Barclays Bank Be careful

The Barclays card customer reps have given me nightmares for the last two months. I have failed to understand the whole reason of a customer care centre for Barclays card India.

The whole issue started when I saw a late payment fees being charged against my card even though I had dropped my cheque for the due amount well within the due date. I had a horrible time making the customer representative understand the situation. After a dozen number of calls, the only response I got was they have no authority to reverse my late payment fees. I would like to warn all Barclays card user to be utterly cautious of this "Barclays Card».

This is to inform u that i have one complain against ur bank...for last one month iam suffering for my ATM PIN...and i had already complain for the same but every guy of your's team give me only complain number nothing more ...ok This is not a good thing So, Plz provide me my ATM PIN ...

Hi,

This is Berin Magesh Raja, I am barclays credit card holder.
My card no is : [protected].
I have been dropped one TMB (Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank) cheque in Crosscut road, TR Collection, Coimbatore.
Cheque amount is 9500 rs .
Afterthat i got call from your customer care officer ( Saravanan from madras ), they told that your amount not credited .
Then finally they sent a person and recieved the amount 9500/- from me.
I got totally upset, when i saw thay May 09 statement, mentioned 650/- for late payment.
i alredy paid 9500 rs, then why ihave to pay the late payment.
Then, i tried to reach chennnai customer care person Mr saravan, but not able to catch him .
Please consider this problem, my request you to reconside and revert back .
I want to know my tamilnadu Mercantile bank cheque details
Otherwise i won't pay any single paise . Please try to undersyand the problem.
I am expecting Coming month, I believe it will be favour for me .

i have barclay card since oct, 2007.but i have not used this card for any other purpose till upto date.but customer care person inform me that 7808=00 amount should be paid by you as soon as (for BARCLAY PRIORITY CIRCLE MEMBERSHIP) otherwise penalty will be consider.but when i did not accept any othert membership and customer care person did not inform me that above membership will be chargeable and i can cancel above membership within 21 days from amount debt from my card .this is totally fraud case. i did not accept any other membership .then how can i pay 7808=00.but they are saying that they have telephonic voice recored document for this bill.a lot of e-mail have sent by me .but barclay customer care person did not reply me regarding my e-mail.please help me regarding this matter.ANOOP KUMAR SAHU [protected], INDIA

Barclays India have cheated me for the priority circle membership. A phonecall attended resulted as an confirmation for these people that they have made me a member and charged me with their fees of 6000/- + taxes amounting to 6641.26/- without my consent and I am not even aware of what exactly the membership is all about. I have complained on the very day when I received an sms that my bill has been generated for the same. I complained 4 times with the customer care dept, 4 times with the priority circle dept, 8 mails to their service email - id and 3 times with the recovery dept. Instead Barclays people are busy messaging me for dire consequences in terms of future credit cards and loans. They are busy charging me late payment fees and charges for the same today amounting to 7800/-
Barclays are cheaters and hardly of any responsible directives in India.
Poor mode of payment facilities, worst customer relation, lack of reliability, harassing ideology, confused policies, illegal practices, ill-treatments, etc... has been the functionings of Barclays.
I term them as local money lenders organisation with no ethics and unauthorised market sick mentality.
I totally agree with all who are facing ill-treatment for Barclays

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH U ALL. BARCLAYS INDIA HAS STARTED MAL PRACTICE IN FULL SPPEED. I AM GOLD CARD HOLDER OF THE BANK. WITHOUT MY CONFIRMATION BANK HAS CHARGED ME RS 5000 FOR TRAVEL PLAN PRIORITY CIRCLE FEES + GOVT SERVICE TAX !.

NO RESPONSE FOR EMAILS. WHEN I CALLED UP I WAS ON HOLD FOR MANY MINUTES ON STD CALL ( RS 100 GONE ), THEN SHE NOTED JUST A COMPLAIN BUT NO RESULT !
AFTER 2 WEEKS THEY STARTED TO CALL ME TWICE FOR THE PAYMENT. WHY SHOULD I PAY ? I HAVE NOT AVAILED ANY FACILITY. THIS IS A BIG CHEATING PROGRAMME GOING ON IN INDIA NOW BY BARLCAYS BANK.

