Aspen Dental customer service from the dr carta gena that resulted in me not smiling anymore

I was in Aspen Dental this morning for the sixth time for a filling and a crown for two teeth this being said let me say that in August when I started going to Aspen Dental in Lakeland, FL. I prepaid $2, 500.00 upfront then I had my mother start going to this same office and have paid for everything out of my pocket cash no questions. When I had the original impressions done in October 2018 the Dental Assistant was either new or poorly trained her name was Morgan the Dentist in charge of the entire Aspen Dental office Dr. Carta Gena had to come help or redo the dental assistants work at least six times my appointment was at 9:30 am and was seen almost on time I did not leave the dentist office until after 1:00 pm and waiting on me was my mother and sister we where going to have lunch except I was in to much pain my sister said what is wrong with your mouth what she was referring to is that my front two teeth one was longer then the other these where not even the teeth being worked on that day or ever by Aspen Dental it looked like a chipmunk to give you some kind of picture and this was at the same time I was preparing to leave on a cruise with my family the night before I left for the cruise the partial filling they had put in fell out I called there 24 emergency number twice both times being assured of the dentist on call to get in touch with me asap I never received in phone call back at all from anyone when I returned from my cruise that it destroyed because I was unable to eat or enjoy myself with my family that I always pay for and cost me over $5, 000.00 that the dentist Dr. Carta Gena was very well aware that I was going on and so was everyone in that Aspen Dental Office when the office saw me the next day from returning from the cruise but not the original Dr. Carta Gena the dentist in charge that she makes well aware of it was a male Dentist that was again either poorly trained or new he glue the same piece that feel out back into my mouth and I stated then that I was not a dentist but that seems very unprofessional and the same dental assistant Morgan is the one who assisted him that same piece that they glued back in feel out that same night I was beyond pissed the next day when I went back to the dental office the office Manager Josh made sure that the most senior dental assistant on staff saw me but not the original Dr. Carta Gena it was again the male dentist he came in did his exam and was going to do the same thing he did the day before and glue it back in the dental assistant Dee that was very well trained gave another opinion that made a lot more sense even to me but I notice her idea would have costed Aspen more and the dentist was hesitant to do that after I gave my opinion he processed with the dental assistant Dee recommendation and I did not see the dentist again that day not even to check the work of the dental assistant at the time of this visit the dental assistant Dee that was very very good made commit to me that she was hoping this would work because she had never seen temporary cab and impressions done so poorly that I would probably have problems in that area of my mouth for awhile that she did the best she could and she did a great job until my permanent crowns and fillings where put in at the next visit I had my permanent crowns put in by Dr. Carta Gena and she was in and done very quickly and held a mirror up for two seconds it seemed and I followed every instruction not to eat or drink all instructions by my dentist have always been followed exactly to the letter I have had braces always well maintained teeth no gaps or missing teeth and very straight from the braces I thought after several days that the crown was loose and in fact there is a good size gap in my mouth now from there procedure so in fact it was air I was feeling not the crown being loose but it was not a feeling I have ever had in my mouth before so I did not know what it was in fact it was my Mom that noticed the gap eating dinner because my Mom lives with me so we see each other everyday and she has always been very proud of my teeth as she worked very hard while me and my sister where growing up to make sure we had everything we needed she is an exceptional example for all mothers to follow so we went back to the dentist I had a teeth whiting scheduled but I asked to speak with the office Manager Josh first before the cleaning to show him and he stated he doesn't remember a gap either that we would put off the teeth whiting until after the Dr Carta Gena returned from vacation that appointment was today after going into the exam room for the dentist to do her exam she came in and spent less than five minutes total explaining to me that when she heeled the mirror up for approx 2 seconds I should have said something there at no time apologized or even remotely seemed concerned about the gap that is now in my mouth and never took ownership of anything that her dental office from the start had did wrong so to wrap this up that facts are I had no gap in my teeth ever I can back that up since my youth and now I do there senior dental assistant Dee already told me they really messed up that area of my mouth the Dr Carta Gena told me my x rays showed a gap a little one not that large but there was nothing she could do because I should have noticed it when she heeled that mirror up when the problem started in August at that visit and was never corrected properly all under the supervision of the dentist in charge Dr Carta Gena so I told the office manager that if they where not going to stand behind there work and uphold there dental promise that you hear all the time then to close my account that was prepaid $2, 500.00 out and he did with a refund of $1, 027.00 to take over a month to be returned to me I can not even truly smile like I used to because of this mistake done by this dentist and her dental office so does this fall into the area of your Lawsuit if so I am willing to join and help any way needed. I appreciate your time and thank you in advance for reading my dental horror story that I will live with forever now.

