Acima review: Identity theft ( 2 comments)

Someone had used my bank account information to open an account at Acima. I called them immediately after receiving the first email from them about my new account which I never applied for. I told them about my bank account info was being compromised and used to open an account with them. They told me that they really scrutinize the application for credit, but sometimes this happens and that I didn’t have to worry about it. Well the emails have continued and now I’m being threatened with my credit being hit for something I never ordered or received. I called into customer service again and now I am being told I need to furnish a police report showing my bank account was fraudulently used. Mind you because of our account being fraudulently used we have had to close our old account which we had for over 20 years and open a new checking account. Since I was treated like some scumbag yesterday by Acima customer service I have already filed my first ever complaint to the BBB. This is only the beginning of what I am going to do if they reflect anything at all period on my credit. Acima is by far the shadiest company going. Never would I do business with a company like this. Never!