THE BASIC FUNDA OF BARCLAYS BANK IN INDIA OR IN WORLD IS CHEATING ? NO ETHICS ? NO CUSTOMER RALATIONS ? I HATE SUCH BANK & PEOPLE BEHIND THE BANK ! UGLY GUYS !
I WILL COMPLAIN TO RESERVE BANK OF INDIA, CONSUMER COURT ALSO. NOT PAYING ANYTHING BUT WILL ASK FOR COMPENSATION FOR WASTAGE OF MY TIME.

M a credit card holder of Barclay, actually I ve recd a statement, in which 1025/- debited to my a/c, actually i have not used that amount, regarding this i have spoken many times with exicutive of customer care . eventhough i ve recd next month statement saying to pay 1650/- & also m getting daily msg to pay the due amount. I am sick and tired of getting messages from Barclays. If anything can be done about this, i would be really happy. pls contact me on this # [protected]

Barclays Bank Scam and cheating!

I have a Barclays credit card. I always pay my amount due right after the statement close date. I received the card in March of 07 and I called the company to ask when the close date was and they said the 27th of each month. I set up an automatic payment on the 29th of each month. Two days ago I received a call from a collection agency stating that my account has been deliquent since Jan 08. I proved to them that I have made a payment every month. To my shock they said they decided in Jan 08 to change the close date to the 2nd of the following month without informing the customers. That meant that I paid two payments in Jan, thus not paying one in Feb. They sent me to a collection agency because my payments now were considered a month behind and they charged me late fees of $29 for Feb, March, and April even though they received a payment every month on the 29th!... AND since I had a special interest rate of 2.99% (as long as payments are on time) they have been charging me 21.99% for Feb, March and April. They refuse to take the late fees off or fix the finance charges. I am seeking a lawyer and I suggest that you do not use Barclays for anything unless you feel like getting charged for breathing or tricked into this!

Dear sir,

Barclays card bank issued me the platinum cr. Card no. [protected] on 12/09 with wrong promises of credit limits & free insurance coverage.

But next month onwards they started to send me the bill with insurance fees of Rs 1000/-. In between past 5 months I was not in the city. When I returned I found bill amt of more than Rs 4000/- which increases every month. Till date I have not used this card.

When I complaint about the same at customer care department of Barclaycard, they asked me to pay the complete amount as it can not be reversed.

Though, from last 2 months I do not receive the Hard copy of the Credit card statement, but still messages for balance amount due against my Credit Card sent on my mobile phone No. +91-[protected].

So please help me on grievance settlement in this regard.

Barclays Bank Late fee!

I paid my credit card on the day it was due as written in the statement. The statement I received says absolutely nothing about the payment must be received before 7pm that day. I was charged a $29 late fee and called twice about it being removed. They were rude and refused. I would like proof also that I paid it at 7:04 as they claim. As I recall I paid it at 6:30. Absolutely unbelievable!

I agree with the complaints about late fees from barclay cards. I mailed in a payment two months ago; the next month the statement fromt them charged interest and a late fee for that payment. I called Cust Serv and was told the payment was five days late. I said I would pay the interest but the late fee was unjustifiable. I have an excellent credit rating (high) and have always paid the monthly balances on all my credit cards in full each month. The rep said she couldn't do anything but directed me to write "corporate" a letter. I did that, and just received a letter stating that they reviewed my account and will not rescind the late fee.

I have cut up their card and will never do any type business with them again. They seem to charge excess fees and post payments according to their "timetable", not actual dates of payments received.

Barclay card service is very bad. I paid the bill on due date and inspite of that they have charged me interest on the amount. And their customer service is still worst. After trying by luck if they receive the call they will not be in a position to resolve the issue. I have made up my mind not to use Barclay credit card any more.

Sub: This is complaint against your Franchaise Rimmsion Commercial Services, Nehru Place Delhi

On 26 Apr 08, I have applied for a Barclay Times card in delhi through Mr. Harish/Vinod([protected]/[protected], When collecting the documents the executive promised me that card will reach in a couple or three weeks. Next day itself I got a verification call from one of their executives regarding my billing cycle, billing address & add-on cards. I did provide all the details to them,

After few days I have called to Mr.Harish about the status of my application. He says don’t worry sir your application is approved and your approved sms with me and ref no is [protected].

After that I have checkd with the call center at 25 times with my complet details, but they have no record and no updates on application, . they says again and again kindly check after few days or check with where from you applied for these card. I am very disappointed. Then again I had called to Mr Harish, but again he says kindly check after 21 days …it will take 21 days. He was change own wording. They making me fool I cant understand, whats going on..

