On January 17, 2011, I purchased four new tires for my car from Mavis Discount Tires AKA Cole Muffler. They neglected to replace the lug nuts on my front, driver side tire, in which, driving away (2 blocks from their store) my tire flew off into traffic causing my car to slam down onto my rotor, damaging the rotor, studs, front fender and flare, not to mention emotional damage to me. Mavis's partial attempt to make good by replacing two rotors, however, I still have not received any compensation for the body damage and unsatisfactory work. I was informed by Mike at the store that the employee who worked on my car had been fired immediately, which holds no amends to me and my situation. When the Regional Manager no longer responded to me I contacted the Customer Service number from their website and I spoke with "Joel". Without as much as an apology, his response was "accidents happen". He told me that it is not Mavis’s policy to reimburse for work completed. I went on to explain that it was unsatisfactory work and that my car is not in the same condition it was when I left my vehicle in their hands and his response was “oh well”. As of January 21, 2011, I have not received any form of compensation due to this company’s negligence; therefore, I feel I need to file a complaint to warn any potential customers. Nor will I ever refer anyone to do business with this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had a tire replaced, and had to bring it back 4 days later due to the fact it had 2 bubbles. They supposedly replaced it agin, and now 3 months later it has a slow leak. I had much better service before it was Mavis.
Loose lug nuts happened to me but with NTB. Luckily my front tire didn't fall off. NTB was more responsive to my situation then Mavis Discount Tire/Cole Muffler is to yours. They're supposed to have insurance for damage caused to others property. They most likely don't want to file a claim for you because their insurance rates will go up or the policy canceled. Take pictures, get estimates for the repairs caused by their negligence and take them to small claims court. If you have a good insurance company for your car they might be able to help you. Thanks for warning us. Good luck!