Sincerely,
Michael F Vaughn

Aspen Dental unethical business practices

This was the worse experience in my life of going to a dentist. We had called in to get a quote on a broken tooth and getting an implant to replace it. We were told $1500.00, so we made an appointment. Aspen Dental said they would just go straight to the oral surgeon. (Didn't bother telling me that there would be an additional $127.00 fee, otherwise I wouldn't of have taken the appointment. The office area was in such disarray that no one knew what was going on. We'll take an x-ray, no we won't, let's take you back. I was taken back and had a seat, asked a couple questions about my health and that they could pull my tooth today. Not sure who the man was that was looking at my tooth as he didn't even introduce him or shake my hand. He was in scrubs just like the rest of the dental assistants. Less than 4 minutes, I was taken back up from to the billing desk and told the implant would cost $6000.00. Wow a huge difference from $1500.00. Looking over the tooth extraction it appeared my portion of it was $33.00. I said I would go with the tooth extraction, and then the billing clerk said oh, my portion would also include $210.00 for numbing? And insurance doesn't cover that? What? I asked the price of the tooth extraction doesn't cover numbing? She said "NO". I said then I will pass on that and check with another Dentist. She then said, I still owe for a consultation of $127.00? I asked what consultation? Well you met with Dr. ? I said I didn't meet anyone and no one introduced themselves as such? I said I was back in that room less than 4 minutes to see if I was going to have my tooth extracted, which could be done by a regular dentist. So Aspen scheduled me with an Oral Surgeon and then asked I had a referral note for him? I said Aspen dental scheduled it knowing that a broken tooth needs to be extracted first and then 3 to 4 months later the implant process would begin. Why wasn't the billing expense done first? Aspen Dental failed in the basic process of "Consulting" with the patient first, especially when springing a $6000.00 procedure on them. I would never go back to this poorly ran business. Aspen Dental admitted that they shouldn't of quoted a price over the phone and that it took them awhile to get through the billing to come up with the $6000.00. I told them I wouldn't even have scheduled an appointment if they would have told me upfront that the price went from $1500.00 to $6K. She said I would still have to pay the consultation fee? I said bill me. She said no, it has to be paid now? After knowing the mistakes the office staff have made, still trying to get me to pay? Unreal. She then went on that they would send me a bill and if I didn't pay it that it would go to collections, so now I am being threatened. A great way to run an office. I said I would send them a bill for my time and misrepresentation they put me through.

I went to the waiting room where low and behold, within 15 mins I heard another couple questioning their experience and imagine that over billing discrepancies and charges. Beware and go straight to the billing clerk first to find out what your real charges are going to be and don't be surprised when they are tripled of what your expecting.

Right out in their lobby they have a sign and brochure stating, " Peace of mind PROMISE", "No Surprises", "we will provide a clear, detailed estimate on the cost of your treatment plan in writing so you know what to expect" This office failed miserably in its basic code of ethics, that it proudly displays in its lobby. Check out their website, basic tooth extraction starts at $124.00 ?

If they do send me a bill, I will go to small claims court and have a Magistrate decide if I owe them $127.00 for a consultation to tell me I would now owe $6000.00 for an implant and $243.00 dollars to extract a broken tooth. (it would be $33.00 if I choose not to have it numb first) Really what Dentist would put a patient through that?

