We agreed to attend a timeshare presentation based on the promotion for a paid overnight stay at the Grand Timber Lodge (75 Snowflake Drive, Breckenridge, CO 80424). The timeshare presentation lasted several hours. During the presentation they stated the following: (1) Use of the timeshare is easy due to flexible dates and the option to upgrade to a different suite (2) There are great timeshare locations in other countries that can be reserved based on the exchange program with Interval International (3) Timeshares are an investment opportunity Since purchasing the timeshare on November 4, 2012, we have not been able to take a vacation using our timeshare. The reservation process is cumbersome, with a limited booking/reservation window. You are limited to the same unit type purchased and only certain weeks of the year. Also, your vacation week cannot be divided into less time, e.g., a few vacation days vs. 1 week. Trying to use the Interval International program for a timeshare exchange with another property in a different country was even more difficult. We often had limited options with lower-rated timeshares. Contrary to what the sales associate indicated, there is no benefit to owning the timeshare. Since purchasing the timeshare in 2012, we have yet to be able to make a single vacation reservation. However, we continue to pay for a product that is not convenient to use. Despite paying the loan off, which had a high interest rate of 16.55%, we continue to see the HOA dues increase every year. In 2013 the HOA dues were $486 and now in 2023 they are $872.

Desired outcome: Timeshare cancelation