I dont know Barclay Card provide these bad service to our clients. Kindly suggest me about my application status

I have already forwarded these complaint to [protected]@barclaycard.in and vinod.[protected]@gmail.com, , but till 10 May no response recived.

I have applied for a Barclays Credit in Chennai. When collecting the documents the executive promised me that card will reach in a couple or three weeks. Next day itself I got a verification call from one of their executives regarding my billing cycle, billing address & add-on cards. I did provide all the details to them, but after that call which was a month ago I didn't get any other communication from them.

sir,

i yor costumer and facing the following problem with your department,
1.some time back there one purchase of rs.11000/approx.and out of which rs. 2500/paid to you by cash,

2. afer this transction some petrol filling tranction are there only.

3.and by such tranctions only even after countinously paying your minimum amunt bill every month,

4. and since then you are countinously charging some penalties +interest+st ect. and increasing your bill amount upto the maximum extent which is not bearable,

5.and due to your such system my small amunt bill of
rs 11000/ has amounted upto rs.1645o/approx in oct.

6. and for making your oct. bill payment i deposited my cheque rs10000/on 21 oct.and for this i have also snt my mail and as well as i informed over tel .to costomer care for the updation
and due to the devali festival you bank was closed
even then for this you have charged the penalties +interest+st.
and incresing the bill upto the maximum,
and making the costomer, unable to make your
your dept. was closed your and for this your are charging from me,
and making the costomer unable to make his payment

7.i dont know what system you are following, i am not agree by this, your bill comes late then why should pay penalties for this

8.you have incresed my credit limit from rs. 15000/without my permission, and for incresing my limit your are charging your credit charged +penalties +interest +st.
and for incresing the credit limitat least you shuld have asked

9 and by this i have faced and observed that, you are finding the way for incresing your bill amount only that it,
and that could be by incresing the credit limit, by charging the penalties ect.and no thiong else

10.and i have relasied that from all sides you are snatching money from the costomer,

11.and not even from the single point you are cooperating the cotomer, which is not fare by any engle,

12.and regarding this i already lodged my complait with your cutomer care, and so far no action has been taken from your side

13.even after i want to settle your geneune outstanding bill,
and i request you kindy cooperate with my in this regard for the such settlement, please,

i fully hopefull that you will understand my problem and acoording offer me the some appropriate amount figure for the payment which i could arranged for you please,

Thats good work done by Mr. Sharma.Because these people will never get the lesson if we people will not raise the voice.The same incident had already happened with my wife. She had already applied for the card and no response after collecting ll the documents, they simply say no information...thats ridiculous!

Barclays Bank Repeated calls

I received a call at 12:13 pm from a person called "Priya" who represented that she was calling from Barclays Bank regarding a credit card offer. I politely informed her that i would not be interested, asked her not to call me again and cut the call. Surprisingly, i received a call from the same number again at 12:16 pm asking me if i was interested in Barclays Bank credit card. The person speaking was "Priya" again. When i informed her that she had called me a while back and that she should not be calling me again, she aske dme my name and hung the call without even apologizing.

Thereafter, i called the number back (+[protected]) and spoke to her. She was not even apologetic then. I asked her to transfer the call to her senior. I was transferred to a lady called "Kala". I asked her the details of the company she was calling from and i told her that i propose to file a complaint. She informed that she had joined only a few days back and dint know the company she was working for! She was quite rude and cut the call without even hearing me out.

Thereafter, i called 3-4 times and they kept cutting my call and after 2-3 calls they kept the phone off the receiver and i kept getting the busy message. I called after 10 mins and spoke to another lady and explained what happened. She informed me that they were calling on behalf of Barclays Bank and that the agent they worked for was "Shraya Enterprises".

I would like to lodge a complaint against Barclays Bank and the agent for having called me more than once in a span of 3 mins and being extremely rude. Also, the ladies who called me dint even know good English and requested me to speak in Kannada after having called me to speak about the credit card in English.

Some letters has been written times without number to address below BARCLAYS BANK PLC NOTTING HILL BRANCH 137 LADBROKE BRANCH LONDON W11 IPR, in reference of ADEKUNLE KAZIM
with ACCOUNT NO. [protected] of which i have not hear any reply and my last letter written to Barclays Bank dated 27TH APRIL, 2009 and enclosed like this:
I hereby as Sole Surviving Administrator of the Estate of the late Mr. Adekunle Kazim who until his death, he maintain and operated an account No. [protected] with your bank. I request the outstanding balance sum in the said account to be paid to me.