Aspen Dental dental care - cleaning, whitening, fillings. manipulation by staff to spend more

Pressure to spend more- I went to Aspen Dental looking for help for my dad. I left with a bunch of future appts scheduled and an enormous debt headed my way. While talking to office manager about financing my dads dental care I asked about the Zoom whitening. She became a used car salesmen and within minutes had me convinced I needed to have every single issue with my teeth done immediately and at a great deal with monthly payments. She herself she said started as a customer and was so impressed with the company she began to work there. They gave me this elaborate oral b electric toothbrush system calling it a free gift but I was charged for it. The dentist that worked on me were very difficult to understand because of the language gap. I had no idea what I was agreeing to I was just nodding because I was uncomfortable. They all had terrible bedside manner. my 1st appt where they convinced me to do all this I felt like a queen. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Had stories about there own experiences. The next time I went I was barely spoke to, and felt like I was on an assembly line in a factory. I had to go back because I was numbed so much that even hours and hours later when I tried to eat I chewed apart the inside of my mouth to where it looked like hamburger meat. And there was an issue with one of my fillings. I felt like something was wrong with it. I don't remember exact details but something wasn't right. When I went back they said they never worked on that tooth. Showed me in the chart it wasn't that one but I know they did. I think they did the wrong tooth and then said they didn't touch it. When I tried to talk to the office manager about not being happy she was nowhere to be found. No one in person no one on the phone, no one anywhere was ever available to talk to me or call me back. So I didn't pay them and now they are suing me.

Aspen Dental dental

I had one tooth that was giving me trouble and when I went there they had said I needed all of my teeth pulled except for 6 on the bottom told me that I was only financed for the removal of the top the removal of the few on the bottom and just the top denture that they would want me to get a partial made for the bottom not even a year later maybe more than a year later around there I ended up having to get them bottom six teeth pulled there was something about a paper I needed signed by my psychiatrist before they would do the procedure and I couldn't get in to my psychiatrist on a timely fashion so they glossed over that.. told me if I didn't get the financing now I might not qualify for it later so I ended up getting my top pulled and then them bottom teeth were pulled so the top part of the Denture never fit right..

Aspen Dental charging $92 for another office visit

Feel free to call me [protected] or contact me [protected]@bellsouth.net.
Nov. 5, 2018 went to aspen in Sandusky ohio for free exam /xrays. was told that #29 cap needed replaced and possible root canal. told them then that we were leaving for Fl. Nov 26 . All records can be transferred to Port Charlotte Fl office when you are ready. and I was also told that all Aspen charge the same.
Jan 22, 2019 went to aspen in Port Charlotte Fl and waited 1 1/2 hours to get to see the dentist. My xrays were looked at, the dentist took 2 seconds in my mouth at #29 crown and said she agreed. When I went to check out I was charged $92 for office visit . Not very happy. The reason was a different dentist. I argued that the dentist are all thru Aspen and I was not told that I would have to pay another office visit. I said that you do not trust your dentist that are hired in other offices? This charge should have been told to me, and then I was also told that the charges for dental work are not all the same charges per area. Lucky mine were. This is not good practice. I am having the crown replaced but very doubtul that I will continue with Aspen because of these practices. I feel I should be reimbursed the $92 office visit charge.

Aspen Dental upper dental plate

I went to the Aspen Dental Office on 8440 Blanding Blvd Jacksonville, FL. and had four implants and a upper plate made for my mouth.
The cost was over $12, 000.00. I paid $10, 940.00 out of my pocket plus what my dental insurance paid. I told them when they did the impressions that I wanted the plate made with teeth that I could see when I open my mouth. After the implants healed the plate was made. I was setting in the chair when they brought the teeth in and I looked at it and the teeth and they looked normal size and the dentist put the plate in my mouth and if fit perfectly.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM, when I went home and looked in the mirror I could not see my teeth unless I pulled my upper lip up. It took me awhile to figure out what was wrong. The cavity where my gums fit on the plate is about half a tooth down behind the teeth on the plate. In other words if your front teeth were removed and glued back onto your gums with only half the tooth below your gums, that is what it looks like.
I was scheduled for eye surgery in both eyes and could not return to the dental office immediately.
When I was able to make an appointment to return and explain what was wrong they wanted to charge me over $1906.00 to make another set of teeth.
All though there were signs around the lobby saying if you are not satisfied with your dentures we will remake them free. Also they advertised on TV the same thing.
The photo's below are before and after pictures.

