Boone Hospital Center – There is something wrong at Boone Hospital.

There is something wrong at Boone Hospital. Low morale, lack of coordination, little customer service, little empathy. And these negatives are personified in their Dr. Nicholas Madaffer. Impatient, defensive, neglectful, without empathy. I am a 76 year old Disabled Vietnam Veteran with increasing back pain. At the outset of my long awaited appointment for back pain, Madaffer declared “this will be a very short meeting”. He was visibly annoyed that an MRI that he had ordered was not available for him to look at. He appeared agitated at the outset, had no patience for any update on my increasing back pain symptoms, and stood up to leave in mid-meeting. Wouldn’t explain what he or his nurse might be doing to get the MRI. Couldn’t explain what would happen next. Wouldn’t agree to meet later. Wouldn’t agree to even call later. Couldn’t explain what would happen next. Fumbled with words like “electronic transfer” and “patient portal”. Suggested I get the MRI results myself and hand carry it in. Dr. Madaffer of the Boone Pain Clinic had no empathy for my back pain nor any urgency to form a care plan for it. He was simply annoyed and defensive about a missing MRI that HE HAD ORDERED. (I didn’t order it and I had no idea how it was expected to reach him). After the MRI results finally arrived two hours after my appointment ended, Dr. Madaffer has neglected to provide me any update or care plan in the 10 days since. This is neglectful medical practice. (I left 3 voice messages with clinic staff and spoke twice with a very nice “Ellen” at the front desk, but they have never relayed ANY information to me from Dr. Madaffer). Zero communication from him about anything in 10 days. Plainly neglectful on his part. Do NOT use this disorganized Boone Pain Clinic or Dr. Nicholas Madaffer for any medical care.