Enclosed herewith are all the documents to facilitate payment including the death certificates of late Adekunle Kazim (my father and said account holder) and my late mother Mrs Florence Omolara Kazim his late wife and deceased administratrix of his estate and a copy of the letter of Administration from the probate Registry of the Lagos State High Court, Nigeria.

All this was forwarded to your bank but no reply up till date . Kindly treat this matter with the urgency it deserves.

even i have been receiving these calls from Barclay ...they want some Ravi...f* despite telling them that i am not Ravi they always give me 3-4 calls daily and ask for the due payment...bloody hell...don't they have any sense ...can't they just check up with the mobile network operator if the present number is still valid or still in the name of the person they are looking for...or the number has been subscribed to someone else...if i am consistently telling you that i am not Ravi kumar why the hell are you calling me again and again...had i been ravi kumar and my payment was due i wud have changed my number ...just harrasing other people without prior confirming if the mob. number really belong to the particular person...if i get any further call i am planning to go in consumer cell...that's a better way to deal with these things...

hello barclay, dr ramesh parmar here. U people are so stupid. I don't have any barclay's creditcard and u people used to call me daily 4-5 times. So many times i have told u that i am not Mr Sandil Sinha. I dont know who is this bloody guy who gave my mob numb to u. I daily get 10-12 sms and 8-10 calls from your department saying that mr sandil sinha your credit card payment is 4 months due. Oh God! So many times i have explained to u that i m not mr sandil sinha and requested the caller not to call again me. Even i didn't know about Barclay before this phone calls. And yr custmor care numb is not working. I am tired by yr harassment now. Plz stop it.

still i have not recieved anyreversal & any reply from barclays credit card department after requesting them by mails & phone calls

harassment calls from barclays credit card payment customer service in india from mumbai i recorded the conversation also.i & my family are very much disturbed by this phone calls .

On droppping a my cheque in favour of Barclays Bank PLC, at gangadeshwaram koil street chennai drop box on 26-04-2008. After dropping the Cheque well before the due date bank is continuously sending the statement demanding the Late Fee, tax and Interest. After dropping the cheque how can customer come to know about the cheque? he can know only when his/her account has debited. I had talked to Barclays payment persons many times and customer care also but no body is willing to give some kind of help.

NO ATM CENTRE IN MY CITY
NO BARCLAY BANK IN MY CITY
TOLL FREE CUSTOMERCARE NUMBER IS NOT WORKING

harassment calls from barclays credit card payment customer service in india from mumbai i recorded the conversation also.i & my family are very much disturbed by this phone calls .

On droppping a my cheque in favour of Barclays Bank PLC, at gangadeshwaram koil street chennai drop box on 26-04-2008. After dropping the Cheque well before the due date bank is continuously sending the statement demanding the Late Fee, tax and Interest. After dropping the cheque how can customer come to know about the cheque? he can know only when his/her account has debited. I had talked to Barclays payment persons many times and customer care also but no body is willing to give some kind of help.

On droppping a Citibank cheque No. 215398 in favour of Barclays Bank PLC, at Bund Garden Road Pune drop box on 15th December 2007. After dropping the Cheque well before the due date bank is continuously sending the statement demanding the Late Fee and Interest. After dropping the cheque how can customer come to know about the cheque? he can know only when his/her account has debited. I had talked to Barclays persons many times (From Gurgaon) and customer care also (Sandeep and Meghna) but no body is willing to give some kind of help.

Why customer should pay the late fee when it is delay in collecting the cheque from Bank itself. You are requested to wave off my late fee and interest.

Barclays Bank Poor service!

I opened a Savings account on the 6th July 2007 and today on the 9 January 2008 I find out I am 252.25 in the red because I have made a total of 6 transactions and each transactions costs P100! I was shocked to find this out because i don't remember at any point the clerk that opened the account for me mention this! I had left a balance of P500 in the initial P1000 I had deposited during the crazy festive season! I was made to run up and down the bank from clerk to clerk only to be told at the end I had to pay the charge so no matter how much I complain I'm gonna have to couch up! Now I admit to all those transactions but to be told every time I take my MONEY i have to pay some over weight fat cat a P100 and not to be aware of this now that I have a definite problem with. What is wrong with the banking system in Botswana because I have had Savings Accounts before in another countries and never in my life was I to pay 100 bucks for a lousy withdrawal and with these previous Savings Accounts I had a Visa card and in Botswana they didn't even give me a card and I had to endure long queues each time!and for this I have to pay P600! Well I scoff at that and it's a pity I don't know of any consumer rights bodies to lodge my case with because what Barclays bank is doing is broad day light robbery!