Aspen Dental demand to pay

Hi,

I paid whatever I was asked me to pay before the procedure. Now I am being asked to pay $412.80 more. She did not check " Available Annual Benefit" with the insurance, which was exhausted. It was a mistake at your end.
Why I should be punished.
If I knew before the procedure I could have postponed it for 2019.
I do not have money to pay.
Please consider.

Aspen Dental - payment for non services

They quoted 5789.00 for pulling 18 teeth and cost would cover her dentures. The dentist on staff refused to pull all of her teeth because he thought their where in good shape, so he only pulled 5 teeth. My mother, who is 81 years of age, is now getting the run around. The office is making appointments and cancelling them, stating she needs to speak with...

Aspen Dental dentures

Three different experiences with Aspen Dental and all gone bad. This experience with Aspen In Topsham Maine then at Aspens direction to fix the problem Auburn Maine. Still with no dentures after months of visits, Call to Regional office I got hung up on. The end result was dentures too long and then cut down so they would not stay in the mouth and told to glue them in.

Aspen Dental customer service

December 27, 2018
To whom this may concern,

Att. Robert Fontana, Robert C. Connor, Arwinder Judge

This place is a total Scam. Very unprofessional dentists and the Office Manager is incompetent to say the least. She is rude, irate and has no customer service skills whatsoever. After making an 11am appointment to have my front tooth bonded I got there early at 10:40 am, signed in and waited till 12:15 to be called, they did x-rays and sat me in a dental chair and I waited till 1pm to be seen at which time I was told I needed to talk to the finance department before they move forward. He leaves and 20 minutes later the Hygenist comes in and tells me I need a cleaning first. I said fine. The the Finance department comes in and tells me it will be $400.00 for the cleaning.and I said what? She said very abruptly well you can't have the bonding done unless you have the cleaning so you either have to pay for it or you have to sign a payment contract. I refused the cleaning and . stated I came for the bonding. They said NO they would not do the bonding unless I paid for the cleaning. I got very anxious and stressed and asked for the manager, a heavy set woman comes in with a nasty attitude and basically looks at me and says you need to lower your voice. I said lower my voice, I am not yelling I am upset because your office is trying to take advantage of me, talking about everything from braces to $400.00 cleanings to telling me the dentist will not see me unless I pay for the cleaning. The office manager who should not in any way be dealing with your patients or any type of customer relations is very ill-trained and basically blew me off by saying well Miss if you don't pay for the cleaning your not getting the bonding. She without doubt needs to be replaced. i told her and the dentist and the Hygenoist that they have not heard the last of me and now will do everything in my power to contact everyone necessary to make sure this does not happen again to anyone else. once I returned home and after reading hundreds of reviews most of which were complaints from overcharging to doing unnecessary work, to poor customer service I am contacting the corporate office, the Better Business Bureau, ther news channel and any other site I could possibly add a negative complaint. I basically took time away from my Christmas holiday and my family to have my front tooth bonded because it chipped and literally spent three and half hours in the Stroudsburg office for nothing. Beware of Aspen Dental they are a complete farce, they are unprofessional, they are incompetent and they have no customer service skills. Your company should be ashamed of yourselves taking advantage of people the way you do. I am contacting the American Dental Association immediately.

