World Golf Tour is an online program where you can play virtual golf rounds. It touts itself as being "free" for anyone who joins as a member. What they don't tell you is that in order to actually enjoy the game (hit a ball 200+ yards with a driver) you need to buy better clubs. The best part about this CRAP site and its employees is that the clubs and balls you buy with money, depreciate over time. You buy a driver for $8 they will buy it back for $2 almost immediately. The best part is that it doesn't even improve the gameplay. The moderators on the forum are absolute #S and will cherry pick and delete posts that don't show the company in a good light. Suggestions are grounds for deletion of your account. Essentially, this scam site is still a "beta" and has been for two years. Basically, allowing them to say that the game is seriously flawed but oh well it's a beta. They essentially deny all liability, have a NO RETURNS policy, and offer you a garbage product. Yet they are charging money for people to buy golf balls that need to be replaced every other round... This place is a joke and you should just stay away from it and its inbred employees

They will disable your account if you paint WGT in a bad light; I have already submitted reviews that will never be seen in their forums about the game manipulation and favoring players that have paid for certain game features used against other golf players during match plays and tournaments. E.G. Using a LW for a 23 yard flag against a 32mph wind on a flat green surface- and the laws of physics would cringe at a 83 yard roll results; a 3 wood against a 10 mph wind would never go more than 245 yards, but on this game- it does!

I deposited 5.00. It shows 500.00 from my bank records. This is a mistake I need a refund. I was playing Jan 6, 2019 and needed to add a few dollars to purchase new balls. I deposited $5.00. Today I checked my bank account and see that $ 500.00 was deducted. This is an error. I want an immediate refund.

I love seeing all those BS nutswingers who defend WGT. These are people who want to be virtual golf gods but cant. I'm not the greatest or any where close, but I am a level 103 champion with a scoring average of 51.75. This all boils down to getting what you pay for. You spend $8 on a pack of balls and expect them to be as advertised, but they never are. WGT manipulates this game to cost each player more money. You folks have the right ideas about WGT and yes something should be done to stop them from ripping people off. My advice? If you spend any money to play this crooked game...pay with Paypal, that way you can pull back the charges from up to 6 months later. I pulled back every single charge and I spent quite a bit more than some who have listed dollar amounts. What I got back for 6 months was $1305 . Yep, I got it all and my account is still open, although I do not play any longer. The game is fun and addictive, when its not being manipulated. So to hell with all those [censor] who defend WGT and keep posting the complaints. As with everything that has been publicized, some one will take notice.

Agree with everyone. I have been a member since 2013 but only been playing continuously for about 18 months. I am a level 103 Champion with a scoring average of 51.75 and what WGT has done over the past year is absolutely nothing short of criminal. I've had my high priced Nike balls taken one after another. Shots that are clearly in the fairway, WGT says are in the rough. Conditions are manipulated and worse the virtual equipment is manipulated. All for that almighty dollar. I really like the game, but I wont be taken by WGT any longer. I have literally spent over $1500 in the last year. I can tell you, those who paid with Paypal can pull those charges back if not more than 180 days old. I have pulled back over $1000 and still have 31 open cases. The more of you that pull back those charges the more WGT will suffer. I really hope WGT gets shut down. BTW..my WGT screen name is craaaaaaaaze8.

The saddest thing about WGT and their fraudulent business practices is that they don't need to be like that! I started playing in 2010 and for the first few years had the most absolute best experiences. Seems that for at least the last 5 years it has become unbelievably crooked the way they manipulate your shots in order to take your expensive ball away right after you have just purchased them. I still try to play the alt shot just for for, however I stay away from as many water hole courses as I can just to try and get the most I can out of my ball purchases before WGT can steal them. Just like I said at the beginning of this post, it's so very sad that WGT chooses to be like this because if they would just be fair they would probably get regular ball purchases out of me because I like to play, instead of getting a couple hundred dollars a year, they wont get anything! I know quite a few others that feel the same way as well. Just seems like they would be making a lot more money if they ran the site honestly...just sayin!

It's ball stealing has gotten more bold than that. the game blatantly stole my ball at least 4 times. complete previous hole with "paid for premium ball" and tee next hole with starter ball. I didn't change the ball, it just disappeared. flat out thievery. why aren't the authorities doing something, local police, bbb, fbi, justice department. this is game set up to steal from people worldwide.

