Uber Eats review: Uber asked me to do the pickup, withheld the €8.53 offered, then buried my complaint in template replies
On 3 October 2026, I ordered delivery through Uber Eats. About 20 minutes later, Uber offered me €8.53 to collect the food myself. I accepted and picked it up.
I did the transport myself. Uber did not credit the €8.53.
Their explanation? My order already had a “buy one, get one free” promotion. But that promotion was already on the order when Uber made the pickup offer. Why offer me €8.53 to change an existing order if you are then going to refuse it because of something already on that order?
Trying to get an actual answer has been infuriating. My messages have been met with what appear to be BOGO template replies, without addressing the sequence of events. Even my GDPR data access request received a BOGO response. A question about my personal data somehow gets answered with an explanation about a food discount.
The €8.53 matters. So does being able to trust an offer shown in the app—and getting a relevant answer when it is not honoured. In my experience, Uber Eats failed on both counts.
If something goes wrong with your order, this is the support experience I would want to know about before spending my money.
