved as of yet. We have shopped at Camping World in Columbia SC for years but this is the first time we purchased a camper from them. BIG MISTAKE. We have purchased campers from 2 other dealerships in the past with no issues. You'd think if you pay $115, 000 for a camper they would care about their customers.

Camping World service department in houston still working on coach for six months.

We bought an Cyclone 4200 an needed warranty work done on a list of things . I dropped of my coach on Jan 31, 2018 and it is still not finished. In February and March I was in contact with the service department and they told me they were short on techs because of the RV show and boat show. The coach was being serviced for a list of things such as led light replacement, door panel replacement, molding and wallpaper panels. I am also connected with the Manufacturer Heartland rvs. In May I asked the service department what was taking so long and they replied that they were being sent the wrong parts. I contacted Heartland and to my disbelief they informed me that the first request for parts was not submitted until mid April. This is over 3 month since I dropped it off. I called again to Camping world an the service department told me that the last part was order so I called to get the tracking number from Heartland. The part arrived on June 12 to Camping World. Our couch was supposed to be ready Mon the 18th. I went today to pick it up and arrived at 3pm and was told it would be 20mins. At 5pm I was told the were cleaning it, then at 6pm they left it on the front lot. My family went out to inspect the coach, it was not clean with greasing hand print all over( took pics) My wife looked in the coach and ceiling panels that were ordered BEFORE the last order were not installed. We walk back into the store and asked for Matt the service manage but he went on a personal erran to to get his personal vehicle. We asked Brittney to call him and she did(nice lady). We explain that this was unacceptable and that something must be done. He replied that we should take it and bring it back. WE live 46 miles away in Crosby Tx. I told him no, you have the parts you need to put them on. He replied that it may not be tommorro and kept stating "what if" they can not finish it tommorro instead of assurring me the work would be done. At this time it is 7pm and I need to get my family home and told him it needs to be resolved by tommorro or I will take further action. On our way out I wa ask to hook my couch to my truch and move it back into the gates because their was no one to do it. I have picture and video of me doing this. My question is why was it not a tech on hand to walk us though the work that was performed before letting everyone go home. Final word, Matt was aware of this the entire week. If someone would please call us tommorro it would be appreciated. clyde [protected] and cynthia [protected]

I have tried to load pics and vid but some will not load I can send the when you contact me. the pic here are just of the exterior conditon when they tried to get me to take it today.

Camping World supplied me with the absolute worst customer service experience of my life. I am sure that Camping World will never lose the number one spot of “worst customer experience of my life”. A half a day warranty repair ended up taking six months and was only completed then because I got the local media involved. Dozens of unreturned calls, empty promises and flat out lies, lies, lies.

If I was in need of toilet paper, I would drive hundreds of miles and pass by dozens of Camping World locations before spending one more penny with this terrible organization.

Yes, it was really that bad.

