I would like to make a formal complaint regarding my wedding/honeymoon which was booked with Barrhead travel in April 2018 with a travel date of September 2019 to the Bahamas .From start to finish I was disappointed with the service I received. As any bride to be it's an exciting and nervous time when booking.When I booked my wedding I was assured by the wedding coordinator (kirsty Louise ) that they would deal with everything from sending my documents to providing me with information regarding wedding services available at the resort .she also advised me at the time to fly to Heathrow the night before and stay overnight so we wouldn't miss our early flight (11:10 am) the next morning.She said "it would cost next to nothing, she couldn't this as it was too far in advance for flights we left the shop overjoyed and excited that we had booked our wedding and the resort looked perfect.I went to Australia in October 2018 and as I hadn't heard anything from Barrhead travel I popped down to see if my overnight in Heathrow and flights had been booked.kirst Louise wasn't in so another assistant dealt with my enquiry.She confirmed that neither flights or accommodations had been booked .she advised that she could do it there and then but I would have to pay it there and the to which I agreed, however she quoted me£720 (hardly next to nothing)I was shocked at this price and refused to pay and quoted what Kirsty Louise had said .This was a expensive cost that I hadn't factored into my wedding as I expected the cost to be low as previously advised .The assistant was trying hard to give me alternative travel arrangements such as bus, train at this point i was extremely upset I nearly cancelled the wedding that day due to the misinformation I was provided by Kristy Louise's.Kirst Louise phoned me a few day later (the only phone call I ever received in a year n half )and told me it would cost £370 which I still thought was a bit more than next to nothing and considering it was 10 months in advance but agreed to book this .this is all the only communication we had from the wedding coordinator.No one contacted me about my documents (I took them down myself )I wasn't given any information regarding wedding facilities, I had to ask for them.The communication between myself and the wedding coordinator was non existent.I went into Barrhead travel in August 2019 to find out Kirsty Louise had left.I spoke to Ruth Saunders to find out what hotel we were booked into in Heathrow as no details were on the Itinerary to be told it's one of the airport hotels .As our wedding day was getting closer as any anxious bride I went back into the shop to enquire about booking hair, make up, photographer etc at sandals the assistant told me I do this when I arrive, to which I was shocked however I felt upset and let down again no one helping me with questions .I went onto sandals live chat to find out I should have had a wedding coordinator from sandals to which they fixed me up with a phone call appointment.They told me that these appointments must be booked in advance to ensure availability.I am extremely shocked and upset that Barrhead travel wedding coordinator would provide inaccurate information regarding such important aspects of a wedding.Im grateful that I went with my gut instinct and contacted sandals myself .I saw on the news that ba were going on strike the day I was flying to Heathrow, I hadn't heard anything from Barrhead travel so went down they hadn't heard anything yet so I was advised to wait until they had heard from ba .While I was in the shop I asked again the name of the hotel I was staying in at Heathrow, when she pulled up my booking on the computer it wasn't on the itinerary and could I come back in tomorrow.again I left the shop feeling upset and confused .I went back to the shop the next day the assistant had txt Kirsty Louise to find out if she had booked accommodation, she said there was never any accommodation discussed .I was in shock it was Kirsty Louise who advised us to go down the day before and stay overnight .the assistant put it through as a staff error which is no consolation to us as it works out we paid £370 for two flights to Heathrow 10 months in advance!With the ba strike going ahead on the 27 th of September Barrhead travel offered me alternative travel arrangements which I felt started at the cheapest 1st one travel to Luton 2 days before flying to the Bahamas, 2nd get the train to London I chose the 3rd one flying to Belfast then Heathrow even then my luggage was lost for a few hours .I feel I received extremely poor customer service from the wedding coordinator.Apart from booking the wedding she made limited communication with myself and I had to continually follow her up .As it was only the two of us that went to get married we had no witnesses but were assured by Kirsty Louise sandals provide witnesses and that they get dressed up .Although it didn't ruin my wedding day the witness weren't dressed up they had their sandals uniform on, again misinformation.Getting married is a very stressful time, I put my wedding in Barrhead travels hands
