We recently attended what was described as an “owner update meeting,” expecting the usual helpful information we’ve received for years. Instead, we experienced the most aggressive and disrespectful sales encounter we’ve ever had with Breckenridge Grand Vacations.
The meeting began normally, with a few useful tips about booking vacation time. Once that brief portion ended, the tone shifted dramatically. The salesman launched into an extremely hard sell pitch, disputing nearly everything we said, interrupting us, and openly mocking our choices. When we mentioned that we sometimes vacation on military bases around the world, he ridiculed those accommodations and dismissed them as “not real vacations.” My husband is an Air Force officer veteran, and hearing a representative speak that way about military facilities and those who use them was shocking and offensive.
As the pressure escalated, the salesman became combative and belittling. At one point, I told him directly that he was bullying us and walked out of his office. He then told my husband that other people had complained about similar treatment and that this was the reason cameras were installed in the offices. We are trying to determine whether recording without consent is even allowed.
We have been owners for years and have never been treated like this. If this is the result of new management or a push to sell the new Imperial units, it’s deeply disappointing. We left feeling angry, humiliated, and disheartened — and with a very negative impression of Breckenridge Grand Vacations and Grand Lodge. No owner should be subjected to this kind of treatment. Even if we wanted to buy or upgrade our unit, we would NOT do business with these guys.
At the end of the day, I genuinely feel sorry for any salesperson who is trained or encouraged to treat people this way. I can’t imagine having a job where bullying and disrespect are part of the process.
Recommendation: DO NOT SCHEDULE A 'OWNERS UPDATE MEETING' or BUY