Camping World service department

I bought a used camper 2012 Keystone Outback, from a friend of the family who had bought it from Camping World when it was new.
I called and made an appointment to have it inspected and serviced. When I got there on March 8, 2018 for my appointment the service advisor and I went over EVERYTHING I was looking at have done. (45 pt inspection, slide service (3), pricing to remove carpet and replace with hardwood, fix the bathroom floor, fix the 2 disconnected lines under the kitchen sink, slide toppers, wash the outside, see what came up on the inspection that needed fixed, etc). He said it would take them a couple of days to do the inspection.
After 2 weeks I still didn't have any idea because they had not even looked at my camper yet nor had they even called me to give me an update.
After 2 Months I went in and spoke to the General Manager Wes, and he called in the Service Manager Danny. I was told they would get to it and get back with me the next day May 9, 2018.
We went over everything they found in the inspection and the things I wanted done but they still did not have the answers on a couple items I had pointed out on the bathroom floor and the disconnected lines under the kitchen sink. I was promised they would make my unit a priority because I needed my camper by the end of May.
The service advisor, the service tech, and myself went over what he would need to do to remove the lanolium and toilet to check the bathroom floor and the items to be fixed, but I still did not have prices on the 3 slide toppers. (When I went in the beginning of March I had a coupon for free installation of the toppers and the service advisor supervisor Ed-I think is his name, said they would still honor the coupon even though it would be expiring the end of March. They keep the coupon with my paperwork but now they have lost it. )
Needless to say they have only completed a couple of items, the service advisor I was working with is no longer at the Woodstock location, and now they can't honor the coupon for the toppers because they don't have the SKU #.
The service advisor called and gave me prices $3, 690.64, so I went in and the service andvisor, and the Tech, and I went over things again. There were still items that needed to be ordered like the slide toppers (plus purchasing the toppers, the washer/dryer combo unit, the 2 Honda generators).
The bathroom floor has not been completed, the replacing of the outside kitchen faucet, completing the install of the washer/dryer combo, etc and now they are saying they have a bill of $6, 109.07 holding. I went in on Monday of this week (which is past the time I was told they would have my unit ready) and tried to go over things with the new service advisor Scot E and he ask me to come back on Tue around 9:15 so he could find out more information since it was past closing time.
I went back Tues morning but it turned into a BIG ordeal and I was there for several hours and finally a different manager, Matt Brown, came out and said the toppers had not been ordered and they could not honor a coupon they did not have, and I was holding up the service Advisor. And he said if I made a complaint it would not change anything because the complaint would come to him and he couldn't and would not do anything to work with me on the toppers and installation! The General Manager, Wes, is out of the office for another week and a half.
So my camper is still not completed, Not even close on the original items agreeded on, and now they are giving me a price of almost $16, 000.00 without the slide toppers.

Camping World used unit warranty is a farce

I bought a 32' Fifth wheel at the end of the season. When I went to use it after the winter season I have numerous things that don't work. Toilet does not hold water, microwave has a dead short and flips the breaker as soon as you it a button, oven won't light, water heater switch is stuck in the off position, one slide comes out as you drive. Their solution, "Leave it and we will give you an estimate to fix it." The line that the salesman gives you that they go thru it and everything is guaranteed to work is a lie. The GM never answers emails and never calls back. All you get is a condescending service writer. I will never buy any thing from them again and will do my best to let others know so they don't fall into the same trap.

Camping World service department, employees

We currently are stationed In Florida as my husband is in military now. My father is a disabled veteran and lives in North Carolina and goes to the VA hospital there. He is suffering from congestive heart failure and lung cancer and is frequently in the hospital. I brought my camper up from Florida to keep it at a camp ground that was close to the hospital so it would be easier to come and go seeing my father. We put our camper in on April 9th for warranty maintenance and we are sitting in the parking lot in June 15th and our camper still isn't finished. My husband has called over and over and was told 1 more thing needed to be done was waiting on shipment. We drove up on June 9th thinking to pick it up by Monday and we are still waiting. We were told over and over again things were done and they have not been. We have called and called and people would not return our phone calls. We have been lied to over and over again and they never put notes in their system to update any information my husband has every single phone call listed on his cell phone that he's made from where he's called over and over and over again and were told yesterday one thing was finished and we came in this morning we found out nothing was done except for one thing and we even let them know ahead of time that we would be here at 9:30 AM it is now 11 AM And no one is even working on our camper

I think I need to contact the Better Business Bureau myself. They ripped us off for $2000.00. When doing up the payments on the trailer did they not let us know what all the cost were included in the payment until the end. By then some how the shop got told we want the proctectionspray on the trailer with out us even knowing what the cost was. Made them take everything else off. We had to wait 6 hour and the trailer had not even been detailed even though they knew we were coming 150 miles to see the trailer. Then they tired saying they did detail the trailer and they had not. They had left some very private information of the previous owner. We did call them to let them know what we had and what to do with it. Plus on top if it the trailer needed a new ac-heater controller panel and was suppose to have it sent to us. Well got a email today telling us they order the wrong one and need a picture of it so they can order the correct one. Never ever will i tell anyone to go to them and I will never go back. I do believe I need to contact the BBB myself! PEOPLE STAY AWAY . We went to the one in Idaho Falls ID.