Barclays Bank Barclays credit card dept = maddness

Hi All,
I had applied for Barclay's Credit Card bearing the reference number : [protected].

All the possible verification has being done from Barclay team, but to my surprise the application has being rejected...

Many of my employees working in my organization applied for this so called upcoming credit card company, and most of them got approved... And strangely all the people in the higher management who applied got their barclays card got rejected...

I have submitted copies of PAN card, Citi bank Credit Card statement, Bank statement, Salary Slip, Address proof, Photo ID..

P.S: I had provided all the documents required by Barclay Cards
dept.
I had submitted my Citi bank credit card statement which
has an excellent credit record.
I have never defaulted in any bank.
I have a good & clear credit rating and track record with all
the banks I deal with.

I had emailed Barclays team to know the status and got an answer from """""barclayca`[protected]@sparshindia.com"""""""""""""
If these are the guys who are verifying the customers then i am sorry to say but they suck... They don't know how to qualify a person and whom to reject...

I Have Req UR Coustmer Care Office 4 th sep from 24 sep his ans and suggest ur card active 48 hours but today i do the call than custmer care excutive that no any req recived of your card because i do the 16400/- pay the pmt . than my card is block

I think that barclay bank is very third class services so i req u to that plz Active My card

First, the criteria that is checked changes depending on what type of card you're applying for. There is a difference between a regular card and a buisness card.

Second, if you have too many cards with high credit lines then you may be using too much of your available credit to get another card. Just like cards count against loans, loans and other cards count against getting a new credit card.

As for a manager, I've never had problems getting a manager, as long as they had my account info up and I wasn't complaining about a fee, they got a manager for me, that is, unless they could solve the problem that I thought I needed a manager for themselves.

I have a theory: you're credit's too good.

From what I can see, Barclays is a sham - I can't find one nice thing said about them.

My experience is the following after being a member for 2 months:

Me: Hi, I never got my statement. Can you send it out?
Them: Sure, it'll be $3.
Me: But I never got either of them...
Them: Print them out.
Me: Err...?
Them: It costs us money to send it to you.
Me: But I never got them!
Them: You can view them online...
Me: Give me a manager?
Them: There's no reason for me to do that.

Surprisingly, when I called back and spoke to someone else, the story stayed the same. They don't care and they're not afraid to show it. Also, many news articles question their capacity at this point - I'm not too big into this stuff, so don't take my word for it, check it out.

Long and short, their my lowest interest card and I plan to cancel them. I'd rather pay more cash to a company who cares than perpetuate this style of "customer service."

Barclays Bank Harassing with sales calls!

I am getting 5-10 calls per day from so called DSA's of Barclays bank to sell their credit cards. Especially from one particular phone # 6454 8732 (Bangalore). Inspite of me telling them to remove my number from their calling list they HARASS me with their calls and unprofessional callers.

Barclays bank officials gave me a phone number to register in the Do Not Call list (phone # 6001 6001) this number is always engaged. Until and unless some serious rules are implemented by the TRAI and Supreme Court on this regard I am sure Barclays Bank and its DSA's will harass people with their sales calls.

yes barclays [protected] never works. i am trying from last 10 days not even single time i managed to get the line. Really RBI should tighten the nuts. These multinational banks are more intrested to make money. while in same time they are failing to fulfill minimum needs of the coustmers and min information.

Barclays Bank Harassing calls!

I have requested the people that i'm not interested & don't want to have any loan but still they call & disturb me in working hours which is very irritating. I have also told them to block my number from their database but no such kind of activity done.

Barclays Bank Unauthorized charges!

