So I bought a van in Richmond Kentucky, left the dealer and the transmission failed. They sent it to their local Aamco, they rebuilt it, a couple weeks later I finally got my van back to Pennsylvania. I drove it 2 days and the transmission failed again. I called the customer number at Aamco to get help, they said..."we do not tow a vehicle to a shop for a warranty repair, that is your responsibility.", so I called around my area and was told the earliest my van could be seen was 4 weeks out. So now I am sitting with a van they did a complete rebuild on the transmission, and I cant have it looked at for 4 weeks. Then they said it would take 3 to 4 weeks to repair... If they can fit it in. I can not wait for them to fix their own screw up. The local shops did not even respond to the national Aamco consumer help line when they tried to call for me. Basically I was told I had no choice but to wait, then drive it to their shop and hope it did not break completely on the way. I decided to reach out to a local transmission shop, they used the warranty that I got with the van and said I should have the van back in less than a week. Aamco is a joke, I would not let them ix my lawn mower!
That said... the woman I dealt with at the Aamco call center, Jacklyn, she was just great to work with, she helped as much as she could and I appreciate her. She needs to get with a better company that deserves a quality employee! Overall I would say DO NOT USE AAMCO! YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY!
Recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS!!!!!