My parents are currently in the same boat as you are in. I’m furious with how they have been treated. They have been lied to, ignored and have given them the run around since April. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau about this and will not stop there.

Camping World sales

Saw a used motorhome on a Saturday, called on following Monday and put $1000.00 down on credit card. Told salesman it would take at least a week to transfer funds. He said no problem. I kept in contact again that week to update him and he was no longer there so I was transferred to another salesman and explained everything to him. The money was transferred but put on hold by my bank so I again called and explained to the salesman that I would be able to pick up the vehicle on the following Saturday to which he said was fine.
Later he called my house and left a message saying that the motorhome had been sold over the weekend!
What is the use of putting a down payment on a vehicle just to have it sold out from under you! What they didn't know is that my wife cashed in her 401k retirement and took a substantial hit on our taxes to get the money!
They did refund my down payment as they said they would, which is the smartest thing that did in this whole transaction!

Camping World employees at the greenwood, in location

We purchased a Jayco Jay Flight SLX from the greenwood Indiana location on 6/5/18. The online sales price for this camper was $16, 990. When my husband brought home the signed paperwork it states he camper was $21, 385.00. As you can imagine we called and texted the salesman, Sam, to see what happened. Now we are being told that difference was freight, prep and a hitch. This was never discussed and this is not acceptable. It took them days to even respond. I would like a response back as to how this is possible and if this is the general acceptable practice for your locations. Jeff and Stacy Kingsbury

Camping World 2018 pioneer rl250

Purchased camper new on March 30, 2018 from the Camping World in Monticello, MN. During the walk through, items were identified that required warranty work. They promised the warranty work would be done in a 2 week period. Returned to Camping World after two weeks expecting our camper to be repaired, only to find out it had not had any work done. This was very disappointing, since we never received any correspondence from the service department in the two weeks prior. Also, we had to drive 127 miles one way, since this is the closest Camping World to where we live. During the next two weeks I had to call every other day to ensure our camper was being repaired. Finally we were notified that the repairs were complete and we went to Camping World to pick up our camper on April 30, 2018.

On Memorial weekend we took or camper out for the first time. When we left the campgrounds on Sunday May 27, 2018 the canopy wouldn't return fully and blew 2 15 amp fuse before finally getting it to retract enough to travel. On Memorial day May 28, 2018 we took the camper back to Camping World to have it looked at and repaired. The service rep. created a work order with a promise date of June 6, 2018. Since my first experience went to so well I decided to emailed the service rep. on June 4, 2018 to find out what the status was on the repairs. It is June 8, 2018 and I haven't received an email or phone call. I also called and left a message for the service rep on June 6, 2018. Again, no reply back!

My wife and I are at a point where we just want to return the camper and give our business to someone else. They didn't treat us like this before the sale. Why would they treat us like this now! Very disappointed and frustrated with the Team at Camping World in Monticello, MN.

Camping World customer service

We purchased an extended warranty and because the warranty wouldn't cover a problem on our 2018 jay com jay flight we canceled the warranty on 5/8/2018. We called
Good Sam and they said we would have to get ahold of camping world to get the money back. I have called camping world three times and have not received a call back to see where the refund money is. It has not been sent to my bank as was told to us by good Sam. I would have never purchased a brand new rv from camping world had i known their customer service was so bad. I just would like a call to see where my warranty money is.

Camping World reckless lot driver

Decided to write and let you know my recent experience with CW in Grand Rapids MI. Brought my 5th wheel in for a slider adjust in late April.

Decided to order an awning rafter in the store and have it installed at the same time. CW said 2-3 days for that to arrive, would be about 5 days before I could pick up my camper. After hearing nothing I call back after 10 days, service dept says they are done with their end of it (slider adjust) and haven't heard a thing from the store about the rafter support. I call back to talk to the store, no one answers the phone when transferred.

