Weis Markets Bakery

I had placed an order a week ahead of time with a very specific details was told no problem how they are charging extra though which I had no issue with I ordered 30 chocolate sunflower cupcakes and 30 vanilla rose cupcakes from Weis in Lebanon PA for my wedding and it’s cupcake display when I picked them up not only did they not even look how I asked and the cupcakes being completely dried out but got extremely damaged upon walking to car because they didn’t place any icing on the bottom to keep them into place so had to throw completely away and when something was said to the manager it was said that’s what you get for purchasing cupcakes for your wedding from a grocery store where people don’t have experience in the bakery department Meanwhile I spent $120 on something to just have to be tossed in the trash extremely upset and will never ever recommend someone to go there.

Desired outcome: Refund or credited in some way I took pictures of it and could not even use for my wedding cupcake display!

Weis Markets Buy one get one free meat

This morning, Sept.23, 2023 at 9:45 am #177 in Muncy, Pa. I bought meat.
Each package had a sticker buy one get one free and was also reduced from the original price: boneless pork rib $ 2.24 each package (both same price) boneless pork rib $ 2.59 each package (both same price)
London broil $ 5.95 for one other one
London broil $4.57
Also had other purchases that was $ 3.79 for sausage and Turkeyhill ice cream 2 for $ 6.00 and mint tea $ 1.13 those charges were ok
According to my math I should of been charged $ 2.24 + 2.59 + 5.95 + 3.79 + 6.00 + 1.13 = 21.70 but my bill came to $ 31.10 a difference I $ 9.40

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a refund

Weis Markets - La Plata, MD store

Our store used to be one I took pride in shopping in and bragged about it to the Safeway and Giant shoppers in my group. I believe the manager, Jeff VanDyke, has left pretty recently since I never see him or any other manager for that matter. He was the best. He was a presence and roamed the store and chatted with the shoppers. Lately the faucet in the...

Weis Markets Employee val at e market street york location

I will never shop in any WEIS markets ever... Today marked the 2nd time that their employee named VAL called me "Karen". First time I was helping an older lady with her credit card as I was standing behind her and it wasnt working so I stepped up to assist. Val told me to mind my own business and that she is a regular and will figure it out. I then paid for my items and she said as I was leaving "bye Karen". I turned around and said what did you call me and she was laughing. I called management and corporate to complain and they said they would take care of it.

I havent seen "Val" at the York -Market Street store since then except for today. I was at the line next to hers and honestly didnt recognize her until she turned around and glared at me in line and I muttered to myself "Thats the woman who called me Karen". As I walked by Val on my way out she exited her register and stood in front of my with arms folded confrontationally and said "did you just call ME Karen". I said no you are the lady who called me "Karen" and she then said I didnt get in trouble and no one spoke to me about your complaint before. She then said I can do what I want here and never get in trouble. I walked to customer service to speak to management and manager on duty was a female didnt have a name tag on and she seemed not to care and didnt allude to the fact she knew what the degrogatory name "Karen" meant. I called their corporate store and spoke to "Dory" who took my complaint again and said will have someone call me.

Long Story Short - Big businesses dont care about their customers only about how much we spend every week to fill their pockets. Maybe I will stand outside and protest them with some of my neighbors who have also had terrible experiences in that specific store - then maybe someone will listen.

Desired outcome: She needs to be fired.....

Weis Markets Dented cans of food at the Weis Markets on 1070 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA.

I've filed numerous complaints against this store with the Better Business Bureau, and my complaints all get rejected by a non-working agent named Anthony Distler, so I thought I would report it here on this site.

This store has workers there that don't care about their job let alone the customers who shop there - the workers are all kids that have zero respect for their elders! They stock products there and the cans are ALL DENTED! New management needs to be in place at that store, and they need to care more about what they put on their shelves! You don't put DENTED cans of food on the shelves! You're inviting a lawsuit when you sell dented cans of food, and someone unknowingly buys the cans and eats the food and gets very sick. Think about it!

The Weis Markets in Tannersville on the other hand is nicely run and the food is actually very fresh, and they offer more than the Stroudsburg store.

Desired outcome: Stop selling dented cans of food and fire these rude kids who don't care about their jobs!

Weis Markets E coupon for tide pods

Weis should be fined for false advertising. They provide e coupons for items that don’t correctly coincide with the actual Item carry.

Presently they have a $2 coupon for tide Pods. The count is for 18 or 31count. The tide pods comes in 32 & 42 count. So u can’t get the discount on the 32 count cause it’s NOT the 31 count. This is such BS.

I used to really love this store. Very, very disappointed in their customer service. Will think long & hard before I return.