One of the largest credit card issuers in the US, this privately held subsidiary of a foreign bank seems to have a practice of late billing, slow processing, and unresponsive customer service that results in inappropriate assessment of late fees and interest on payments delivered to them on time but not processed in a timely fashion. Since they appear to profit hugely from this practice I have a hard time believing it is just ineptitude. They issue a number of specialty cards for a variety of airlines and retailers. Contacting their customer service is a waste of time. Cancel your card, and complain to the sponsoring airline or retailer, as their customer service departments might actually care. Complaints can also be filed with the FDIC using an easy online complaint form.

Barclays charged me a late fee 11 months ago which was their fault. After a few months of trying to get them to reverse the charges I canceled the card and opted out of their "new" fees and just making payments to the balance I owe. Four months later I get a statement saying I am now paying 30.24% interest on this account. I called them and told them they can't do this as I canceled the card and opted out of the new fees. They said since I had a late fee 11 months ago they can do this. I tried to write to the bank fraud in Delaware and they have not replied that was two weeks ago. I am paying off this balance and NEVER using Barclays again!

I have had a Barclays card (via one of my favorite airlines) for less than 6 months but I am canceling it due to their deceptive practices. They receive my payment well before the due date but hold onto it until just after the due date before depositing it thus netting them $39 in late fees. With just a few searches on the Internet I have found others who have similar complaints. Is there any way to go after this company with a class action suit? I have warned my airline to beware of this relationship.

I would NOT recommend to deal with Barclay's Bank, Delaware. Everything said above about late billing, slow processing and unsecured accounts is absolutely true.
Stay away from this bank. It just has a bad reputation.

I agree that there must be something terribly wrong with Barclays Bank, Delaware. It recently denied issuing me an LLBean Visa Card, citing that information contained in my TransUnion Credit Report suggests that I am not a permanent resident in the United States.

Barclays PLC (US branch Card Service) - please read the Credit Report carefully. I have a perfect credit history for over 17 years in US. I have never been late with any of my payments. How could I have this continuous credit history if I don't reside in this country as a permanent resident?

Barclays Delaware then requested me to send them a copy of my passport with photo, or my birth certifacte to show I was born in USk, etc. etc. Or else, they would not give my credit card application further consideration. This is BLATANT violation of Equal Credit Opportunity Act!

LL Bean is a great company and sells high quality product. It should never partner with Barclays Bank, Delaware.

Barclays Bank Poor service!

Juniper financial, owned by barclays bank (Delaware via uk) , informed me they can take from 3 to 10 days to note that a customer check has been received. And then they add an additional 24 hours to process that check. All the while piling up on the customer huge late fees - - even though check was in u. S. Mail and at their bank by due date. That allows them to pile up a total of 12 days on which they can charge late fees. And all the while check was mailed in time to arrive by the due date!

I view this not only as exploitative but also unethical and immoral. Where are the consumer protection laws that should throw this type of operation in jail. Juniper financial corporation of barclays bank is the credit card arm for airtran airlines visa program.

The only reason I agree with the above is that I had an account with this company and after 4 years I am put in collection because I was delinquent on an account I never knew I owed. The bank never wrote me or called me or did anything but put me in collection after owing this for 4 years . I probably owed $5.00 and now it is up to almost $500. I had a lot of purchases with this company and always paid on time. Why was I not billed for the bill they say I owe. I cannot get an answer from collection. No one can give me records. After 4 years I probably accumulated about $495 in charges. I hope someone from the company will contacts me. If I had a bill outstanding I would have paid it like all my bills. I pay bills immediately. You can see from prior months that I continually payed my bills on time.

If this company charges huge late fees I am sure they may never sent me a bill to me. I am not a judgmental person and maybe a mistake happened and I will accept that.

Barclays Bank Do not do business with these bank!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK. If you have a Credit Card account, pay it off IMMEDIATELY. This Bank is a RIP-OFF. I was directed to this Bank when I bought an Apple Computer. From day one, I had suspicions because they were vague about when to make my first payment. Secondly, when I made a internet payment, they were very slow to post it to the account. I called and asked to change my payment date, no can do, says a rep. I then checked online to see what others had to say. I was shocked! Paid the thing off to a zero balance, and canceled the Card. You should do the same. Beware, only a fool would do business with this Bank!

I have received numerous requests from Barclay for me to get in touch with them but despite many attempts have failed to be able to get in touch with waits on the number [protected] of between 15 and 40 minutes and requests for them to call me back which they haven't done.

We moved from England to the Irish Republic 20 years ago. We have been using our Barclays account ever since then.

This year we were told we had to close our account for some footling reason and despite filling in the requisite form and two phone calls no progress has been made.