Very disturbed

Aspen Dental unethical treatment of patients

12/10 new patient x-rays and consultation
I got my xrays and then was seated in consultation area. Dr. Patel at Jackson MI location didn't even greet me when she entered the room and said "filling, filling, filling, root canal, filling, filling, filling, root canal, filling filling filling..." they told me I needed 9 fillings and 2 root canals. I was in zero pain whatsoever and absolutely shocked. I was crying and she just said "stop don't cry." they immediately led me to the payment office where they signed me up for a 2 year payment plan while I was still crying. After I had time to process all they had just told me and talk to friends and family I decided to get a 2nd opinion from my regular dentist. He was appalled. He said I did have a few VERY SMALL cavities. Even the largest one was considered smaller than average size. He said I absolutely need no root canals and I am not the first one to come to him after going to Aspen and being told they need a lot of work. staff was very rude to me over the phone and in person when I went to pick up my xrays and cancel my appointments with them.

Aspen Dental horrible dentures and would not make them right or give money back.

My Parents (both age 80+) paid over $4000 for dentures and could NEVER get them fitted properly - they went to the office several times a month and finally after 7 months was told that the warranty was up and all they could do was both PAY FOR A NEW SET. The Hilliard (OH) Aspen Dental also would NOT GIVE THEIR MONEY BACK. The staff at this office even broke my mother's bottom denture and wouldn't repair it. Now they are both still suffering with these poorly made, crap dentures. These dentures are so bad my mother almost choked on the bottom denture while eating. She and my father have to take them out to eat.

Every time I see Aspen's commercial about "making things right or your money back" it makes me sick. I don't know how the rest of the Aspen company works, but this Columbus/Hilliard office took advantage of my parents and should be ashamed of themselves AND SHOULD MAKE IT RIGHT OR GIVE THEIR MONEY BACK.

If I do not hear from your company soon, I plan on letting others know via social media and any other way I can. Others should not have to deal with this type of treatment - especially the elderly. I have their paperwork and account numbers and can supply to you via email and will supply other information when contacted.

Aspen Dental aspen dental customer service

On December 9th 2018 we contacted Aspen Dental we Googled Aspen Dental and chose a location closest to us and a man picked up and started taking our information for my fiance to have work done on an abscessed tooth and another that was behind it that needed to be removed. He said that was no problem he got all our information some of the medical background I informed him he had been on antibiotics for the required amount of time for the removal he set up the appointment. He said that the oral surgeon would in fact be able to put him completely under and that the oral surgeon was located at 13200 Seminole Boulevard Suite 204 33778 Largo Florida. Phone number is [protected] and we were formed to be there at 7:45 that's when his appointment was we would be the first patients there to see the oral surgeon. He then informed us if we wanted to save time we could fill out the new patient form that he would send us an email he did send email and I did fill that form out. The next day we arrived at Aspen Dental at the given address and the receptionist said that there was no record of an appointment for Richard! So now we were informed that we would have to wait and the oral surgeon was completely booked for the day but that a regular dentist could perform the extraction they would however do an initial exam with x-rays first to see what needed to be done. We waited about an hour and a half and then they did the initial exam they went over the information with us and told us that he needed analgesia inhalation nitrous oxide bone removal section with bone removal which was $275 and a second bone removal or section with bone removal for another $275 total we ended up paying off of a debit card mind you was $621 even. That is another complaint that we have because we have the CareCredit we are able to give our CareCredit number without having the physical card at our veterinary office and other Medical Services we are receiving however Aspen said that it is not care credits policy to not have the physical card in your hand so we could not pay with that method! They did not inform us however which I found out today that you could go online on CareCredit enter into your account and pay online to the provider we wish to pay that would have saved overdraft fees in our count and other headaches because it's 0% interest on the Care Credit. All in all we were misinformed they were absolutely unorganized there was no appointment scheduled when we had in fact sad on the phone for half an hour or the day before and set that appointment up we have proof of that or we wouldn't have the emails that were sent to us to fill out the new forms also the billing we were misinformed on that I believe we should still have been able to use our care credit for that my husband took off work we own our own business so he had to lose the whole day when you could have very easily been at home handling some office work here we did not get out of that office until 2:30 in the afternoon when our appointment was at 7:45 a.m. we are absolutely disgusted and we want to see some sort of action taken on this matter thank you! I believe his account number is his patient number is +[protected] he was seen on the 10th of December at 13200 Seminole Boulevard Largo Florida location of Aspen Dental
Sincerely
Megan Hulce O'Donnell

Aspen Dental crown placed looks like a dead tooth, hurts, and damage done to neighboring tooth when crown was placed.

