Scam
William Took my money, did no work and would not refund the money, his "Contract " is a fraudulent document
The business address is not legitimate, no business licence. Lies Lies Lies
William is a smooth operator, a serial scammer up and down the Western seaboard, he takes your money, either to do work that will not get done, or hires your job out
which you pay for, he then hires designers or contractors to do the work, you may get plans or designs but the people that did the work did not get paid
he is a repeat craigslist scammer with a wake of destruction in his wake. DO NOT HIRE HIM, HE IS A FRAUD.

Fraudulent activities
His website states he is an architect, but he is not. His company has Inc. at the end. But it is not incorporated in California, and the address on the contract paper is a bogus. I sued at the local court after he took my advance money ($5, 000+) and vanished. But the clerk at the court informed me that there is no company at the address. He wrote in his wife’s name as a payee to the two checks I wrote the amount and signed. He said he has a stamp and I trusted him because he was an acquaintance of my friend. He endorsed the checks by signing William on the back. After he ripped off about two dozens of SF Bay area people, looks like victims appear to be in Canada where he has his family. I do not know if I can serve him in Canada. Or, could I sue his wife? Please contact if you wish. I have a list of victims and evidences. [protected]@efaw.net

Yes, I too was ripped off by this jerk. I had to look back through my Quicken app and it was to the tune of $2, 950. He drew up some really crude drawings, definitely nothing that could be presented to the courthouse. I finally just walked away from it and never got him to refund a dime. A real [censored] bag.
Business solicited freelance work from my business, received and approved deliverables, and will not pay for work.
To anyone who sees this complaint, also search Design Envelope, William Summers or William Edward Summers Inc. You will find more. Seems he has been defrauding many drafters and clients over the past several years.

Scam
William Summers never delivered completed drawings for which we paid a deposit of $500 and for which he demanded the remaining $500. His work was sloppy and unprofessional. He became verbally abusive and threatening when we refused to complete payment without having received the drawings.
I myself have been scammed by this individual and would like to warn others of his game. He advertises on the net under craigslist and Usednanaimo as well as others with different business contact names designenvelope as well as designmaterials. Do not get taken by the scammer as I have. The work he did for me is totally inaccurate and useless. I lost 1500.00 befor I caught onto the scam. I will be persueing him in court as well.
The guy is a piece of work that is for sure! Now he is going around slamming the clients publicly and also designers he has not paid, telling more lies and trying to distract from his actions. It's our own faults he took our money and gave us nothing of course.
I wonder what A.K. from San Franciso did to get deserve losing his $5000 deposit and getting a false business address?
I wonder what C.S. in Vancouver did to lose her $25, 000 and never got a dime of the $12, 000 settlement WES agreed to pay after being sued by her many many years ago?
The 28 court cases in BC and dozens in California speak for themselves. I hope his actions catch up with him before more people get taken for their hard earned money. At least if they see this information they can make a choice who to believe.
William Summers is currently holding progress on a job hostage. He took a deposit, called a meeting and demanded more funds and called it the half way point draw...nothing had been done. We refused and now he has leined my property. He appears to be running a fraudulent business and because the amounts are so small it is very difficult fight this type of fraud through the legal system...
