I ordered a fish finder on line and kept waiting for email stateing it had shipped.after money had cleared bank still had not shipped checked status of order at site it stated I had no order pending, at this point I called csr informed me it was still in the ware house and she had untill 12-1-11 before it had to arrive and that I could not cancell the order(very rude mannner) I have never ordered anything off line and had a delay like this and was made to feel they felt the company was doing me a favor. Will never do any type business with them again.

Thank You Gander for letting us know what to expect. I am tired of never getting any help in the Academy stores. The turn over of help is daily. The new associates are useless and look like gang bangers. The management just hires bodies but no quality associates. I am looking forward to shopping in a decent place. I hope you control your store and keep it free of mess. I hope to shop there and meet the managers. I would look forward to a clean store to shop in. Good Luck!

Gander Mountain is moving in the area. It may be higher in price but the service and quality is there. The managers stay out on the floor and they hire by experience and not by who is friends with who. I know because I am a manager for Gander Mountain and if you want quality, then you will want to shp at Gander. Our store is clean and our associates are helpful. Our managers are available and visible to our customers. We have researched Academy and we want to be your sporting goods store.

The managers just hire friends because the friends cannot get any jobs anywhere else. The friends are not experienced and just hang out all day doing NOTHING. I used to work there and just quit. Managers and their friends just sat in the back all day because they did not know how to run the store or deal with customers. Stupid management, dirty store and no supervision at all. Managers were so unskilled they would yell at employees on the selling floor. Bunch of idiots. This is a low class place for rejects. Mesquite Texas

Yes I agree about the Mesquite store. It is nasty. Things are never priced and I bought a safe there and it took over 30 minutes to load it up. There are never enough cashiers and if you ask to speak to a manager, they are busy and will not speak to Worst ever.you. In fact they will NEVER come out. The sales people do not wait on anyone. Academy stores are messed up also. The Mesquite Tx. Store has the rudest and most ignorant teenagers. They walk right past you when you ask for help. I have complained to a manager and they do nothing. You still see the same rude kids. I will never shop thete again. Its a low class place for ###s. It takes forever to check out and none of the managers are available. The front door person is slow with a line of returns and thete are never any shopping carts. You have to go outside and get your own. The store is filthy with trash all over the parking lot and inside. What a mess. L. T. Garland Tx.

Academy has the most screwed up order system I have ever dealt with. I placed an order on line and got a confirmation email, great. A few days later I check back on line to see if it had shipped. I enter the order number and zip code as requested and get a message to re-enter the order number, I do, but nothing happens. After numerous attempts, I give up. I still have not received the order and any information on if and when it was shipped, and am unable to inquire as to it's status. The order was a Christmas gift and if not received soon, I will need to go out and buy again. They need to throw out what they have and adopt a system like amazon, who is great in this regard.

I'm having the same problem! I was expecting to give my daughters new shoes this week as birthday presents from a relative (since in-store never has right sizes), payment cleared (via gift card) Saturday & today is Wed., still no info on shipment. I could understand if this was a small business, but its not!