Your service is appalling, and we need a resolution.

I have received two small charges from Juniper Bank on the Visa CC that I usually use. I have no idea what these are. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it associated with Airtran/Barclay? - that's the only thing I can figure out.

What a company! They are rude and liers. They are full of hot air and when pushed for details of their decisions they hide behind Privacy Laws and Bank Policy.

Having had this card for a number of years with a measly credit limit of $2100, and having paid my bills each month I received an email stating I was approaching my credit limit when I knew I was no where near the credit limit. The Bank had decided to reduce my credit limit, hence take me from a good debt and loan to a terrible one, hence impacting my credit report!.

The story was The Economy, but the Customer Service Rep. could not not give specific details of why, then it was non-activity on the account - there was activity but paid off each month - another excuse shot down. Then when asked for what private information they had about me which lead to this decision I was told they could not give it to me as it was against the banks policy. So when I asked for a complaint number they could not even produce one.

What a load of con merchants - no wonder the country is going to the dogs, and this is the type of business our tax dollars are going to support.

The Barclays connection is interesting as I was a Barclays Customer for some 30 years and was never treated with anything but politeness and respect - that is no longer my opinion of one of the Big 4 in England.

My plan - to close this account with immediate effect and pay off the small remaining balance and go back to the old fashioned way of doing busines - using my Bank account, as this was my only active credit card. Obviously if I owed millions I would not be harassed!

We too received an email message advising us that we were nearing the credit limit with our Juniper-Barclays issued US Airways MasterCard. This was surprising since two weeks ago our statement had the outstanding balance at about 35% of the credit limit. Behold, we discovered that they had reduced our credit limit by more than 50% without any notice. Now our outstanding balance is closer to 90% and of course this makes us a "bad credit risk". Their customer service was absolutely useless. We've always paid on time and with more than the minimum due. We've been good customers for several years and now we get treated like this? I'm disgusted with the US credit system and find it disgraceful that companies can now create bad "bad consumers" through their actions and not of the consumer.

I was a customer for Juniper Bank for almost 10 years. They called to le me know that if I paid a lump sum of my balence, they would keep my card open and give me other incentives. Once I did that, they closed my card. They made an agreement with me just to get a certain amount of money then lied to me about keeping the account open when all they were trying to do was close the account at their will without informing me. I called and called and customer service was no help. They continue to place me on extended periods of hold, promising to get an manager to review my account and nother ever happened. They promised to call me back and took my number but no calls ever came.

They are greedy and scam artists telling the consumer what ever it takes to get a higher payment out of the consumer. They prey on college students and always go back on what they say. There customer service people will say what ever it takes to get you off the phone and they never attempt to resolve anything.

They have no regard for long term customers or people who try to make payments in good faith. They don't give a hoot about you keeping in touch with them to try and maintain communication if there is a problem with the account.

They suck and need to be hauled off to jail!

My brother died one year ago. He lived with my 93 year old mother - he was her care-giver and died of luekemia. We sent a death certificate to all his creditors within one month of his death. For some reason Juniper started calling my mom in May, 2010. Five and six calls a day. She is hard of hearing and very nervous about these types of calls as she now lives alone. I arrived at her house on July 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and within minutes they called. I answered the phone and explained the situation to the caller - whose name was Ruby. I arranged to re-fax her a death certificate. She was so hard to understand that I asked where she was and she told me the Phillipines. The next morning another call came from Rene - also in the Phillipines. I was angry and told her Ruby assured her my mom would not get any more calls. Resent the death certificate a third time. Four hours later another call - another fake-named girl from the Phillipines. I tried to find a real phone number for Juniper to lodge a complaint and none exists. Two more calls later I finally got a "supervisor" to assure me that no more calls would come. They stopped for about 10 days and then a lawyer's office called and said the account had been sent to collections and I had to start all over again explaining that the creditor was dead! I found out from this woman that the amount due was $182. There actions were illegal, harrassing and unjustified and i wish the entire company nothing but ill-will

I am so frustrated with Juniper Bank. They have a toll free number, but it is all automated. If you want to talk to someone, it is a long distance call. Everything has a cost... The public relations person wants $15 to help post. I tried posting and made a mistake. I couldn't reverse it, so I was charged a $29 return fee. I didn't receive a statement. If I waited for them to send me a copy, it would have resulted in a $38 late fee. You can email them, but they never resolve anything. Juniper Bank is the worst!