I've been playing for at least 5-years... off and on. one of the things that is clearly an issue indicating the game is rigged to "steal" your money regards purchased game balls. at an extremely high rate, wgt fixes the game to take one of these recently purchased balls from you... either by putting it in the drink or out of bounds. i've had situations where i've hit the meter close to the line but it doesn't take which ends up with losing the ball do to a serious slice. more frustrating, are the times I purposely (because I am aware of this rigging) set up my shot to the far side of any "trouble" and hit a perfect shot with a "ding" on the meter - no wind so the shot should go close to the direction aimed... but it will amazingly end up in the water that I purposely aimed 30-yards away from. it is definitely at the point where they should be investigated - it is wayyyy too obvious to ignore at this point. I would love to be part of class-action suit against them. if anyone can provide some direction, I would join in. thanks

Wow! nice to see that there are so many other players as frustrated as I am with this game. I see everything you see wrong with the game too? certainly the things they could change but like the rest of you seemingly big money gets in the way? just like I got my head handed to me by an amatuer 21, hitting a purchaseable 3 wood big bertha, and juiced ball, he got over 200 yards off the tees and easily out drove me on every hole plus cut every corner. birdied whenever he had to, to win I shot 3 under. now I had just completed a 9 hole at the best par 5 's and shot -8. I know this game and play it well at times. these situations occur way to often and I have sent the user names of several not so amatuers, I have no clue what wgt does with this as there appears to be more and more showing up. at least this guy tried to hide it, he did not have the same or better driver than me! there are still holes here and there that I do not care if you hit an absolutely perfect shot thats has worked on a thousand other holes, same winds, same elevation nearly same distances, it is always in the trap, no matter, center hit or not. and god forbid once you elevate your level then anything less than a near perfect hit looses usually around 30% and you just hit a shot in relation to center and was perfect, go figuire! then there is the infamous if you fly over a trap I reach up and grap your ball out of thin air and place it in the trap or even how about the one where you are over or clear of the trap or obstruction and it hops in just for grins. they need to quit manipulating the games as I hear you saying that? I just play anymore the courses as I can not get a clean game against anyone seemingly and usually just once a day. except when I get extremely frustrated and I give up 20, 000 credits just to get to a level where none of their horse crap applies. more than likely after I get done spending what money I have on next level equipment I will go to a better game. funny how you purchase their balls and lost balls become a problem fir your game when you have not lost a ball in a thousand rounds!

When is this legal action against wgt/topgolf going to happen? the thread (and original complaint) date back to 2009... I hate to be the one to point this out, but it is now 2017! and wgt are still screwing with players' shots, still dropping, stalling, freezing and intentionally interfering with web browser connection and ultimately game play, costing players balls, money, patience... most of us understand that it is 'just a game' - all that we are asking is that it is forced - by legal means or otherwise - into providing a fair and equal game.

I've played this game for a couple of years. I haven't paid any money for decent clubs. I used cheap balls.

How? I play a lot of the advertisement videos while watching TV for 2 credits each. It takes a period of time to collect enough credits but with patience, clubs can be upgraded easily.

I'm fine with that since I don't expect this to be a free site. I'm sure a lot of software development dollars have gone into this game. It's better and more stable now than when I first started playing.

I have been playing wgt since nov 2014. lately whenever I join a challenge skins game I am booted out until I dq. 3 times. it is totally controlled and altered by wgt. I have lost many dollars. there seems to be no recourse. I will play a shot that I ding and it goes 15 yards offline. I believe this site is a scam and would like to join the class action lawsuit.

I asked to reopen my WGT account and get the clubs I had been using before and balls. What i got was a starter set of clubs and balls. So I sent members@worlgolftour a message that i was waiting for the other equipment that i had before i left 7 moths ago. They responded that it wouldn't be fair, they would have to replace everyones equipment. Which was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. Who would know besides me and I wouldn't tell anyone else but they said NO. So I spent an hour doing surveys for credits to buy 3 Callaway balls to get better distant and more consistent shots. But the starter Driver just didn't work well and I had 2 of those Callaway balls go away. I got mad and sent members another email and they responded with look at the FAQ section of the forum and learn how to hit and putt, so i did. Wrote it all down because my 67 year old mind is not what it used to be. Went online tonight and got in a game with 3 others and on the first green I hit the ball done the middle of the fairway, second shot was hit a littte less the distance t the flag and it traveled up and landed short of the green. That was very surprising but with the VEM working, that's what you get. My 3rd shot from the rough just off the green went 3 ft and stopped. Now tis is a Par 4 hole and I have already used 3 shots to get on the green. I'm 24 ft from the flag and on fast 9 greens. I did what the instructions said to do and swung my putter, the ball rolls 24 ft then around the cup and another 7ft past. My player level is Master which means i will have some difficulties in making some shots. But I did what they told me to do and on every other hole it was a Bogey so at the 5th tee I told the guys I was out of it. WGT has joined Topgolf recently and I don't think they know what WGT does to make money. This so called Class Action Suit had been talked about for 2 years, why hasn't something been done? These pepole are ripping off the public and doing illegal things that should be called on the carpet for. Come on CA, do something before it's to late. If you want to know about the Novus 1000V VEM WGT put in to alter shots just Google it and read about it. It is the best thing for realism in a virtual game and programmed right will give you the capability to create flowing streams and swaying trees to the wind on any golf course. Why didn't WGT use it that way?