I keep calling in as instructed by the receptionist, she says someone will answer eventually. On about the 6th or 7th call I ask for a manager (getting irritated now) She puts me on hold, then says she'll take my info and have them call me back. They Never do. The next day I call early, after some searching on CW's part they realize my part came in without hardware over a week prior and now will have to have the hardware shipped overnight from the factory because I'm about to call the whole thing off and pick up my camper for a pre season trip.

I pick it after 13 days... ridiculous that no one did anything when item came in without hardware until I called. So I'm happy to have it done with 2-3 days to get it ready to use it. That is until I get it home and see the damage inside. Apparently the tractor lot driver has no respect for someone else's property and whips these units around so recklessly that my cupboards opened, some dishes fell out and broke, gouging my countertop as it smashed on it.

Fishing poles flew off the top from behind a 2" lip above the cabinets, chairs and table slid across the camper out of their rubber pads (a 1st). This would NEVER happen with normal driving, never has in all the miles I driven at speeds up to 75 mph. Now that I'm home I've decided it was time to share this and write a few reviews. I've replaced one small casserole dish at a cost of $30, the counter top was pristine and now isn't thanks to the recklessness of your lot driver.

My chairs will have to be glued down to the rubber pads again. And I'm not so sure my slider adjust was done correctly since I'm now seeing marks appear on the flooring inside.

Not happy that CW would allow a lot driver to joy ride while towing someone else expensive property around. Total disrespect for the customer's property!

UPDATE
Brought the camper back to Camping World in Grand Rapids on June 7 so they could redo the slider adjust. The service manager Doug worked on it until it was working much better. Doesn't appear to be dragging on the floor inside anymore. They also gave me 2 thin strips of plastic to set under the edge where it was dragging when moving the slider in, this will buffer the floor enough to keep it from damaging the floor again. Was pleasantly surprised they were able to get most of the marks off the floor with mineral spirits (I had tried other cleaners without success). I was also reimbursed for the dishes that broke. Time spent there was 2 hours with about 50 minute drive each way. They did what they could to fix the issues so I'm bumping this review up to a 3 star for their efforts.

Camping World product and service

I have never had to deal with a service dept. As horrible as Camping World of Robertsdale Alabama. Had my camper for almost 9 months for repair of storm damage. Never could get a straight answer from anyone and 2 call backs this whole time. After robbing my insurance company for over $13, 000 you would think it would have been brand new again. Its way far from that. And its only a 2015 model. It had sit there so long that my tire cover had dry rotted. Never will I take anything back there to be repaired nor will I ever buy anything from that store!

Camping World my new camper I purchased

Bought a new camper on March 28, 2018 and returned it on April 17 with torn canvas, broke door, bubbled roof. The camper is still there and not fixed. They want to patch the canvas and I don't want it patched due to its brand new. If I wanted a use camper I would have bought one but I wanted new. I have called to see what is taking so long and to make sure my camper would be ready by this holiday weekend and of course they have patched the canvas, but have not fixed anything else. There is no way it should be taking this long to fix the issues. I have even asked for a loaner camper until they get mine fixed and of course they don't offer it. It's not my fault they sold me a bad camper however they should stand good on fixing it and doing the repairs in a timely manner. It just makes no sense to have to pay for a camper I can't even use. Holiday weekend is here and I can't even use my camper. Someone please help.

Camping World customer service from start of purchase through the end

To say I'm upset is an understatement, I will never ever walk back through the doors of any camping world location ago, but especially not the Council Bluffs Iowa location.

We began the process of purchasing a 32' crossroads zinger camper @ the annual camping sport & RV show in Approximately February of 2018, we purchased the camper under a show special price, and also added in the heavy duty hitch etc which was an extra $500 added into the financed price.

Upon delivery or should i say attempted delivery, the driver delivering our brand new camper proceeded to wreck it into some trees causing an entire panel to be damaged, we made him take it back and we had to fight with them to get them to replace the panels etc, it took them 6 weeks to do this simple process, because nobody could get their facts straight and get things ordered to make the repairs.
After they finish it we had to then deal with the fact that they refused to attempt to deliver it again.