Aspen Dental,
I am writing a complaint regarding dental service received at LaCrosse Aspen Dental. I would like the error fixed.
I asked for a crown on a bottom front tooth. I have enclosed copies of the bills. After over 4 trips to LaCrosse, a 1.5 hour drive from my workplace, I still do not have a correctly fit and matching colored crown. In addition, when the crown was trimmed the dentist nicked the tooth next to the crown, making the front teeth look even more uneven.
The first crown was bright white, and then three more were ordered. The crown that was finally placed looks like a smokers tooth. It does not match at all and makes my smile look like I have a dying tooth.
In addition it rubs on the top teeth and my bite is off because of it. My speech is affected because I am constantly adjusting my jaw to accommodate for the ill-fitting, mis-colored crown.
I would like your prompt attention to my concerns. I paid for the Zoom process so that I could have my teeth whitened in preparation for a new crown which would match my new white smile. I still do not have this.
I went to another dentist a week ago and discovered they could try to color match but everything would be at my cost because dental insurance will not pay for a new crown that soon.
I would like my teeth whitened again and a new, properly fit and properly matched crown be placed at no charge. I would also like the neighboring damaged tooth to be fixed.
Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Bednarski

Aspen Dental overcharging - east greenbush, ny 12061

I made an appointment Dec 3 2018 for a cleaning. got there had xrays, mouth scan, dentist checked teeth thought it necessary to replace 2 composite fillings, and pocket measurements were done. Brought out to front to sit with billing girls. No cleaning today, was not told this before hand. I was handed a print out that totaled over 1900.00. Mind you I have dental insurance which covers a cleaning in full, xrays in full and pays 70% of fillings. They said i needed a deep periodontal cleaning, had some gel crap antibiotic etc. Mind you I have no problems with my teeth. Have probably 3 fillings total and am 60 years old. Told the gal i was not paying that. The bill was ridiculous. She said ok let me take off the gels and the toothbrush and see what we can come up with. TOOTHBRUSH? apparently they added on a $135.00 oral B with out my consent. She refigures and says ok $900.00. i replied my insurance pays 100 % of cleaning and xrays and 70% of fillings so why is it 900.00. She says they dont cover a periodontal cleaning. So i told her i want a regular cleaning and the two fillings (they were charging me $72.00 for each filling after the 70%). We cannot do that we recommend a periodontal cleaning so if we dont do that it would be undertreating you! So basically they refused to treat me at all unless i agreed to the $900.00 estimate.I thought under consumer rights we have the RIGHT to refuse any treatment! left went to another dentist who looked at the printout and said that's not bad i have seen these as high as $10, 000. and yet these people are still in business.

Aspen Dental denture

I started getting my upper plate at Aspen Dental about 3 years ago--so far I'm on my 5th plate that they've made and I'm out over $1000 and the plate I currently have in my mouth is cracked--yet again! The problems have ranged from cracks to terrible fits and poor repairs. The plate I have in that was one I got about a year ago and paid $800 for (supposed to be a stronger plate than the basic)--it developed a small crack about 2 weeks ago and I took it in and was told it was just "veins" and then over Thanksgiving while I was 950 miles from home, it cracked to about an inch long crack. I took it in last week for a repair and two days later I was eating a piece of dried apple (not a rock) and it cracked again. I will no longer be doing business with Aspen Dental and am letting everyone I know not to do business with this particular office in Roseburg, OR.