To the person who posted on 4 November, 2015 "Golf Instructor".

I have had the same thing happen to me - a closed account. The account was open for years, had some $ in it (don't know how much as it was a family members account), and was not used by me. Went back and forth with WGT after they closed it. Why did they close it after so many years of being open? I posted something negative regarding WGT in the forums. The game has had a lot of glitches over the past few months and has become very frustrating. Rather than address the glitches, I got attacked in the forums by other 'players' and one of my family members accounts got closed. It was on the same email and credit card, but it was not MY account. I have a separate account that I play on, and it was obvious to WGT that was the case due to play style, clubs, rounds played and so on. They unjustly closed an account and flat out stole the $ in it. In addition, WGT is conducting interstate gambling, and gambling crossing across country boarders. What WGT is doing is illegal in many regards. I simply wanted to have fun, but WGT put the slam to me, stole my money, and ran. The can of worms they opened for themselves is huge. After 30+ years on the internet, and yes there was a net back in the 80's for a small group of us, I know how to play the game. Going to be fun for me, not so much for WGT.

I couldn't agree more and yet another area that they use to steal money for that needed "profit" you mentioned is to disable accounts that they claim are multiple accounts. I have two different people playing and numerous times use my Google play account to buy credits for my girlfriend and then they disable both accounts. I also use my account on my kids games too. The only time a new player is used is after one is disabled. I'm sure its happened many times when siblings play from same IP address or use parents Google play to buy upgrades. They never disable any account until after making a purchase and/or do well in a tournament which they disable before having a chance to finish in the top spots. I've had this happen several times now and when I questioned them, they said I could only have my original player which at the time I had forgot was done years ago when the game first came out. Obviously they had forgot too because it was not discovered until I joined my own country club with that player and owned by the account both me and wgt thought was my first from this year. They disabled the player from 2009 who held the #1 spot in several tournaments and top 5 in them all. When questioned, they gave the same speech which if true, they would have not disabled the true first account with many upgraded clubs purchased with my money. They would have disabled the player with 1 coin/credit and stock clubs at master level. Together, my girlfriend and I have had close to $600 stolen from them and it seems now that our "bad luck misses" are much more often than random would suggest. I have reported them to Google who has not responded and wonder if turning to their sponsors or employing some developers or hackers of my own is a better way restitution. Currently it seems they are being allowed to steal without being moderated or held accountable.

I agree with other's frustrations. I learned today that they can decide your ball is used up and make you take another one. I hit a ball right next to a green and they took it out of play and forced me to use a new one. balls mysteriously disappear from a sleeve of balls and they tell you a ball will get worn out? a computer golf game ball get worn out? I can understand losing a ball in a water hazard or out of bounds but "worn out?" how would that program nuance work? you cannot get backspin on free balls. these people are shameless. I have sent emails to them and facebook and the federal trade commission. this is a money grubbing scam. oh yes since last week they changed the programming so that now you cannot look at reverse green opponents shots like you could last week.

Dear southernlawman, your circumstances are very similar to mine as for the tiers as such and very interested as you sound to get class action going.in their "terms and conditions' they say that they can not assure an even playing field for any of the games (stroke, matchplay ect.) that involved any monies? and 50% of the"t. a. c.) are about indemnities and how they can't be suit. but talk is cheap my friend and everyday someone else is being affected by these weak people who prey on those people that seek some solitude in a world with very little empathy, and I would ask of your help to organize this class action and if you agree the money we receive we set up a co-op (from class action group) a site that runs for profit to improve the site and not life-styles, which I think with the right people, could be the happy meeting place for the world wide golf family to enjoy without prejudice. contact me if interested mick davies, south australia.