When we took out truck in to have them install the special hitch we paid for at the initial purchase, they tried to pass of a $50 stabilizer bar as the $500 hitch we purchased! We had to Argue and argue with them and make them pull up the original documents to prove we paid for it! They finally got it installed and we brought it home 2 weeks ago.

Upon entering the camper we find that they never detailed it like they were supposed to do, our corn hole game we were promised with the purchase we still have never gotten, there is grease stains on the carpeting in the $25, 000 brand new camper! Wands for the mini blinds are missing. We ask about them they told us we are making that up!

I'm through with this company and will be filing with the BBB and possibly seeking legal action.

Camping World pricing on shelf not reflecting same price at the register

I went to Camping World today, I live an hour away, I purchased the products I needed
and after leaving realized I had forgotten another Item I needed to purchase. I returned and located the item I needed, the price was listed on the shelf, however when it rang up it was a few dollars higher, I ask the clerk to check the shelf price, she went to the shelf took the price down and threw it in the trash. She stated that price had expired. My husband stated they should sell it for the price marked which was about $3.00 less. She proceeded to check me out at full price. I cancelled the charge and left the store. Before leaving I ask the receptionist for the managers info. I did call and leave a message, yet have not heard back from him. I am not sure if it is legal to have a price tag on the shelf then charge me a different price. I am not sure I will give you anymore of my business.

Camping World customer service

Saturday May 11th I went to the Tyler store to grab a few things. As I approached the register area I witnessed a cashier( I'm assuming ) being very rude to one of her co workers. The other emolyee ( taller, brown hair) seemed confused/ upset about the way she was being spoken to. I was not close enough to hear all of the conversation but what I did hear and see...I am not okay with. The one I'm assuming who is a cashier because she stayed behind the register counter proceeded to stay and talk to the receptionist as the taller girl walked to the back of the store. While standing there watching this unfold I realized that if she is going to treat a co-worker like that in the middle of the store then how would she treat me or any other customer. So I put my things back on the shelves and left. I do not plan to return.

Camping World rpod 180 and service dept customer service

Dear mam or sir,
My husband and i, newlyweds, purchased an rpod 180 last august 2017. It was a brand new 2018 model because we had researched for over a year and found that not only was this the best model to suit our needs but also wanted was worth scraping and saving to buy something new as we didn't want to inherit any possible issues from previous owners. We purchased our pod from camping world in chattanooga tn which was also a disappointing experience overall and have issues ever since.
We have been out camping a total of only 4 times (and none yet this year) due to an array of issues that have seemed to plague us and our pod. First we had issues with leaking in the roof around the vent. - took it in it was repaired. Then the awning had a black plastic piece fly out of it - took it in and service said the piece "wasn't necessary" in the function of the awning. :- (. Also the sewage pipe storage bin underneath where the caps are to close each end broke off from the plastic and had to be replaced. Another trip to service.
Winterized the unit and called it a season.
So far this year the awning broke again and another trip to service indicates the whole thing had to be replaced - 6 weeks to have it approved, ordered, shipped from forest river - unacceptable to wait that long for something under warranty even after contacting customer service to express our concerns. Then we got it back and the dvd player is not working - another trip to service ugh at this point to find out that another unit has to be ordered - and then during the checking of it our sewage storage pipe unit "fell" off in the camping world parking lot and we were told that it was under warranty so no big deal - another trip to service. So now we again are waiting for parts to be approved and ordered to make yet another trip down to service. Very disappointed in the experience so far and can't believe these things are occurring - what was the point in purchasing a brand new model if it appears as though it is used and has issues beyond our control! Haven't had any remedy from camping world or your customer service and really don't know where else to turn. We only have a year warranty which seems ridiculous for these units given all the problems they seem to have, and don't know what to do after august 2018. We haven't been able to camp yet this year! Hoping for some type of remedy.