I have the same issues as the others who are victims of the unscrupulous business practices.

I had a late fee taken off yet, they used that to increase my interest from 7.9% to 23.24%. Which I didn't know about until I was wondering why I have an over the limit fee. Because the new interest then put me over the limit at $124 month. Which then happen again next month upon making the min. payment? The assessed another over limit and increased my interest to 27.24%! Which makes my interest $165 for this month?

So if I were again to make my minimum payment according to them and then add next month interests it puts me over the limit again.

Another over limit fee and probably they would raise my interest again. Can they ever stop?

Now I would pay more than the minimum, had I not lost my job.

What can be done to stop this craziness?

Barclays Bank Serious security problem, online banking and help desk suck!

I am very disillusioned with Barclays Bank and am currently having a problem with their online banking (which must have serious security problems) and their apparent inability to help me. It is the case that I travel a lot and am therefore not able to get to a bank very often, once a month max.

On 24Nov06 I tried to set up a new payment online. Having gone through the correct procedures I kept getting a failure message so I called the Bank. I was told that they had added a “new facility” that stopped me setting up new payments online to people I had not paid before. I made it very clear that I was not amused at being told that a ‘new facility’ was added that takes away functionality. A very interesting use of the English language.

They said that with a 5 digit telephone banking number, which I did not know, they could help. I said that this was unbelievable considering that to do online banking I already needed 4 pieces of information: my surname, my unique 8 digit number, a 5 digit pass number and to be able to quote two random letters from my secret word.

To solve this problem I was told that I must go into a bank and get a member of the bank staff to set up the payment and save the payment details so that I could then use them online in the future. The fact that I was out of the country and would not be able to do this for at least a month was, “none of their concern”.

So on 28Dec06 I finally got to an open bank and it took two (yes two) 'Personal Bankers' 15 minutes to realize that they did not know how to do this. They said that they could make a payment but could not save the details. Their work-around was to set up a standing order with a single payment. This way, they said, it would be possible to save the details. I told them that I did not want a standing order I wanted a one-off payment with the details saved.

Needless to say I had to accept their only offer.

Yes, you guessed it, when I used Barclays online banking I could see the standing order payment had been made but there were no details saved. So I am now stuck, again. Service? What service?

I have now made two email complaints via the Barclays Bank web site, one on 24Nov06 and the other on 8Jan07. Both have not been answered. It is also interesting to note that neither complaint was given a tracking number, either on the complaint page of the website or in the automated email response. Yes, I do have dated proof that I complained. I assume that this lack of a tracking number is their way of facilitating the loss of awkward complaints.

It should be noted that the automated email response says: "We aim to respond to emails received before 5pm on the same day. Otherwise we'll contact you before noon the next day."

Am I the only one who thinks that Barclays Bank has a serious security problem and that their online banking and help desk suck? Any comments...

i answered all the stupid questions, but couldnt confirm the amount my sister paid to my acct? I was refused help in activating my online banking! the stupid supervisor, who offered i put in complain from getting on the fone, even refused to transfer me to a different dept, cos i failed to confirm amount paid into ...my acct, but confirmed every other information. whats worse? i have changed my name, and he refered to me as my married name shortly before he said, your details dont match when i gave him my maiden name?! he breeched the bloody security by calling me a name, i no longer bare? i have now switched accts! they can go to hell!we need to promote this group.

customer service non exsistant. someone took out a £23, 000, 00 loan using my name and details without my authority. when I reported this to barclays was told it would take 2 months to look into . . .as they had to prove it was fraud first! this is an insult to my integrity. to date six weeks nothing has been done. needless to say I am moving bank after 30 years here. ironically a short while ago I went to draw out some money from the counter from a cashier who has served me for years and because I didnt have any identification I could not get £50 and yet someone has got this loan without even signing any forms. Great security!

Barclays closed one of my deposit accounts and after a period re-allocated the bank account number to someone else. In the meantime my share dividends were still being paid into this account by BACS transfer and although Barclays new that the account number had been reallocated, they still directed dividends due to me to the new owner of the account. Now Barclays refuses to refund my money and has done little to retrieve my money from the new account holder who must be laughing all the way from the bank. I have banked with Barclays for 50 years, but am slowly withdrawing my funds from them ! Are there any suggestions as to what I should do?