Weis Markets Workplace aggression and hostile behavior

I was a customer last week, standing in the back by meat I think? And I heard what I found out was the AST. MANAGER - Ashley "literally screaming" at one of the employees and then threaten him with a warning. He came out of the doors and I asked him if he was ok. He politely replied yes. But then she came out and looked absolutely fuming! I was in there again today and witnessed her go to his aisle, where I was shopping, snotty tell him he wasn't supposed to do that! Then leave.Tells me she came over just fir that reason. AND she did it with me standing there! I was. Shocked! It was very triggering for me, coming from an abusive household. My pulse started to race and I couldn't breathe. I had to leave my cart, and go outside to my car. I don't think I can go back there knowing she is there. Which is sad because everyone is so nice there. And that young man in the dairy department was always so helpful. But you should know he isn't the only employee I have seen her abuse. And in front of customers too! I just sat in my car and cried for that young man:(

Desired outcome: Well I would like to see her fired, but I doubt that will happen. Her behavior was HORRIBLE..not just bad. And I think that man deserves a written apology! He may have ptsd, we don't know?!

Weis Markets Horrible management

I’ve been working at the Weis Markets in Havre de Grace, MD, 21078 for a year, and the management is absolutely horrible and condescending. As of recently, I came into the store on Monday, and went into the break room (where they keep the schedules for all employees, past, present and future) and I noticed that in the present schedule, there were significantly less papers than the other two. My name was not in the schedule. So then, I went to the front desk were two managers were standing and talking, and I told them that there were significantly less papers in the ‘present’ schedule, and that I did not see my name. I explained this, and one of the managers, John, immediately says “they cut everyone’s hours”. I then ask both managers (Rebecca and John) when I worked next since this information wasn’t available on the schedule, and they gave me a pink slip that said I worked 3/7/2023, and 3/11/2023, as well as the times. Today (3/4/2023), another employee let me know that I was scheduled to work, so I called the store and was connected to another manager (Ms.Pat) and explained to her that John and Rebecca did not tell me I worked today. While speaking to her, I hear Rebecca tell Ms.Pat that she told me to come in today. This is blatantly untrue. They were more concerned with how I knew rather than the fact that Rebecca and John were untruthful, almost as if I was not supposed to know. This is not the first time managers at this location were untruthful, I’ve taken it upon myself to document via video their responses, because prior to this, another manager (Jeremiah) told me it was okay to go home because I was not feeling well and even went as far as to tell me to feel better, but told other managers that I left and didn’t inform anyone. Again, I have video evidence that this is false, but despite the evidence, I received a verbal warning from Rebecca who did not care if Jeremiah was truthful. Following this, I asked her who I could speak to, because I didn’t believe I should receive a warning for something I did not do, and she said she didn’t know. I am now starting to understand why our store keeps failing the audits. I have way more information on worse things that happen in the store, such as employees smoking weed at work, rape allegations, and bullying, however for the sake of paragraph length, I will focus this complaint solely on management.

Side note: the video attached to this complaint is where I inform the manager Jeremiah that I was not feeling good. He asks me if I have any sick hours, tells me that he’ll ask Ms.Pat if I do, and tells me to feel better. Following this, he tells another manager (Rebecca) that I did not inform anyone that I was leaving, and just left abruptly, to which I received a verbal warning. This is the video Rebecca refused to see.

Desired outcome: I believe it would be best if an HR representative came and and spoke to the managers about being respectful towards customers and employees, as well as honesty and professionalism.

Weis Markets Workmans comp.

24 Jan I was off work due to injury. Went back to work on Feb. 5th. Approved Workmans comp. Today is 18 Feb. 26 days later so far, and I've received not 1 phone call or correspondents from your workman's comp company in Washington state. Sunbury office has told me numerous times that they called, and the west coast would contact me that day. To this day----nothing. No call, and no check. Why on earth would you go to a company on the other side of the country who doesn't answer their phone. I've tried over 6 times to contact them and nothing. Also e-mail and nothing. 23 years with the company and this is the respect that's shown. Isn't it amazing.

Desired outcome: Investigate please so this doesn't happen to any other employee. And find out about my check please.

Weis Markets WEIS Homestyle Minestone Soup - 19 Oz.

I purchased, "WEIS Homestyle Minestrone Soup - 19 Ounces" within the past month and there was nothing but broth in the can, and MINIMAL SCRAPS of staple foods and it had an ODD TASTE. We have purchased this product prior and we're very satisfied, not this time. My husband and I were shocked at the contents.

Purchased at Newton, NJ

Codes on bottom of can:

Best if used by 11/05/2023

GED B30A33

Desired outcome: Store credit for additional cans would be appreciated since we are loyal Weis customers and spend about $300 a month on average.Thank so much for your time with this matter!Stephanie

Weis Markets Customer service

Called customer service desk at muncy pa weis at 3:32 pm. I asked if I can return something with a receipt and the clerk stated “what, you want to return a piece of bad meat?” I was offended on so many levels. I actually purchased Christmas lights that are the wrong color and never even opened. I see no issue with returning such a product yet was told I shouldn’t because they just “throw everything away that’s returned.” I will never shop at Weis ever again! I was a customer service clerk at shop rite in Philly for 10 years and dealt with unbelievable customers in that area yet always was polite given my role to represent the market. Nowadays customer service is what keeps companies in business so I do not see Weis surviving.

