I took my radiator to Affton Radiator Services for fixing. They called me after a few days and said that my radiator was "junk" and offered to "build" a new one for $675. However, I found a brand new radiator online for only $225. When I went to collect my radiator, they surprised me with a minimum fee of $115. They never mentioned this fee when I dropped it off. The repair form they had me fill out had some tiny print at the bottom mentioning a basic fee, but no amount was specified. They pointed to a paper taped next to a hand sanitizer bottle that also had small print about the fee. If I had known about it, I wouldn't have left my radiator with them. Eventually, they reduced the fee to $57.20, but I still think they should have verbally informed me about the fee when I dropped it off. I'm 68 years old and my eyesight isn't great, so I didn't see the fine print. I ended up taking it to another shop, and they fixed it for $100. I requested a refund of the $57 fee, but they refused. That's why I'm reaching out to you for assistance.

On May 26, I gave Affton Radiator a call to inquire about checking my marine fuel tank for leaks and getting an estimate for the repair. They said it would take them about two to three days before they could take a look at it and promised to call me back with an estimate. Later that same day, around 3 pm, they called me back and said that the tank couldn't be repaired. However, they did mention a procedure they could do to reseal the tank from the inside, but it would cost me over $1,100 since they would have to cut into it. I told them I needed some time to think about it because a brand new tank would only cost around $350. They assured me that if I went with their procedure, I would get a two-year warranty since it's a marine tank, whereas for a regular vehicle, it would be a lifetime warranty.
When my wife went to pick up the tank, she was surprised to hear that there was a $110.00 "shop fee." Neither she nor I were informed about this fee when we dropped off the tank. Additionally, when she asked for a military discount, the clerk became rude and explained that the $110.00 fee was for cleaning and inspecting the tank.
