Cancelling our account, stop charging my paypal account
Automatics & Machinery has been relatively closed since Nov 1, 2024. The account could have been under [protected]@automatics.com or [protected]@automatics.com , as they both had a card in their name. I have asked 3 times, then finally received a reply to so I could cancel and check my paypal account for the refund. For the auto-charge on a 1-year wetransfer account. I...

Unauthorized charge for a yearly subscription, for $228.00
My printer, Licher, sent me a draft via WeTransfer, and when I tried to open it, there were three options. I clicked on the first one, a “free trial for a few days”, since I only needed to view the document once.
A few days later, I got fraud alerts from American Express and my bank, California Credit Union, for suspicious activity. Turns out this “service” tried to charge me $228 for a yearly subscription! They didn’t get through on my credit cards, but they succeeded through PayPal.
I reported the charge as unauthorized, but PayPal denied my request. And forget about contacting WeTransfer. Every link you try does not work. There’s no phone number, no customer service, no one to talk to. The only reply I got was an email with a broken link.
Claimed loss: $228.00
Desired outcome: Have my money back!

Fraudulent charge
After using this "service", which is the default way that Mike's Camera of Boulder, Colorado sends images of their developed film, a subscription charge of $228 appeared on a charge card on 4/19/25 that I have never used at that establishment or online. I don't know where they got my card number, but the charge is from Amsterdam! I'm in the US! I tried...

So, I was trying to get this big file from my friend, right? And I was like, "Okay, let's do this." So, I downloaded it and everything seemed fine. But then, when I tried to play it, it just wouldn't work. I was so frustrated! I mean, what's the point of sending a file if it can't even be opened, right?
But then, my friend told me about WeTransfer. And let me tell you, it was a game-changer. With WeTransfer, I was able to send and receive large files with ease. No more worrying about whether or not the file would work. Plus, it's super easy to use. All you have to do is upload the file, enter the recipient's email, and hit send. It's that simple.
And the best part? It's free! I mean, who doesn't love free stuff, am I right? Of course, there is a paid version if you need more features, but for basic file sharing, the free version is more than enough.
Overall, I highly recommend WeTransfer. It's a great way to send and receive large files without any hassle. So, if you're tired of dealing with unreliable file sharing methods, give WeTransfer a try. You won't be disappointed.

Disappointing Experience with WeTransfer's Free Version for Large File Transfers
I recently gave WeTransfer a go with their free version. I had three files that were each around 450 gigs in size that I needed to send over to a colleague. Unfortunately, it took almost the entire day for each file to download. Needless to say, it took me a day and a half just to complete a 20 or 30 minute project. I was pretty disappointed with the experience and don't think I'll be using WeTransfer again in the future.
WeTransfer Review: Free to Paid Version Issues and Pushy Upgrade Offers
So, I was using WeTransfer for a while and it was pretty good. I mean, it did what it was supposed to do and I didn't have any major issues with it. But then, I decided to upgrade to the paid version for a bit and when I wanted to go back to the free version, things got a bit weird.
First of all, they wouldn't let me go back to the free version. I mean, what's up with that? I thought I could just switch back and forth whenever I wanted, but apparently not. And then, when I tried to upload something, it kept stopping and giving me error messages. Like, seriously? I just want to upload a file, why is it so difficult?
And then, to top it all off, they kept trying to get me to upgrade again. Like, come on, I already paid for the upgrade and now you're trying to get me to do it again? That's just not cool.
Overall, I feel like WeTransfer is a bit of a scam. They lure you in with the free version and then try to get you to upgrade, and when you try to go back to the free version, they make it difficult for you. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Disappointing Customer Service from WeTransfer: A Pro Account Holder's Review
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with WeTransfer. I mean, I've got a pro account and everything, but when I needed some help, they just left me hanging. I tried emailing them, but they never got back to me. And forget about trying to call them - there's no phone number to be found anywhere. All they do is send you to their website, which is about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine. I mean, come on, guys - I'm paying good money for this service, the least you could do is give me a little bit of customer service. It's like they don't even care about their customers. Honestly, I'm starting to think I should just switch to a different file sharing service altogether.
