Angies List review: Angie's list home advisor

This company was calling our company constantly offering their referral services, this was going on for a couple of years. We finally accept to try their service, they had charge us per lead, from all the contact information that they send us we only got one good referral, the other numbers where disconnected to clients didn't respond our calls, text or emails, we decided this was not going to work for us, we called to canceled and ask for a credit since we got several disconnected numbers (bad referrals) they said the could only give us a credit in the account to use it for more referrals, I ask them to cancel the account.

After some months we got a letter from a collections company that said we owe them more than 1k, we where in shock! We canceled the account how could this happened, I call home advisor and they said the account was active and we owe them the money, I told the I had called to canceled and their response was that the only way to canceled was via email, I told them the person who I talked did not told me that was the process, they said they couldn't do anything and that I have to pay the balance.

We felt that home advisor is a scam, the realized the sell the same lead to different companies at the same time. This is not what they advertise.

Please think about this before enrolling in their referral business.
