I went to listen to a title I bought previously and was prompted to purchase again. I logged into my account and reviewed my purchase history and found there were quite a few books in a series that I had purchased that were no longer available (there are 19 titles so far). I called Audible - customer service was so so. I was given 4 credits and was told that sometimes the author makes updates to a book or publisher no longer work with Audible so they have to remove the titles or I have to purchase them again. This seems like stealing to me. If I have already purchased a hard copy of the book, the publisher is not going to come to my house and take the book back. This has happened a few times. If the author updates the book, they are not going to come get my copy and make be buy a new one. I would strongly recommend Audible make a deal with the authors/publishers that people who purchased the titles get to keep their titles. If the author changed the book, let the user know when they go to listen to their previously purchased book that there is an option to buy the updated version.
The business practice of removing previously purchased titles without informing the reader seems like stealing to me. Please quit taking what I have purchased. Or replace it without making me buy it again.
Desired outcome: Inform a reader that a previously purchased book will no longer be available and give a credit at the same time.
