I had to join AARP to get the auto insurance. I was given a price that was similar to my Farmers Insurance price the year prior, but it didn't actually show limits/deductibles. So AFTER, I agreed to give it a try I found out it was like comparing "apples to oranges." Definitely lacking in comparison to my Farmers Policy, thus the reason for the big savings. Found out I could not make changes to that policy until AFTER it went into effect. That was almost a month later, which really seems [censored] backwards to me. Should have been a good time to get what I wanted, or at least closer. WTH
Then, I wasn't getting the AARP Card, despite having to pay for the so-called benefit. Contacted the company and found out they sent it to my handicapped son's residence. He previously had a Medicare AARP Drug plan. As his guardian, my name/phone number may have been in the system, but I NEVER gave them his address when I applied for the Auto Insurance Policy or my AARP Membership. The Hartford had the correct information! AARP did not like my questioning what was done, in fact, the CHAT session I was abruptly ended.
No- free gift for me despite seeing it advertised everywhere as a gift for joining. If it fits a camera like one complaint stated, I guess I don't need it.
I've been looking for available benefits nearby, and I have to say I saw one locally, the Outback Steakhouse. The Consumer Cellular is for 2 lines, but it's just me and I don't need two lines, so that is even worthless to me. Will definitely be keeping my cell phone plan. I don't travel. So, can anyone tell me what good is this service?
Thinking I will be changing my auto insurance policy in 2024 and end this AARP lack of benefits.
Desired outcome: A list of benefits I can actually use. I believe I know how the address thing got messed up, but they rather blame then acknowledge.
I bought us 5 years of health insurance at an affordable rate . It wasn't a monthly bill, just a one time deal. I found a hospital and pharmacy that took it . I can't see how it covered anything .
It has pet coverage, no vet took it . I can't see on anything where it gave us a discount or covered anything. I really came home to just take care of us for awhile. I agreed to a domestic partnership with my spouse. I didn't want tons of bills , better things that don't work at all. I wanted less bills , less debt and no gimmicks - to be a homemaker. I never wanted no insurance, just an affordable price. No one takes it , they ask me to figure a way to file it . Some policies will pay you but many don't.
Just be careful and very practical too .