Desired outcome: Allow me to return my unopened Christmas lights with receipt

Weis Markets Customer Service

I have contacted the corporate customer service office 5 times in the last 4 days (2 voice mails, 3 call back number). I received one phone call from a Carey who cut me off mid-question and who has never called back nor has anyone else. I know the customer service on the store level was bad but am amazed it goes all the way to corporate. You all seem to vcare very little for you long-term customers.

I am simply inquiring about a Weis coupon book that other friends who shop at Weis are getting and telling me it has good coupons in it. All I want to know is how I get on the mailing list for these as apparently many have been receiving it for years and I have not. They used to be given out in the stores but have not seen them now for years. I am a gold preferred customer for 15+ years at the Lititz Weis and my mother has been a Gold preferred customer at the Red Lion Weis. Neither of us receive this mailing.

Desired outcome: Information regarding the mailing of the mailing and a successful return call from customer service OR whatever department can answer my question and finally provide good customer service. Madelyn Laughman [protected]

Weis Markets Employment

I was hired at Weis Market in April 2022.

On the website it stated a $500 bonus would be given after working 90 days.

I have not been given that and when I inquired with HR I was given a reason that the bonus ended in January 2022.

The website still had the bonus advertised up to August 2022. This is false advertising.

The women in whom I spoke to was rude and full of excuses. It disappoints me that the company would not follow through with what is advertised.

Desired outcome: The $500 bonus

Weis Markets Not opening a registers when people were waiting in line

On 9/16/2023 I was at your store in Selinsgrove and there was only one register open and there was a line of six seven people mostly elderly and they would not open the other register even though they had two girls standing there talking in front of the registers one of the girls that I spoke to ask my friend which is 86 years old if she was paying with cash or debit card that they would take her over and help her but she says no I'm paying with a check is your company so hard up they don't want to hire nobody to work and you put in all the self scans which nobody wants to use so you don't have to hire nobody but you have four or five lazy people walking around your store all day I've been wanting to email you for the last year this is an ongoing problem I walked to the customer service to place lottery tickets and you have to wait because they're sitting there talking to each other I went to Karns today to shop because I'm I'm tired of standing in line at your store

Weis Markets Bad customer service store #227

8.12.2022: Been a customer of Weis for a long time and have spent a lot of money at your store over time (at least $200 - $300 a week) since the store opened. When the store first opened there was always a management presence, (no matter what time of day), we could go to if we had an issue. If you talked to them in a civil tone, they would always do their best to resolve the problem. It was around 6:30 - 7:00 pm, and I went up to the customer service desk where I was informed by at least three teenage girls standing at a register across from the darkened desk, not working, just shooting the breeze that the customer service desk was closed and I couldn't even get my lottery ticket processed. (Do you not provide a break-room for employees to go to when they are taking a break?) They looked at me knowing very well that if I complained to them about it, the complaint would go nowhere, so I just walked away. Do you know how bad that is for a customer to feel that way? Is there any supervision at all? The only management person I've seen in the past was a 20-22 year old guy who by comparison was old to all the teenagers there however, he wasn't much better. I had to deal with him one time and he got confrontational because I needed help on the self check-out line, (which we HAD to use because there wasn't a register with an actual human to check us through available). If this was just one time, maybe I could say, okay, that's just one time but, this is not the first time and it's happening on a more regular basis as the year has gone by. The point is not whether I could use the lotto machine or yes, I did get my groceries checked out, (one thing you guys always make sure is working whether it's an actual person or self checkout). The point is, if you offer a service, then shouldn't it be open for use as long as the store is open regardless of whether the children are getting bored or not? Not ONE person out of everyone there can run the customer service desk? I realize you're the grocery/business experts but, this just feels like bad management.

Desired outcome: If a service is offered, it should be open during normal store hours regardless of how slow it may be on any given day/night.

Weis Markets Employment termination

My mother has worked part time for Weiss for over 14 years. A dedicated, hardworking employee. Recently, within the past month, she filed a complaint about abusive behaviour by her Manager to the Store Manager. Her Manager yelled and cursed at her. It was not the first time, but my mother had enough.

All seemed resolved, but now, interestingly enough my mother has been fired for theft this past week. She was threatened with legal action, was told she lost all her earned vacation time, and was forced to sign paperwork, of which she did not receive a copy of or understand what she was signing. My mother is 82 years old and her English is not good, understanding, reading, or writing. When I asked my mother if she was stealing she only remembered twice in all her years walking out of the store without paying, and accidentally doing so. She was embarassed to admit it so she never went back to pay for the items at the time. She is willing to pay for anything she accidentally took. She is elderly and forgetful, but taking something without paying is considered stealing that is understood. Her Store Manager even indicated she probably forgot. My mother is aware of other employees in the store who have purposely stolen merchandise, but they still maintain their employment at Weiss, of which 2 are Managers. I thought my mother was going to have a heart attack they scared her so bad the day they accused her of theft. It could have been handled a little bit more compassionate given her age and time with the Store. I should have been notified as I have Power of Attorney over her.

Desired outcome: Full investigation; confirmation if she does indeed loose her earned vacation;
