After booking over 65 cruises and becoming a Zenith member on Celebrity cruises, I was looking for a new travel agent to transfer 14 future cruises held by Celebrity, Seabourn and Explora Journeys. The value is around 175k. This booking with Shawn Power with Avoya was around 21K+ for a suite and extra room for my son. The agent credited only 450$. His and Avoyas commission is somewhere between 15 and 25%. He blames AMA for setting the cap on booking credits or customer benefits. I have tried calling customer service at Avoya several times and still have not received a response. Agents like Shawn Power who appear honest and genuine on YouTube are the reason many people get frustrated with online agencies. I met the owner of a luxury travel agency on a wonderful Explora Journeys transatlantic sailing this Spring and will we using him from now on. His customer compensation is even better than Costco...which is very good in my experience. He also mentioned Avoya has a poor reputation in the industry and is best to avoid at all cost.
