I am a Veteran and I had a prescription for eye medicine to be filled at publix ne 35th st ocala fl thru community care for veterans
Technician name is RON I was there from 530 thru 615. FIrst he was rude to me when I mentioned I'm a veteran and told him I spoke to someone 2 days ago via phone confirming community care. I gave him the paper work with all the codes and information needed. He says out loud with 5 other customers there give me your social security number. I said I'm not saying that out loud he copped an attitude with me. I'm wearing a right wrist brace on my hand. I am a military veteran with disabilities. SO he's responding with a very rude tone well then write it down. Rudly spoken
I'm standing there with groceries in a cart I have no pen on me. I ask for a pen and he gives me an attitude. He then says I need to call this in for approval. SO I did more shopping came back. It looked like he wrote my social security number down on another separate piece of paper. I hope not
He says I called they said your not in optum systems. Ive been in there system for years. I called the number he claimed he called And there was no one to speak to it was a recording.
So I had to pay full price for this medicine that the VA hospital would have been for free.Community care which this publix pharmacy as listed as being a provider for us Veterans.
Ron the technician is very rude and I believe he has hatred towards female Veterans. His whole demeanor was completely obnoxious towards me. The eye rolling was more than anyone should have to deal with.
I shop there often but I will never fill another prescription there ever. I will let the VA know what I experienced trying to get a medication prior to surgery.
Desired outcome: Fix your technicians attitudes towards Veterans and have them learn about COMMUNITY CARE billing and insurance thru optum
