12/17/2025 at 3p I authorized a charge for thermostat replacement on my 2011 ford f150, due to engine overheating. Mileage of 218,883 recorded on invoice.
Unexpectedly, I had to store my truck indoors in my locked garage from 12/19/2025 until 4/29/2026. The neg cable was disconnected from the battery. On 04/29/2026, after removing truck from garage it overheated.
That day, 04/29/2026 the truck was towed to local auto shop for diagnostic. Mileage recorded at check in was 218,889. Hesitantly, I agreed to another thermostat replacement. good thing I did, because once the rounded off nuts removed, it was discovered that no thermostat was installed. Shop diagnosed the water pump was actually damaged, and the cause of overheating, that the thermostat didn't need replacing from the start in their opinion.
Claimed loss: $186.00 for 12/17/2025 service $841.66 on 5/4/2026.
Desired outcome: reimbursment of $186.00 what i paid wrench.com as well as what I paid the other shop yesterday to uninstalled thermostat and diagnostics for $841.66