@willgolfforfood - I see you are a wgt member but you haven't played any games. you have zero score history, zero stats, that means you are one of two things, m or in all probability both. a multi accounter that posted this under another name so no one would know who you are, or you are a wgt employee that used this name to post so no one would see what you were doing. at any rate, you are partially correct. the t&c very clearly states that wgt can change anything at anytime regardless of what the use may like about it, and they infact do that. what it doesn't say is that wgt has the right to lie about what they do. and if you think they do not lie, you are in for a huge surprise, and I hope you find that surprise sooner than later for your own sake.

To anyone that thinks wgt is on the up and up with the way they conduct their business, you are very badly mistaken. the principles of this company are in the gambling business... and it shows with how they treat their customers.

I have no doubt that WGT aims to get your money, and as much as possible. But as distasteful as WGT's practices are, they are not illegal. All you need to know is clearly stated in the conditions you agree to when you sign up. WGT isn't violating any promises because it explicitly tells us that nothing is actually or implicitly promised. Them's the rules. If you don't like the way they run their game, then don't play. Or play for free and take what you get.

Seriously? The game is 100% free but only to get your feet wet. After that if YOU choose to invest in the game to improve your abilities so what? They didn't steal from you...it's your choice. Take REAL golf for example. You can buy cheap clubs or quality clubs, but again it's your choice. They have other options to earn credits too. Surveys, Offers, Promotions, that some find appealing, some don't. You got it, again your choice. All I know is I've played WGT for years, do find them as greedy ### too sometimes but only out of frustration. It's a business, they make profits, and again the bottom line is if you don't like it simply don't play.
But to go off the deep end with "fraud" etc...sounds like sour grapes imo. Man up.

I just wanted to say that since my last post on here, I have quit WGT and had them remove my name from their roster. Their manipulation has gone far beyond anything I have ever seen in any internet game. It also seems the owners are making a lot of money on a Beta game when I thought a Beta game was only temporary until they worked out all the bugs and problems. As far as being "FREE", every internet game is free to start and you will always get hooked because they make you look good. But when you don't spend money, the game changes. Interesting how they can do that.
Good luck with your Class Action Suit, they need to be given the book on illegal practices. I hope someone will let me know when it happens. I have played the game for almost 2 yrs. and even brought friends to join me because it was so much fun at first. Right when they copyrighted the use of the Novus1000v VEM, things changed for the worse.

New to this game site.. I did notice that everything is faster and out of control.. or is it just me.. I realize to speed up the game makes for more rounds per day.. so tell me why should I have to lock and load and just shoot.. I really like the old way.. slower yes but I had more control.. most likely will play less in wgt...

Oh? ive been playing numerous golf games for over 20 years. fast eddie dont know what you are talking about! I also play real golf. flaws? couple days ago I was playing a master who was real good and knew how to play! he got shanked real bad on one of the holes... so bad that I could not belive it! just last night, I was in a foursome, and it so bad, that two players quit, and one was a legend! 2 of us stayed on... the tour pro and i, a master. on one hole the tour pro, had a 1ft birdie putt, and he ended up with a bogie! I was only 4ft away, and and it took 6 putts to sink it. there was hardly any break! the pin was at an even lie. then as the game went on, at anothe hole, on the fairway, the shot line quickly jumped... no control whatsoever! it went where it wanted to go! it shanked me way off the fairway into the rough! then I realized that it was the exact same hole and the exact same shot the other player made a couple of days ago. absolute proof that this is a pre programed shot that the game made itself at that same spot at the same hole. why dont you get out of here fast edie... the people making complaints here know what they are talking about. this forum is for making complaints, and not arguers that make ridiculous statements.

This is hilarious, notice none of the people gripping can play the game! it does cost money to get the equipment necessary to get to top levels of play but you are offered the option of taking surveys for free credits.
Once you get better equipment you don't need the expensive balls most of these guys us and a lot of players have become tour legends using cheaper clubs because they learned how to play the game correctly.
People kicked off for multi accounts, have multi accounts and are cheating, it is also hard to catch them but once they get caught they are given the opportunity to prove the other account is registered to someone else, failure to do so means accounts closed as it should be!
Is the game perfect? no! but it is not a scam, these guys are either the scammers themselves or too lazy to learn how to play!

Another nut swinger. I'm a level 103 Champion with an scoring average of 51.75, so don't talk about crap you don't know. WGT is absolutely a scam.
